About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Laurel A0 contributionsAmazing private tour guideOur tour guide Aggelos did an amazing job of sharing his passion for Greece while giving a balanced view of the current issues impacting his beautiful country. The five days flew by and we would go on another tour with him without hesitation.Written March 17, 2025
- C9845PMmichelled0 contributionsBest thing we did in Greece!Private Tours Greece was super helpful and accommodating…helped us modify this trip so that it was a 3-day/2-night excursion. Their communications were timely and clear and the pricing was transparent and easy to pay. The trip was the Perfect balance of driving and stopping for tours. Because it was a private tour the mood was very relaxed and we didn’t feel rushed and could explore everything as long as we wanted. This was important because our family of 4 women have very different energy levels with some always on the move and others not so much. Our guide, Panagiotis, was delightful, very knowledgeable, excellent driver, flexible, helpful, and really helped our family have the best time. I was nervous about spending extra money for a private tour when cheaper bus tours go to the same places, but I’m really glad I did as it was just the perfect time for our family. Also the hotels and food places were great…especially the taverna in the town near Meteora. The only thing I would change would be to bring a swimsuit so we could dip into the hot springs near the Spartan battleground. Loved the whole trip!Written March 13, 2025
- C5696TOdanielg0 contributionsPrivate custom tourWe used Private Tours Greece and had a 10 day unbelievable trip. Patty Marouli was outstanding in the scheduling and follow-up during the trip. All the drivers were punctual and fluent in English with great insight. All tour guides at the locations were knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The sights, tastes, and culture of ancient and modern Greece came to life for us. We were picked up at the tour ship terminal with no issues. A list of the stupendous itinerary included - Cape Sounio Temple of Poseidon, Corinth archaeological site, 2 wineries in Nemea, Nafplio and Palamidi Castle, Epidaurus theater, Mycenae Lion's gate, Royal Palace, and Agamemnon's tomb, Honey tasting at a local farm near Delphi, tour of Delphi archaeological site, Ancient Olympia site, Meteora at sunset, 4 hour day hike at Meteora, a tour of the Athens Market followed by a Greek cooking class, tours of two wineries near Athens, private tour of Athens including the Acropolis, Perthenon, Museum and Mount Lycabettus. Traveling in November meant there were no crowds at any site and the weather was gorgeous.Written January 1, 2025
- Jorge V0 contributionsAmazing TourI recently had the pleasure of taking a tour, and I must say it was absolutely incredible. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. A special shout-out goes to Spyros, who was exceptionally kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. His warmth and hospitality made the experience even more memorable. He went above and beyond to ensure that everyone felt comfortable and engaged throughout the journey.Written December 30, 2024
- ardycem20180 contributionsAggulos is the manFirst time to Greece and our guide, Aggulos, was the best. Made us feel comfortable, welcome and most of all special. We saw some great sites and did not feel rushed out that any request was a bother. I recommend private tours to everyone and ask for the handsomest man, Aggulos, to be the guide!Written December 26, 2024
- Excursion633596833020 contributionsThe Places We Have Visited Exceeded Our ExpectationsWe appreciate the hospitality provided by our driver, Mr. Aggelos, so very much. Greece is certainly a place that cannot be fully explored on a single visit. Because of Mr. Aggelos' impeccable service and enthusiasm, we will consider coming back again, and to book another private tour with Private Tours Greece. Till then, the fond memories we have made from the 4-day tour are ours to keep forever.Written December 2, 2024
- 508ethanj0 contributionsTwo Thumbs Up for Private Tours Greece- great company, great driversMy wife and I spent 16 days on a trip booked through Private Tours Greece. The first five were on Mykonos and Santorini, and then we did this 9 Day Private Tour of Ancient Peloponnese and Meteora. Since it was the end of the season, there were fewer tourists on the islands, though the weather was still beautiful. On the mainland, our driver Spyros was fantastic. More than just a skillful driver, he helped us understand the Greek culture and language, gave us great recommendations for where to dine, and overall, was a welcoming companion for the trip. The trip was smooth and easy because of Spyros’ attention to detail and awareness of the itinerary and our interests. Thank you so much, Spyros, for an incredible trip!Written November 23, 2024
- nancesj0 contributionsAverage Tour CompanyNot overly impressed. Pick up was 40 minutes late, but did improve after that. The accommodation was very average. Either well located, but rubbish room, or great room, but well out of town. Cheap, although cost of the tour was not. The driver did not appear to be experienced, though was flexible. The places we went to were great, but that had nothing to do with the tour company. Sorry, but would be reluctant to recommend.Written November 22, 2024
- gourmand290 contributionsOur Greek expetienceGreece did not disappoint - standing where western civilization started made me humble. Aggelus our driver and literally our "angel" during our trip infused flavour to the whole experience with his love for his country and his enthusiasm for all things Greek - from its history to its glorious food ( restaurant recommendations were spot on), We felt very cared for. Our local guides in Corith, Olympia and Epidaurus were very good. They laser focused on the highlights of both the place and the museums. The hotels - Dimitsana's Enastron was a standout. Lovely host, amazing breakfast and a most beautiful room with a beautiful view. Others were satisfactory although we would have preferred a 3 star category with charm and in town rather than a 4 star standard out -of -way hotel ( case in point in Olympia). Our Athens hotel -Athens Plaza was right smack in Syntagma Square and the view of the Acropolis from our room balcony was just so lovely. Biggest disappointment: Zakynthos - charmless, rainy, dreary in November. This should never have been recommended. We chose this 6 day UNESCO tour with the intent of seeing the sites of Greece and we asked twice as we were planning this trip why Zakynthos and our tour planner Eleni kept on saying we should not miss it, its such a beautiful island with beautiful beaches, etc etc ( we are from Southeast Asia - not exactly unfamiliar with beautiful beaches) and being the naive trusting souls we are, we believed her. So it was a wasted 1. 1/2 days. Overall though Private Greek Tours did not disappointment if we erase Zakynthos from our memory. It really made a huge difference that we had the best driver Aggelus.Written November 16, 2024
- RoadtripMommy0 contributionsUnforgettable trip to GreecePrivate Tours Greece had exactly what I wanted for my itinerary. The booking process was seamless and Patty was super responsive in answering all my questions. George, our driver, arrived promptly each day to drive us to our destinations. He has an extensive network of other guides/drivers so he would work with us to adapt our schedules so we maximize the time at the archaeological sites and beat the crowds each day. He made excellent suggestions for meals and we were impressed by his professionalism and warmth. Having a private tour allowed us to do fun side trips and see a part of Greece that was not swarmed by tourists from cruise ships. George took great care of us and we will always remember our trip to Greece fondly.Written October 28, 2024
- DGCPhila0 contributionsGreatly disappointed with Private Tours Greece and booking agent Tourradar - our first trip of a lifetime to GreeceWhere to begin? In a nutshell - Not worth $10,000! Very disappointed with the accommodations and some of the tour planning. We had hoped for much more for our first trip of a life time to Greece. I don't think there are enough characters to permit me to convey in writing the multiple disappointments. I doubt Private Tours Greece or Tourradar will publish this as well. It appears they only publish glowing reviews. However, here goes... We paid an additional $1,000 for a hotel upgrade to 4-star hotels. Of the five hotels we stayed in, only the Ibis in Heraklion deserves such a moniker (later caveat for La Divina - Athens below). 1) La Divina Hotel - Athens - The room at La Divina was an extreme disappointment. It was located on the first floor and the first room closest to the front desk. As a consequence, we were subjected to constant loud conversations and voices, sometimes into the wee hours of the morning. The room itself was tiny and had a view of a dirt yard filled with weeds surrounded by a cyclone fence. From your brochure and the photos of the hotel, we expected to have a room with a view of the Acropolis. We would have appreciated being informed beforehand, or subsequent to our initial concerns, that a "standard room" in your so-called 4-star hotels was less than 4-star quality. We would have gladly paid for an additional upgrade. Every time we asked for an upgrade that we were willing to pay for, with the exception of the Ibis Hotel, we were told the hotel was fully booked. Really? The La Divina Hotel includes breakfast courtesy of Paleos Restaurant located two doors down from the hotel. Unfortunately, it does not open until 8:30 am for breakfast. We had to be ready for a 9:00 am pick up to begin the tour to the Acropolis. We had 15 minutes to inhale our breakfast after it was served. 2) Adonis Hotel - Mykonos - same situation. Our room was next door to the reception desk. The issue this time was not so much noise, but privacy. We had two large windows that faced directly outside for ingress and egress to the hotel. People were constantly walking by. We had to keep the drapes closed at all times. RIDICULOUS! We felt imprisoned without daylight! 3) Delion Hotel - Santorini - The room had a nice view of the Caldera/ sea, but, again, it was very small. Worse, the bathroom was tired and the size of a cookie jar. Any way you turned, you either practically fell into the toilet or tripped over the shower ledge. As for the shower, its design was ridiculous. The shower curtain only traversed half the shower opening so every time we would take a shower, the floor would flood, the toilet would get soaked, etc. On our second morning, I turned on the faucet in the sink to shave, and water came gushing out of the bottom all over my legs and feet. The plastic pipe under the sink was rotted and had become disengaged. This is NOT the makings of a 4- star hotel! Additionally, the opening to the small patio to enter our room was barely a foot wide. We had to shimmy in sideways every time we entered or left our room. Again, RIDICULOUS! Let's not even talk about the fact that the hotel was 52 stairs down from the Fira main shopping district street level. I had back surgery six weeks prior, which necessitated walking with a cane. You can only imagine my misery ascending and descending each and every time. Again, your tour company provides no adequate representations, in particular, that the hotel is located quite a distance down from the main road. Had we known, I would have booked us into the beautiful Hotel Atlantis at ground level next to the Cathedral Church of Candlemas of the Lord and above our hotel. 4) Ibis Hotel Heraklion - Crete - A GEM! What the other 4 hotels should have been! 5) Cavalieri Hotel - Corfu - The Cavalieri Hotel in Corfu is a faded grand dame whose furnishings and interior have not been updated since it reopened in 1969. Of course, when we checked in, we were given the "standard room' facing a building. At this juncture, we were fed up with the sub-standard hotels we had been booked in at extra cost, so we paid an additional 30 euros a night to have a room with a view of the gorgeous Ionian Sea. Do you really think that clients pay $10,000 US to be booked into a room, likely for the only time in their lives in Corfu, to face a wall of an adjacent building when the Ionian Sea is at their doorstep? Hotel Divina - Athens - As a caveat - I can only assume my disgruntled communications with Private Tours Greece regarding our abysmal hotels proved meaningful, albeit too late, to mean much. While the initial room at La Divina was a nightmare next to the reception desk, miraculously, when we returned from Corfu for our final night in Athens, we were given the "La Boheme" room on the second floor. It WAS a 4-star room with a stunning view of the Acropolis. What a shame we were not given this room at the outset. Patty from Greek Tours told us that when the tour company books a room in a hotel for a client it doesn't know where in the hotel the room will be located. Sorry, that is unacceptable. It is Private Tours Greece's duty to ensure that clients paying for a premium rooms at extra cost receive such! TOUR PLANNING: 1) With respect to our short time in Athens (one day is not adequate based on all the amazing archeological and cultural sites to see), while our hotel location in Monastiraki was ideal to see the Ancient Agora, Temple of Hephaestus, Roman Forum, Plaka, etc,, unfortunately we saw none of these. Instead of our tour guide wasting two hours of our precious time from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM touring downtown Athens by car viewing the financial/ business district and, later, homes of the rich and famous (of no interest) before touring the Acropolis, we should have toured the Acropolis at 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM (opens at 8:00 AM), which would have left us adequate time after the Acropolis and museum to visit all these sites in the afternoon. I was instructed by Private Greek Tours to buy admission tickets to the Acropolis for 11:00 AM. Mistake! 2) It came to our attention after the fact that our tickets to the Acropolis that I purchased entitled us to multiple other sites such as the Ancient Agora, Roman Agora, Hadrian’s Library, Olmpieon, Kerameikos, and Aristotle’s School. Why were we not made aware of this by the tour guide? After our brief visit to the Athen’s Museum, we were dropped off at our hotel and left to fend for ourselves without this knowledge. 3) As for the Sea Jet ferry to Mykonos, your company provided us with 3rd class econo tickets located in the front row next to the café where hordes of passengers were practically stepping on our toes waiting in the café line to be served. The captain made us aware that we could upgrade to "Privilege Class" located upstairs with wonderful, roomy seats. We upgraded. Again, we were not made aware of the type of transport ferry ticket you purchased for us and you should have informed us that we could upgrade if we preferred. While on board, I immediately upgraded our tickets for our subsequent ferry rides to Santorini and Crete. 4) We paid for the additional food tour in Heraklion. Your itinerary states that we were to visit the "unique pastry museum with 232 rare exhibits," "taste roast goat or pork in red wine sauce, and enjoy Cretan sausages with raki." We EXPERIENCED NONE of these. 5) Lastly, I don't know exactly what the issue was with the driver/tour gentleman in Corfu, but when we boarded the transport he asked us where we wanted to go. We were incredulous! I had to take out the itinerary provided by you and tell him all the places. He never took us to the Achilleion Palace in Gastouri. We were quite upset. It is absolutely gorgeous. I researched it online and it was closed back in 2020 for renovations and appears to have reopened. So we don't know why we were not taken there. All this is to say we were sadly disappointed in our tour. It did not live up totally to what was/is presented in your advertisements. We will compliment you on the transfers and modes of transportations. Wherever we went, there was always someone there ready to pick us up/drop us off, and take us to where we were supposed to be. Notwithstanding, we truly made the best of our trip because we immersed ourselves in the fabulous and beautiful Greek culture, food, amazing archeological sites and antiquities (Delphi, Delos, and Knossos), and most of all, the wonderful Greek people who all treated us so well. We shall never forget our sunset cruise off of Santorini. It was spectacular as were the sunrises and sunsets from the Caldera. For this we are thankful. Yet, in conclusion, we cannot, in all honesty, give your tour company and Tourradar a positive review. I hope that you can appreciate and learn from all that we have expressed to you. When a couple spends $10,000 US for their first trip of a life time to Greece, they expect more than what was provided.Written October 26, 2024

His passion and knowledge for his country and the rich history he shared with us was outstanding. He made our travel very comfortable and met all our requirements. The accommodation was absolutely fantastic, from quaint and immersive in villages to central and 5 star in the cities. We couldn’t ask for more. - peterhQ6669PH0 contributionsGreece - an insight into our ancient past and what has lead us to where we ar today. The tour introduced us to the ancient history of Greece. It was bloody amazing to be reminded of the role the greek region played in the evolution of our western society. Driver was fabulous, his knowledge of the history made it all "come alive". Huge thanks to Aggelos. Accomodation was skilfully chosen, another highlight. Greece has soooo much history and we congratulate the efforts that are being made to make it accessible to the visiting public. So important for a balanced understanding of the world we live in to have an understanding of the events our 5000+ years that have lead to where we are today. Excellent roadways, always felt extremely safe, at all times of the day. To stand at Olympia on a site that has been used from 5000bc to today - is mind blowing.Written October 21, 2024

Myself and my partner had an amazing tour where Patty, Dimitra and Effie helped organise a personalised trip where I proposed to my partner (she said yes!). As it was winter we worked together to make a personalised trip where we were picked up from the hotel in a nice Mercedes by our lovely driver Dimitrios (excuse the spelling). He drove us down to the lake, waited for us and then we drove to Sounio. We had an amazing tour given by Maria who was so sweet, kind and informative and who I would describe as a greek treasure in herself. She had so much knowledge to share and kindly took so many great pictures for us to remember the occasion which we will cherish for life.
We were able to communicate both over email and WhatsApp to make sure all the finer details were ironed out. They were very accommodating for all my requests and helpful throughout.
Just for some added site info. Lake Vouliagmeni was a lovely area to relax. Very calm with a coffee shop attached and nice area for a quiet dip. Sounio was beautiful at sunset, it overlooks a lovely cape and having the temple as a back drop provides a very atmospheric vibe. Archeologically it's a small site so I wouldn't expect a lot to see and do. Just enjoy the breath taking views and bask in the beauty of an amazing spot to view the sunset from.

You really only go to the Temple… we never got off to walk the Athenian Riviera, we saw the lake only from the out side parking lot, and our tour guide was very quiet making the king car ride boring and awkward at times.

Hello Dear Rocio,
thank you taking the time to write your review.
The licensed guide that was accompany you asked if you want to go inside the lake (with entrance fees 8 euro / pp) and didn't decide to go.
As far as the walk at the Athenian Riviera, we have a stop for panoramic photos and not to walk around as mentioned at the program.
I am so sorry that you didn't enjoy the tour as the sunset time at cape Sounio is an amazing experience.
