Was super impressed with customer service from Visit Meteora agents, both with email communication and in-person in their office. They were all so welcoming and lovely and they all speak excellent English.
We did a 2n/3d rail tour from Athens to Meteora (and back). Which included a hike, a sunset tour, 2 nights accommodation (best breakfast ever) and return rail tickets.
We were touring when Covid-19 was affecting Greece and there were barely any tourists left but despite the dire situation, all the people we met were extremely accommodating for us and we had such a great insight to the Meteora. We weren't even allowed inside the Monasteries but it was still exceptional. On the sunset tour, of course you aren't allowed to spend "all day" there, it's limited! that's what makes it so special. But you are granted well and truly enough time to experience it, learn about all aspects of the Meteora and take plenty of photos while also having time to take it all in. You don't need longer time.
The local guides taught us soooo much information we could barely take it all in. We visited a local church on the sunset tour (on our way up the mountain) and I was blown away by the incredible, sacred history of this old place.
The train schedule was amazing and the upgrade to 1st class is definitely worth it, it's already so cheap! the seats are so comfortable even for spending hours sitting down. The views from Athens to Kalambaka and back again were so amazing that I kept putting my book down to look outside.
This was definitely a highlight on our 2 week trip to Greece.
The only thing that was better was the accommodation we stayed at on this Visit Meteora tour - Monastiri Guesthouse. That was an incredible memory for us and I have written a separate review for them.
Thanks to all the staff for making it so memorable.

We had an amazing time in Kalambaka. We went on the Sunset Tour and the 1/2 day hiking tour. Both were a lot of fun. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. The Sunset Tour was a great way to start things off and provided an overview of the area. But the hiking tour was the real highlight. It was entry level/intermediate in difficulty. It provided that perfect balance of information, amazing sights, and just being outdoors. Visit Meteora made the whole excursion very easy. They booked round trip train tickets from Athens, the hotel, transfers and the tours. It was all very seamless and easy. We upgraded to 1st class train tickets and a 4 star hotel. We all arranged upfront to stay a 3rd night in Kalambaka. This enabled us to do a second day of hiking on our own…which was a lot of fun and very easy to navigate. The accommodations were all great. I would highly recommend this tour company and the Sunset and Hiking Tours.

We did the 4 day, 3 night train tour from Athens to Meteora, the Sunset Tour, Mount Saint Scramble and 2 other hikes just this past week. We travel extensively and have to say that they were the best tour company we have every dealt with. Everything was flawless and VIP the entire way. Guides went above and beyond, all loved what they did and showed us an unbelievable 4 days. Logistics were completely smooth and beyond organized. You guys are the best; thanks for treating us like royalty!

Organisation, Hotel and guide were reliable and top quality. Landscape unbelievable, monasteries very Interesting.Just St. Stephans nunnery was overcrowded. I wouldn't do the Sunset tour AND Morning tour again - to much redundance. Hiking tour is the far better choice. But be sure to have the possibly for a shower after the walk

I was very pleased with the 3-day/2-night Meteora tour. The mini-buses are good quality, the drivers are good, pickups were always on time, water is provided, and the two guides were superlative. On the Sunset Tour, Dimitri (Jim) provided four hours of commentary about the history and geology of the area, construction of the monasteries and Greek culture - an experienced and personable guide. On the Hiking Tour, Vangelis (Evan) guided our group of 12 expertly and amiably, 4.5 hours of walking, explaining history and geography, pointing out plants, trees and wildlife, attentive to our needs, and providing energy bars at breaktime. Mythos Guest House was a good choice for my two-night stay. I was very impressed by both of the guides, and I highly recommend Visit Meteora, which does well organizing all the details.

Visit Meteora organized a wonderful trip to Meteora, from start to finish. They took care of everything from the train tickets from Athens, cab ride to Meteora, our stay in Meteora, a visit to Delphi and then, return to Athens. There were quite a lot of logistics involved, which they handled beautifully, without a hitch. In Meteora, the hotel was lovely, our guides, Jim and Christos were friendly and very knowledgeable. We also went climbing with Vassily, an extremely competent climber. We highly recommend this group.

The trip to Meteora was amazing, Our hotel was centrally located just a stones throw from the train station. The hotel was lovely, clean, spacious and welcoming. The Sunset tour was perfect and a great way to see the area overall. We visited several monestaries from the outside and were able to go inside one. The driver and the guide Jim- were fabulous. Our 2nd day was a Scramble hike on ropes up to "the Saint". There were 2 guides and 4 climbers...the climb seemed intimidating to begin with but was fantastic. Our Guides Lazaros and Kostas were fabulous. We had a great climb and amazing views!!!

If you visit Meteora do travel with Visit Meteora or you’ll be missing a lot: fun and knowledgeable guides (they even found one that speaks our native language ¡genial!); prompt and always gentle attention to any request; local advice and genuine care and luckily 1 or 2 off-the beaten path turns during your Tour...

Took the tour as a last minute thing with my son. Having everything from the train tickets to the hotel to the food and the tours set for us, made this a truly memorable experience.
We spent a month in Greece, and those three day and two nights in Meteora was the highlight.
