This was a fabulous way to experience a lot of Athens and Greek culture in a short period of time. Our guide, Lefteri was an excellent host.

The morning tour guide was friendly, excited, and knowledgeable about all the local eateries and landmarks. The Bougasta at Bougatsadiko Thessaloniki was delicious and watching Greek coffee being made at Mokka were my favorite! The authentic local dishes at Taverna was a great way to end the tour and finish filling your belly! I could just eat the Gigantes Plaki just as a dish alone! Try everything! You won’t be disappointed.

This was a fantastic small group experience! If you would like a real taste of Athens (actually many tastes) we would highly recommend. Lefteris, our guide, was knowledgeable, personable and really enjoyed his time showing us around. He tossed in Hellenic and Athenian history as well as some details about his own life here. And, he did it all in the rain with a smile! Made our day.

I had such a wonderful day. Lef was passionate and cheerful right from the start, and took us on a fun tour around the city, offering us great bites of food (food to eat, and food for thought!). I would highly recommend!

We saw the recommendation for the Food on Foot Acropolis tours in the Facebook Greece Travel Planning group. We booked an Acropolis tour for June for two. We also booked a food tour with the same company earlier and were eager to use them again. Unfortunately, we neglected the instructions to buy a ticket to the Acropolis separately. We realized this a few days before our departure to Athens and the Acropolis tickets were sold out during our scheduled tour time. We emailed FoF and they changed our tour to accommodate the only ticket times still available for our tour date. This was very kind and understanding. Our tour was rescheduled to the evening. We arrived at the meeting point early but couldn’t find our guide. We asked a few people if they were FoF guides and actually asked OUR guide, but she said no because she thought we were asking about the food tour. Makes sense and was a simple misunderstanding with both parties thinking they had a missed connection. We called FoF after entering the park anyway and she said our guide was in fact there waiting and so then we both made our way towards each other and started the tour. Our guide was Alexia, and she started the tour immediately. She was very knowledgeable and professional. She had visual aids in her folder which helped a lot in understanding the architecture and ancient culture. She took us all around the main buildings and made sure we had time to digest the information and take pictures of the ruins. We were crunched for time, and it was really crowded, but we still felt like we had a personal experience. Especially since there wasn’t that much signage in the park, and we realized how fortunate we were that we had booked a private guided tour. Alexia kept us entertained and informed every step, and we really enjoyed our time with her and the effort she put into making our tour top notch! We highly recommend the Food on Foot Acropolis tour, and we highly recommend Alexia as well – she’s an outstanding guide!

Great value for the money! We were definitely well-fed by the end of the tour. The variety of tastings we experienced was delightfully authentic and culturally-rich. Our guide was Kate - a fun, friendly Greek woman who made us feel like. locals by the time we were finished. Kate was also knowledgeable and professional, and easy to understand. Hubby and I highly recommend!

We heard about the Food on Foot tours through the Greece Travel Secrets Facebook group. We booked the Classic Food Tasting Tour for two in June. Our guide was Kostas, and he had the most contagious energy. After we met the small group of fellow tourists, we started exploring the city. We tried a wide variety of food and went to multiple establishments, including a Greek family-style sit-down restaurant with many dishes to try, a cheese shop, Little Kook for a pretzel thing, a sit-down restaurant for meat pies, a Greek coffee shop, a donut place, etc. Kostas made the most of our time with information about each place and menu, as well as telling interesting stories along the way. The tour was at 1:45pm so we used it as our lunch and just had a lite dinner afterwards because we were so stuffed! We recommend this tour if you want a great guided break from sightseeing and a full belly!

We loved this tour! Food was delicious and the tour guide was fantastic. Highly recommend. Souvlaki was probably my favorite.

We had an amazing time on our food tour. Costas was an energetic guide who somehow remembered all 10 of our names. We even saw him the next day and he still remembered them! But, the food was great. We were able to taste things from a number of different locations and got some fun and helpful info about the city along the way, that we ended up using later. We went to a number of well known local haunts to try the local fare. But, we also ended with this crazy large feast where we tried every other Greek food that we hadn't yet tried. We were all stuffed. I couldn't eat the rest of the day. Well maybe a little gelato right before bed. But it was all absolutely delicious and fun.

I would highly recommend this tour. We are not big tour folks and kept them to a minimum. But this one was worth it because we learned a lot. In fact, it was the highlight of our Athens stay. Our guide, Kate, worked hard to be friendly and knowledgeable and to add value to our experience. We ate a lot! But each item was explained and of interest. She explained regional differences and farming differences. We got to try authentic Greek coffee, too. The tour was a good value for the money as well.

The Ultimate Food Tasting Tour of Athens from Athens Food on Foot was everything I had hoped it would be! Lefteris was an excellent guide - knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We tried a variety of foods as well as drinks. Besides the food, it was a great way to orient you to the city. You will not walk away hungry and definitely don’t eat ahead of time. We had a great group - we got along really well despite not knowing each other from the start. Highly recommend!

Katarina was awesome! We had the best evening wandering all over the best areas of Athens. Katarina made our tour exceptional (except for the added 3 lbs of weight we will be working off😎)! We were able to taste so many different treats on our journeys and visit so many unique places to get the best sample of a truly wonderful cuisine.Katarina had a thorough knowledge of the culture and history of Greeks and we learned so much! Athens Food on Foot tour with Kostas was the absolute best tour I’ve done. He showed us different areas of Athens off the beaten path. Easy walking with stops to taste samples of amazing food and drinks. And then we ended with a FEAST trying everything special to Greece. Truly an amazing value but more importantly such a passionate personable guide. Kostas thank you for sharing your love of Greece and your energy and enthusiasm.
