And we requested several changes along the way - all done without a complaint and done quickly. was an excellent person to deal with. All of my email queries were responded to within a day. That never happens. She also took the time to meet us when we arrived in Greece and provided us with additional information. It was a pleasure dealing with her. I would highly recommend Trails Beyond. They definitely went Beyond the call of duty

Overall, very good tour. Super friendly and patient tour guide, mediocre hotel at Naxos, fine hotel at Santorini. The itinerary was well defined, flexible and interesting. Pretty well organized in communications prior to departure. Totally recommended.

Exceptional trip from start to finish. The gear list and pre-travel coordination was excellent, very helpful in setting expectations and making sure we had everything we needed to get going. On the trip itself our guide Alex was personable, enthusiastic & knowledgeable, always ready to teach us something about the region in specific or the country in general as well as offer advice related to the hike. The guest house accommodations were charming, with amazing food and comfortable rooms. The hiking was challenging but approachable broken up into achievable daily segments with clearly communicated levels of effort required. The views of the countryside were breathtaking throughout with the section traversing Vikos Gorge & the section from the Astraka Mountain Hut to the Dragon Lake being absolute highlights. I cannot stop showing off my pictures & bragging about going to a place before any of my friends. I would 100% consider using Trails Beyond for further trips or even re-doing this tour it was that good!

The tour was great, and Aris was a superb and knowledgeable guide. Throughout the tour we had support of a van, and only one night did we need an overnight bag (so OK, to take a larger bag on the van). Great to see a part of Greece away from the main tourist areas.

I have left many reviews on TripAdvisor over the years, and we have been to many places around the world. This is the case where a 5-star review doesn't do justice to the quality and value of an experience. We recently returned from a sailing and archaeology adventure in Greece with Trails Beyond. The week long trip began in Athens and we visited a different location every day, both islands and on the Peloponnese Peninsula. The execution of the itinerary was flawless. We had a personalized, private guide at all of the historic archaeological sites along the way. We visited temples, ancient cities, medieval towns, hidden coves, and quaint islands, and along the way it felt like we were in another world where no one else existed. In Athens before the trip, we fought huge crowds and 10,000 tourists at the Acropolis. Once we stepped foot onto the sailboat with Trails Beyond, we were whisked away to sites where there were few, if any other spectators, We stood in Agamemnon's Tomb by ourselves. We climbed the stairs of the Ampitheatre at Epidaurus with nobody in sight. It was an amazing experience to visit places 2500 years old that 99% of the tourists in Greece skip over. The sailboat was perfect size for our family, and we became fast friends with Danae and Mike, who escorted us personally across the water and land. Their communication before the trip was excellent, they turned any obstacle into a new opportunity for adventure, and we hope to stay in touch with them for many years into the future. We liked every day of our trip "Hiking Zagori & Meteora." It was a very good balanced trip: not crazy difficult hikes, beautiful nature sights every day, interesting history of Zagori area, enough time to rest and even explore villages yourself. Pricing is fair. We highly recommend this trip.

We had a wonderful time with Danae and the Trails Beyond team! We tend to use providers like Kensington and A&K for international travel but wanted to use a local provider this time. A much better choice - 3x the activity quality, 2x the luxury, 100x the customization at 1/5th the price of the stereotypically "luxury" providers! We wanted a very active mainland tour with a private guide and got exactly what we could have wanted - bungee jumping, skydiving, caving, hikes, private explorations and tours of ruins, all at the perfect times/avoiding the tour groups. Food recommendations were great and lodging were exactly what we prefer - small, unique, boutique hotels (even a treehouse!). Certain tweaks we wanted or needed (no flying, I had to drop the rock climbing due to injury, cancellation of the sunrise hot air balloon ride due to weather) were dealt with without issue. We would happily use Trails Beyond again and recommend Danae and her team to anyone who wants to visit Greece!

Wonderful tour, stunning scenery, excellent hikes, and well organized. The stone arch bridges and stone villages in Zagori were amazing! Our guides, Aris and Stephanie, were enthusiastic, very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The food and accommodations on the trip were top notch. The guides did a very good job making adjustments for the weather, which was not always cooperative. I would highly recommend this trip with Trails Beyond.

This was a one week group hiking trip. Zagori is an area of Greece that many tourists don’t visit, so if you want to get off the beaten path, this trip is for you! We hiked through Vikos Gorge, hiked up to the Astraka Mountain Refuge, and made our way to villages on stone trails, down stone steps, and over stone arch bridges. Staying at guest houses in the villages, enjoying some home cooked meals was a special treat. Our guide, Danae, was fantastic! She loved what she was doing, was experienced, confident, and led us on hikes at a good pace for everyone in the group. The trip was so well organized and run, and a big part of that was due to Danae, who made it look effortless. A wonderful trip that was over all too soon!

This trip went far beyond our expectations. Hiking allowed us to experience the beauty of the landscape and learn about the flora, fauna, geology and history of the unspoiled and uncrowded Northern Pindos National Park from our guides, Danae & Voula. Our guides were very well organized and we always knew what to expect and what we needed for each day of hiking. They was full of knowledge and enthusiasm and connected with all members of the group. This trip is a must for hikers and walkers wanting to enjoy unspoiled scenery, deep gorges and high peaks without the crowds of the Alps and other popular areas. Combine this with a few days on the Greek Islands to relax after hiking and you have the perfect active holiday in friendly Greece!

This is a well designed walking holiday. Each day offered a stunning walk through the wonderful Zagori region. And I loved the visit to the monasteries of Meteora. Well organised hotels and village experiences were a delight. Papingo is gorgeous. I was expecting a smaller group, not twenty - eighteen walkers and two guides. At times the guides struggled to communicate daily events with the group. Nevertheless, it was a worthwhile travel experience.

Go on the Zagori trip!! You will be amazed at the extraordinary scenery, the history and the variety of experiences. Danae and Voula our guides were excellent. Highly experienced, thoughtful, friendly and knowledgable. Trek the deepest gorge in the world, stay in a mountain hut and see wild horses, visit monasteries perched on top of mountain pillars like you’ve never seen. This is an area of the world that will be missed by many but should be on your bucket list. Trails Beyond love their job and care deeply about their country.
