Tripadvisor gives a Travelers’ Choice award to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travelers and are ranked within the top 10% of properties on Tripadvisor.
Our first stop is at historical Thermopylae! Paying tribute to King Leonidas of Sparta and his 300 Spartan warriors we will visit the amazing monument of his statue which is captivating! Next stop breathtaking Meteora! Meteora is considered one of the most beautiful areas of mainland Greece and its hanging monasteries are one of the country’s most unique attractions. At the foot of Mount Parnassos, lies the Pan-Hellenic sanctuary of Delphi, which was the most famous oracle of ancient Greece. Delphi was regarded as the “navel” of the world. Ancient Olympia in Greece was the site of the ancient Olympic Games, which were celebrated every four years by the Greeks.  Mycenae, the kingdom of Agamemnon is a World Heritage UNESCO Site discovered by H. Schliemann. According to the epics of Homer, the expedition to Troy started from here. Nafplio was the first capital city of modern Greece. It is a picturesque town with Venetian architecture that the Venetians used to call the Naples of Greece.   This magnificent Epidaurus theater was constructed in the late 4th century BC to host religious events to honor the god Asclepius. It’s famous for its symmetry and it is also unique because of its excellent state of conservation, which allows it to be still in use.  We will explore the incredible archaeological site of Ancient Corinth with the fabulous museum, courtyard, temple of Apollo, fountain of Glauke, Sacred Spring, Peirene, Asklepieion, Odeion, Bema, Agora and much more.   Ancient Diolkos where you discover and explore the ancient passage from the Corinthian to Saronic gulf and the subducting bridge.  Lastly, you will appreciate the engineering and incredible views of the Corinthian and Saronic gulfs at Isthmus/Corinth canal.

Private Sunset Tour of Temple of Poseidon
Incredible views as you drive all down the coast of the southern mainland of Greece! Yannis was a fantastic guide who is so knowledgeable about the history of Athens and Greek mythology. Must stop at the Marida Seafood Restaurant on your way back.

          Unforgettable Private tour EXCELLENT
We had an unforgettable private tour of Classical Athens and Cape Sounion last December as a family of 4 from the USA. Our driver Mihalis was exceptional—extremely knowledgeable, professional, and engaging. He shared fascinating insights about Athens’ rich history, making every stop even more meaningful. Highlights included the Acropolis, the serene Athens Riviera, and the breathtaking Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounio where the sunset views were just magical. The tour was perfectly paced, allowing us to truly enjoy each moment. We highly recommend this experience with this company to anyone visiting Athens—it’s an absolute must!

Delphi and Arachhova with Tas and AGT.
The entire process was seamless and excellent. We were picked up at the correct time, very friendly and knowledgeable driver(Tas) guided and informed us about every location we visited. Tas was polite and very responsive. The car was clean and comfortable. We usually do group tours and this was our first private tour. It was absolutely worth the money.

Best history lesson you will have
Tas is the most knowledgeable driver/guide I met on this trip. He gave me so much historical context behind everything that we saw I couldn’t believe my ears. He also plans out each day really well and I felt very relaxed throughout the entire trip. I highly recommend Tas and this tour company.

          Ask for Peter!
A wonderful day trip with Peter to Delphi. He was informative and gave his own story of migrating to Greece as well as the history and stories of where we were going. He made a mother/daughter traveling on own feel comfortable. He even answered my questions while at restaurant via text. I wasn’t sure if not eating everything served was disrespectful. He assured it was not. He even made extra stops to take beautiful photos. The scenery in Greece is unreal, no matter where you are. He sent us photos that he took as well to round out our album. Ask for Peter!!

          A Truly Great Tour
Our driver, Tas, communicated with us and promptly picked us up at our hotel in Athens. The car was extremely clean, and the driver was very friendly, professional, and prompt. Waters and a snack were provided. Tas had a wonderful personality and was full of passion for the job. As we drove into the rural mountains of Greece, on our way to Thermopylae and Delphi, we stopped at numerous photo opportunity locations. Throughout the trip, our driver provided us with his historical antidotes to make the journey educational, interesting and exciting. We were dropped off at the historical museum in Delphi having already pre-purchased our tickets through Ancient Greece Tours. We spent about an hour in the museum and then another hour and a half wandering the ruins of Delphi. It is truly beautiful and should not be missed. We’re comfortable clothing. You are climbing the side of a mountain on stairs and ramps. After we were done at the ruins, we were taken to a beautiful restaurant overlooking the Gulf of Corinth for dinner. We were then taken back through the mountains to Athens with a few more photo opportunities along the way. If you’re looking for a day trip into the mountains to see Thermopylae and Delphi from Athens I highly recommend this tour.

          Wonderful private tour with Tas
My husband and I took this day tour of ancient Corinth with Tas, who was a wonderful tour guide! He drove us in a comfortable, air conditioned SUV and offered us cold water. He accommodated our schedule and was very considerate, taking lots of photos of us at many landmarks. He included a delicious lunch at a lovely restaurant. It was a wonderful private tour and we highly recommend booking any tour with Tas! I am recommending his tours to family and friends.

          Fantastic Delphi Private Tour
Well, we booked the private Delphi tour and were wonderfully looked after by Yannis, who if you read the website lives up to his bio, and more. A lovely man, a true professional, great driver, and very knowledgable and passionate about everything - literally everything! We travelled in the luxury minivan, really comfy, great views of the landscape en route, the drive is obviously long but well worth it. Delphi is a truly magical place. The scenery, the peace, the history, and to get there - the drive, its well worth the effort, even on a grey day. Made more special by the knowledge Yannis shared with us - we will always remember your stop at the viewing point looking down on the olive groves that seemed to go on forever! Yannis you made this trip all the more special. Thank you. The lunch stop, rabbit stifado delicious, the brief moving stop at the monument to the many too many villagers remembered from WWII. We were looked after, with cookies and water, brollies to hand, even info from Yannis to help us better negotiate the museum and archeological site….we wouldn’t hesitate to book another tip. The company communications prior were spot on, there is flexibility to accommodate your day, and yes a private tour may be a treat but you get to experience the day all to yourself. Well worth it. Take the company’s advice - they know what they’re doing!

Such an enjoyable tour! Peter was very knowledgeable and we learned so much about the cultural influences on the history of the area. Would definitely recommend!

The ruins are the highlight. Worth the long car ride if that’s what you want to visit
For a family trip, especially with young kids (under 10) and/or elderly members that have difficulty walking on uneven surfaces this was not the best option. The driver is very long and the best parts is the ruins. If you can’t enjoy the ruins this is a day long car ride and all you get to see is the museum. If you love history and ruins this is worth the long car ride, but with those that aren’t interested or can’t make it to see the ruins it’s not worth the time or expense.

          Meteora and The Hot Gates
Yannis, our guide was a wealth of knowledge. As a history fan soaking up his broad and in depth stories and narrative made our tour so much more interesting and informative. "Oh by the way, Alexander brought his army down this road. ". We enjoyed great local restaurants that he recommended to fit our requests as well. Highly recommended.

Wonderful time! Thanks to our driver Peter!
Such a fun day! Here for our honeymoon and totally recommend. We love history, and if you do too, you will enjoy. There’s some beautiful sights also. Peter was our driver and he was such a joy, so knowledgeable of the history of the sites. Very hospitable with cookies and water for us. I hope we can request him again. We were able to take our time in each place. Enjoy a meal with a beautiful view and got back in time. We had a wonderful time! Thanks!

Educational historical tour of St Paul’s time in Ancient Corinth
Tas was an amazing tour guide and driver! Since it was just my husband and me he tailored according to our interests. Tas was super knowledgeable and a great communicator (English is his first language) with a good sense of humor. Highly recommend this tour.

          Incredible day in ancient Corinth
Peter was our guide. His knowledge of the Apostle Paul and the area was tremendous. He gave us ample time to explore and brought us to incredible sites that weren't typical stops. Everything was superb!

This company provides personalized tours that provide more than advertised by adding flexibility to a planned circuit. We visited more than expected at our own leisure with an interesting guide/driver in a comfortable and quiet vehicle. When he offered something off the route - like a drive into the mountains to visit a unique chapel dedicated to St. Theodora and great lunch at a family restaurant we accepted and had a wonderful time. Without question we would reach out to Ancient Greece Tours again if we return to Greece.

If I could give 10 stars for this trip I absolutely would! The professionalism of this company was unbelievable. All emails were promptly answered which encouraged me to book this trip. The trip was altered to cater to our interests with no hassle. We had a fabulous time with Tas. His knowledge and commentary of the areas visited was 👌🏼. My teenage boys loved that they could communicate with Tas and exchange knowledge and just general conversation. Tas also went out of his way to find donuts and pizza for my son’s birthday and also gave a very thoughtful gift. Do not hesitate to book a tour. You will not regret it!!!
Thank you AGT and Tas 🇬🇷😊
