- cptr2293in0 contributionsSantorini Wine TourOverall a good tour. Jacob the guide showed up 30 minutes early which created some confusion; however, it turned out ok. He was well informed and was able to keep us occupied. The first two wineries were great, but the last winery, the woman explaining the wines rushed through the wines and really did not allow us to enjoy the wines. Still a good tour. Recommend Jacob and the tour.Written October 1, 2019
- michaelpC6591NX0 contributionsA WASTE OF MONEY!!!The tour was NOT AT ALL AS ADVERTISED AND NOT AT ALL WORTH THE 310 EUROS WE PAID. Our hotel conceirge called th owner and complained for us, but only got cover up excuses and untrue statements from him. We received: - No Masticha submarine - No tour of Emporio Village - No interactive farming tour of Nomikos Estate - Cooking class was WORTHLESS. It was not done at the regular restaurant with the regular Greek chef, but with a girl from Romania who had only been in Greece for a few months. All we did was cut up tomatoes and cucumbers for the salad. She could not show us how to make moussaka because she had no ground meat in supply. RIDICULOUS! - Lunch was not what was promised. No dessert; no wine... - Then after lunch we sat in the restaurant for an hour waiting for our driver to return. A very bad experience, and totally misrepresented in DNA Travel advertisements. This tour apparently used to be done well, but NO LONGER Stay clear of DNA Travel...Written September 26, 2019
- feistys0 contributionsGreat tour buddies make all the difference! My partner and I met two ladies who were great to converse with so that made the tour. The museum was certainly something to see but it would have been much better if someone guided us through it rather than give recordings to listen to. I loved the old pictures and machinery but the dummies were a bit unusual.... The tastings and snacks were plentiful though!Written September 9, 2019
- Kellyjane420 contributionsAmazing day exploring Santorini learning Greek history and cooking authentic Greek food!We had an amazing day, we were taken to some small traditional towns in Santorini by our lovely tour guide Jacob. We learned the history of the island and the traditions of Greek culture before tasting proper greek coffee and spoon sweets. Then we moved on to wine tasting at Gavalas winery- great experience. Finally we had a greek cooking lesson at the gorgeous Petrino restaurant in Megalchori, where we made Greek Salad, Tzatziki, Tomato balls and Moussaka.. the food was incredible! We have all the recipes to take home and can’t wait to make greek food. The best day of our holiday, definitely recommend for anyone on holiday in Santorini. Kelly and David xWritten July 22, 2019
- DepyPanagopoulos0 contributionsAmazing experience! We visit Santorini for the second time and we wanted to see places less touristic and experience them through the eyes of a local expert. The host was very kind and fun with great knowledge of the island and the local products. He made us feel like old friends, We got to taste great wines and local flavors we wont forget. Transportation with a luxury and clean mini bus. In every venue we were expected and specialy treated. We wish we had more time to do another tour with DNA travel!Written July 15, 2019
- rafadagafa0 contributionsFantastic tour; local culture, history, food & wineWe took the Summer Habits, 5 senses tour. We were picked up by a local gentleman ( apologies but I can’t remember his name) who shared with us his extensive knowledge on the history of Santorini. He was well informed and very passionate about his country and its history. He took us to a local quiet & traditional town and showed us some of the local produce and we stopped for some regional refreshments in a beautiful plaza as he continued to explain more about Santorini and answered any questions that we had. After our stop we drove to the highest point on the island and saw a birdseye view of the landscape. This was absolutely stunning! From there our host was able to point out each individual town and share some more info about the surroundings. This really helped us plan our remaining days for the holiday. Afterwards we were driven to a restaurant/ vineyard where we tasted a few wines and did a fantastic cooking class followed by dinner. We will rate these brilliant activities separately but the service and package that was offered by this company and overall experience for the day was excellent and we enjoyed it a lot. We would 100% recommend this tour to couples or individuals who want to see and understand a little more about Santorini than just its beautiful sunset.Written August 15, 2018
- Caterina M0 contributionsDon’t miss the experience of a lifetimeWe decided to do the Summer Habits tour and experience an alternative activity in Santorini and it was the best day of our holidays! Our guide was super kind, smiley, willing to answer any question we had! Our first stop was at Emporio Village where we tasted Greek traditional coffee with Greek spoon sweet. We then visited the farm of Nomikos Estate where all local products of Santorini are grown. We had the chance to taste all traditional products and even take part in the milling of the fava. Our next stop was the hill of Profitis Elias, located on the highest spot of Santorini offering outstanding views. Our guide gave us a panoramic tour of the island while we had the opportunity to take beautiful photos! At the end of the tour we took a 2hour cooking lesson in an elegant restaurant and then enjoyed a 5 course menu with a bottle of wine by the winery. The best part of the tour was at the end, when our guide surprised us with a goodbye gift bag including local wine openers, dropper, stopper, mastiha candies and souvenirs. Highly recommended!Written August 14, 2018
- Sophie M0 contributionsCaldera views, optimum alcohol tasting and intro to the local life into just 5 hours! So alternative and experiential! Highly recommended to those who seek the beauty of a place behind the hallmarks. Interesting to enthusiastic from the very first moment when we met with the smily, genuinely friendly and knowledgeable guide up to the last moment when we were offered a gift bag full of momentos of the day and of the island. Nothing else but good words, a compact day that leaves you with deep knowledge and magical frames of the island... Don’t miss it!Written August 9, 2018
