Highly Recommend Akrivi Chatzigeorgiou as a Private Guide for Knossos and Heraklion Archeological Museum
Akrivi Chatzigeorgiou’s expert guiding services provided us with a well organized and highly informative tour of Knossos and the Herakion Archeological Museum. She is well spoken and provides interesting commentary. She can speak to those with a deep interest in Minoan & Greek history or those looking for an introduction. She knows Knossos and the museum very well, and avoids the crowds, when possible, making the experience much more enjoyable. She provided door to door service for us from our hotel, making the experience seamless. Thank you Akrivi! It was a highlight of our Greek tour. We normally would not spend the extra for a private guide, but this experience was well worth it.

Good day out and worth a visit
Fantastic site, bigger than I expected and lots of information available. It was very busy so be prepared to queue . Shops close by too for souvenirs or drinks etc We went by open top tour bus, the open top bus was nice but not worth the extra..could have just used a bus directly to Knossos

Best of Crete in 3 days
My partner and I did the “Best of Crete 3 days” private tour with Akrivi and Ioannis. They were wonderful hosts with a lot of knowledge and talent in their crafts. We went in late March which is still off-season, and one of the days was a national holiday, but that didn’t matter because We Guide kept all early closures in mind and arranged the days so we would truly get the Best of Crete. Each day we were picked up from our hotel in Heraklion. Akrivi stayed with us the whole time providing expert level knowledge for every corner. She also makes sure you are never hungry. So much delicious food, wine, and coffees. Day 1 = To the East! We took a drive and then a boat ride to the Venetian fortress on Spinalonga. WOW! So neat. Lunch lakeside in Agios Nikolaos. Akrivi made sure we got to taste many many Cretan flavors. Delicious. Then back to Heraklion but not before We Guide gave use tips on where we might like to shop or eat in town. Day 2 = To the West! To Old Town Chania where we did a walking tour and had a lunch fit for a foodie. On the drive back to Heraklion we stopped and walked around Rethymno. Day 3 = Heraklion Day! First to the Palace of Knossos. Then to the Archeological Museum of Heraklion where you will see artifacts found at Knossos. Then a food and history walking tour of Heraklion stopping by local treasures. There was a special “hometown” feeling Akrivi gives on this section of the tour. To be honest, when we were booking this tour we thought it was a bit expensive but after experiencing the high quality and personalized service from We Guide it is definitely worth the price. A very special way to traverse the North side of the island and experience local specialties. It’s no wonder Crete is a popular place and we are so thankful to Akrivi, Ioannis, and We Guide for creating memories with us.

      Amazing tour
We took a tour whith Akrivi Chatzigeorgiou and it was one of the best guided tours that I’ve ever done. We learned a lot of mythology and it’s relation with history and Cretan culture. She is a very relatable and friendly person, with a good sense of humor.

      Lovely guide
Great tour. Met our guide outside who had our tickets ready. She was really knowledgably about the site and answered all questions. She also knew where all the shade was so we could cool down!

Great addition to the visit of Knosos palace
We first went to visit the Knosos palace where we had a great time and then went to the museum (different days) and to our surprise our guide was again Giorgos and since he remembered us from a couple of days ago from Knosos palace we had great visit to the museum as he filled in the gaps of information and things to see which could not be seen in the palace and we did not just receive repeat information… We had a really great time and I think I can say that we finished our visit not just as customers but as friends.

      Wonderful visit to Knossos
Our guide George was fantastic! He took us to both the palace as well as the museum. He was well prepare in all aspects, including how to avoid too much sun at the palace. I highly recommend this tour. I would’ve missed a lot trying to go without a guide.

Knossis Palace and Archtectural Museum tour in Crete
The tour of the Knossis Palace and the Architectural Museum in Heraklion, Crete, Greece was incredible. An archeologist led our tour and she brought everything to life. It was interesting to be with someone who had the background and knowledge she brought to the tour. I regret I do not have her name, but it was a Viator tour. I was sorry we had to arrange our own transport as we were about 1 hour away, but it was well worth the trip.

      Minoan Collection
This visit had been part of a trip to visit Knossos. We had the afternoon to visit the museum to see the exhibits that our guide had mentioned in the previous tour. The Minoan collection shows pottery and luxury items. The collection is split between rooms and the guide leaflets are various languages including English. There is a lovely garden area to sit and rest

Very well organized ! Worth It !
Absolutely worth it ! The meeting point was easy to find. Our guide AKRIVI took us one-and-a-half hour tour of the Knossos Palace. She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions in a detailed and precise manner. A tour of Knossos is a must for anyone visiting Crete.

The highlight of our trip to Crete
Simply the best. The highlight of our trip. Akrivi is an ideal guide and makes everyone feel she speaks to them. I studied classics at university, and I still found I learnt new things; my friend knew very little about the subject but also felt it was perfectly pitched for her. It's not a private tour that you can book just for your own family, but the groups are still so small that it feels like it is and everyone gets their questions answered in detail. (She had sophisticated answers to everything we threw at her!) We were really impressed by her fluency, both in the English language and just in her natural speaking style. She must give this tour several times a week, and yet we still felt like the jokes and key lines were being delivered fresh, for the very first time, just for us.

Knossos Palace tour is not to be missed!
Great tour of the Knossos Palace with Katarina on Sunday, September 18th. She was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She also brought great visual aids to help explain the environment at the site. You definitely need a guide for this tour to be able to grasp the magnitude of Knossos. The combo Knossos tour and Archaeological Museum of Heraklion is as great value. Both places need to be on your Crete itinerary.

We had Joanna as our guide and she was absolutely the best. Made the history of the site so interesting and explained things about the island of Crete and how much of the site can relate to art and anthropology studies today. She was very responsive to questions and left you feeling informed and inspired. If you go to Knossos you have to have her as your guide!!!

I had a private guided tour of the palace with Guide Stella. She was a world class guide! Extremely informative. I said to her during the tour “if I went without the tour I would never have knew the things you are telling me”.
A guide is highly recommended, learn about all the wonderful ingenuity and history of the Palace and landmark itself. A truly educational experience!

We enjoyed our tour with Akrivi! We were lucky to have no one else on the tour with us, so we ended up getting our own private tour! Akrivi was full of knowledge and shared with us everything about the Minoan labyrinth. She was accommodating in taking our photos and even sharing photos with us of when she went into a part of the ruins that are no longer accessible. We're happy we went with taking a tour with WeGuide as I'm not sure we would have enjoyed the ruins as much going by ourselves. Thank you, Akrivi!

Akrivi provided an excellent tour that made our experience in Knossos truly memorable. Akrivi was very friendly, personable and knowledgeable.

I have visited Knossos may times in the past, but this tour offered new and valuable insights on the Minoan civilization and (surprisingly!) its connection to todays issues.

    Totally recommend it.

This was a fantastic tour that really gave us a new perspective on the classic Greek myths. We learned a lot about their relationship to history, as well as the history of the excavation of the site. If you are planning to go to the Palace, definitely book this tour! The visit to the site really wouldn't have been anywhere near as enjoyable or edifying without this tour.

Akrivi was our guide. She showed up promptly and gathered our group of 7 at the pleasant entrance of the park that has a nice cafe. We had purchased combined tickets at the Irakleo Arch. Museum the day before so we were set. Akrivi gave us a clear and intelligent walk with many fine details to help us really understand what we were seeing. We left Knossos and returned to the museum a second time with a better sense of what the Minoans had accomplished.

We have been on several guided tours, but Johanna was the best we have ever had! So much knowledge. She mixed the facts with interesting thoughts about science, religion and philosophy. When we asked questions, she not only answered, but told us more interesting things related to our question.
    We highly recommend this tour!!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our personal tour of Knossos Palace. Our guide, Passos (spelling?) was extremely congenial, had many entertaining historical tidbits to bring the ruins to life, and helped to explain both the history of the people and the probable life of the area's inhabitants. His English was impeccable, and he paced the tour well to hold our interest and point out the many interesting details we would have missed on our own. We saw the large groups of tourists with other guides, and felt thoroughly pampered as we were the only couple with our guide. We learned a lot -- thank you very much!

The service was very good: if you book in advance you skip the line, and for Knossos that can be very very useful...
Most of all, the guide offered by Fotini was great: detailed and refined, and at the same time cool and passionate. I strongly recommend the tour with her: even if you don't know anything about the Minoan world - but you want to be introduced in that world - you will spend a beautiful interesting and amazing time at this site...Fotini gave me the key to decipher the mistery of the Ancient Palace of Knossos!

We were fortunate to book this tour for 9:00 AM and there were only two of us. The guide introduced us to Greek mythology and history and then showed around. She pointed out important features we would have missed, as there is little signage. She led the tour at a relaxed pace and was open to our questions and observations. She explained that the original archeologist named features based on his cultural assumptions from the time he was working, and what present day archeologists have since discovered.
