- AG131110 contributionsNothing SpecialIt’s okay but nothing to write home about. In truth if it wasn’t for the attraction being included in the city pass we would probably have given it a miss especially as we were only there for approx. 35-40 minutes.Written August 3, 2024
- jayjaybee170 contributionsFunny experience, not cheapVery interesting experience, nice with kids, tour is limited to 1 hour - for this the price is on the limit. Can take a lot of pictures and experience a lot yourself.Written May 8, 2024
- 458arisd0 contributionsAttractive and funThe most attractive museum in Greece. Good prices if you have enough money, and kind staff. I liked the below: 1) The souvenir shop 2) The room with the mirrors, where you see yourself mirrorly, like 20 times 3) The room with automatic gravity, where you have to walk up, and see the automatical gravity trying to take you down. 4) The exhibit where on one side you see a cube, and on the other you see a pyramid 5) The exhibit in the restrooms , in which when you press the big red button, the restroom plays loud music colorfully. Also, the museum is on two floors.Written February 2, 2024

- Vasilena M0 contributionsNot so impressedkind of disappointed of the experience. Not many rooms. Overcrowded with children which made it overwhelming. A bit too pricy for what was offered. It was 11€ normal ticket and 8€.Written December 28, 2023

- DrLiz0 contributionsPrecious find with a gorgeous backdropHappened upon this gem location while strolling through the historic areas of Athens. The whole family enjoyed the amusing and interesting respite from the overwhelming cultural education on the area. First off, the staff is exceptional! Welcoming, helpful and obviously invested, they all helped us jump right in for the full sensory experience. Helpful hints were provided as needed for the more challenging of the brain teasers. Someone was always on hand two ensure the best approaches to the exhibits. We walked away with loads of photographic evidence of the best moments to be had as words can’t accurately describe the fun. Discounts given for students and teachers.Written August 11, 2023
- andreas19110 contributionsNeeds an upgradeJust to spend less than an hour. Definitely not worth the price. I ve been to a different one before elsewhere and it was much better, bigger and way more interesting. If the price was €5 less , I would say it's OK but not for this price. It's up to anyone's judgment and expectations. That's mine.Written June 27, 2023
- Janet C0 contributionsGreat fun - you should go!Loads of fun and some proper mind bending illusions!! The staff were really helpful and we absolutely loved it all - we had ages 7&9 plus adults. Highly recommend.Written April 8, 2023
- Melowi0 contributionsCool place!!Very nice experience with the kids. Lots of fun and great pictures taken there. Recomendable not only for kids, but wouldn't recommend for small children (below 5-6 yo)Written April 8, 2023
- Mike s0 contributionsPhone first! After a 30 minute bus trip to get here we were refused entry because of a school trip. Asked to return in an hour. We went for coffee then i booked tickets. I would phone if you plan to go, see of you can get in or book in advance. After we entered they let a party of 30+ in so i dont see why we couldnt go earlier. Its only one floior with a couple rooms but they have student discount. Its fairly cheapp anyway. A fun place for a few silly photos and to pass the time if you have enough of the historic places.Written March 29, 2023
- Zoikizaki0 contributionsGreat experienceHighly recommend activity in Athens, well organized modern museum. So much fun also shut out to Christina who was the instructor and helped us with everything and made amazing picturesWritten March 9, 2023
- trip-radar0 contributions... it's just a recommended, fascinating illusion!Which line is actually bigger? Which angle is actually bigger? Can you name the actual colors? Csn you feel like flying? Can you see the face fading? Does the brain play tricks? A visit to this place will give the answer.Written January 5, 2023
- Rangutang0 contributionsGood fun!Not so much a museum as a series of interactive illusions. Child friendly but it also means that you will have lots of children around you... being children! Staff on hand were great and helped explain what to do and take fun pictures. Not extensive time wise and you are time limited anyway but it's just about right and we all enjoyed it.Written August 20, 2022
- 335ds0 contributionsThotroughly enjoyedA lot of fun for children and adults. Staff are very helpful and available. A ticket is good for 50 minutes, just the right amount of time to see and try everything. Nice selection of puzzle available to try before purchase.Written July 2, 2022

We walked to the Museum of Illusions from our hotel which was 1/2 mile and took us about 15 min to arrive. It is easy to miss as all the buildings here blend in together.
We paid 9 euro (10 usd) per adult. Go early in the morning when it is not so busy.
We were disappointed since many of the illusions we have seen and can be found on line.

This was okay. I went as a solo traveller, and think I'd of had a better experience with one extra.
The museum itself is quite small and I felt at bit hounded by staff who were quite strict on Covid mask wearing, even for a 2 seconds for a photo - despite the fact I ate and drank at copious other bars and restaurants during my stay wearing no mask at all. The risk of me taking my mask off for two seconds in a mostly empty museum at distance from the person taking the photograph seemed very small (especially given the proven limited efficacy of the masks, and the fact I had shown my Covid vaccination certificate) - but maybe this is more a comment on the current rules in Greece?

Located conveniently in the Monastiraki district, this cute little museum was the perfect air conditioned place to pop into in the middle of the hot day. Because of Covid, the limit inside the museum is 50 minutes per group, but that was not an issue as it is a small attraction. Aside from a small mirrored room on the bottom floor, most of the museum is located in one large room on the second floor. There is an employee in the middle of the attractions who is happy to take your (or your group's) photo inside of the illusions. These included things such as a rotating room, an upside down room, and a couple others. This is a fun attraction to take your family (or friends in our case) to if you need an hour out of the heat!

The ticket is to expensive (9 euros) for a so small place that with just few visitors looks crowded. The big disappointment was the very strict staff on COVID mask wearing. They didn't permitted us to remove it, even just for one second for taking pictures. When I left the place I felt more that I lost money than I had fun.

Visited Athens during one of the coldest weeks. We were looking for an activity that was indoors. So this was a last minute booking. Absolutely loved it!! I took my mother and my 30 something year old sister and we enjoyed the opportunity to re discover our inner child curiosity and fun!! I love that the museum is open quite late. We booked on the same day at 5pm and got a 7:30pm slot. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. There was always member of staff available to help you with the different activities. They also took some really lovely pics!! There were enough areas to keep you interested without it being overcrowded. A brilliant indoor via Trip Advisor Attractions. An attraction for all ages

The Museum of Illusions will sow you just how much our perception of something we
see can be wildly inaccurate. Starting
from identical length lines whose different
endings trick the brain into thinking one
is longer than the other, through various
perspective tricks that seemingly make
someone much taller or shorter than in
real life, all the way through various tricks
with the mirrors (my personal favourite
being "the head on the plate"), this is a
relaxed way to spend 3/4 an hour, perhaps
just taking a short break from Athens' heat.
Friendly and enthusiastic staff are always
at hand to help out with taking a photo or
merely advise where best to stand to get
the most out of a particular illusion.
The Museum of Illusions is located at a
short walking distance to the Ancient
Agora so if you're already visiting the
latter, consider this one too. You won't
regret it.

We (family with young adults) spend about an hour in this small museum and had a really fun time with a good selection of illusions. Highly recommended to step out of the heat and visit this museum. All staff were really friendly and helpful.

Very fun museum. There’s a lot of serious archaeological stuff to see in Athens and plenty to learn - this museum makes for a lighthearted change when you’ve been looking at more historical pieces for a while. Had a good time, took some goofy photos.

Seeing as our flight was delayed 48hrs we had to find other things to do in Athens and after a Google search came up with this museum. So glad we did……it’s definitely fun !!!! Mind bending attractions and super helpful staff mean that you get some unique photo opportunities, realised when we came out that we’d been in there an hour and half. Highly recommend.

This was a great surprise at the heart of Athens! We visited the museum at the beginning of August (a good time to explore beautiful Athens without too much traffic!). We spent fifty minutes exploring ''illusions'', and we really enjoyed our time. It worths noting that all staff were very helpful and always willing to take a family photo. Well done to everyone involved.
