My workshop with Greece Photo Workshops was in Santorini. My accommodations were very nice and, of course, the food was wonderful. Most of my photo activity involves wildlife and I'm more comfortable trying to capture a lion at the correct moment than a town from the right point of view. Having a professional photographer's guidance made my photos something I want to hang on my wall. A wonderful experience.

Nikos and Maria provided a great photography experience. Maria arranged our tour seamlessly and accommodated any of our asks (e.g. stay in one town a little longer). Nikos provided advice and was patient with walking through how to get shots and techniques for lighting and framing. Every night we had a photo review session where we could examine our photos from the day and perhaps areas for improvement. I thought this tour was all encompassing and exceeded all my expectations.

The Greece Photo Workshop with Maria and Nikos was one of the best if not the very best that I have ever attended. The workshop included: Athens, Meteora, Mykonos, Delos & Tinos. The personal attention and counselling was off the charts. Not only did I feel that I was given very helpful guidance to broaden my use of visual and photo capabilities the photo tour took on a very personal connection that formed a bond of interactions. We had a wonderful tour of Mani, Greece, with the photographer, Nikos Kokkas. Working with him we individualized our workshop to suit our needs. Nikos knows the area well; the sites, the history, the food, the people. And since he is an excellent photographer and teacher much was learned and absorbed. Oh! And t here was much laughter! The secret was to listen to Nikos when he says “you are in charge”. It’s easy to overdue it when there is so much to be experienced. The company had us in a beautiful hotel on the sea.

Boy! What an unforgettable day of learning and shooting the streets of Athens mentored by a seasoned professional !! Let me start by saying that I don't consider myself a photography noob as I started learning with manual cameras in the age of film, so I'm faily confortable with most technical aspects of photography. But at least for me, NOTHING beats watching and following (and being prodded by) a pro photographer, there's so much that you pick up that you just don't get otherwise no matter how hard you study and practice. Then regarding the whole process from purchase to actually shooting, I can't say enough of how professionall the whole process is. Kudos for the organization part as the workshop catered to my specific needs & desires perfectly ! Finally thanks to @Menelaos for a wonderfull learning experience. I certainly came out of it a better photographer then I came in.

Going to Tinos with Maria (who runs the workshops) and Nikos (the pro photographer) was one of the best travel experiences I've ever had. Maria took care of every little detail from picking everyone up to booking the house for the week to preparing snacks to driving us all over the island and to organizing the restaurants. She is kind and thoughtful and a lot of fun to be around and goes out of her way to make sure everyone is comfortable and having a good time. She knows all the best, most authentic restaurants and every hidden beach and cove. Nikos is a very accomplished photographer with tons of knowledge and experience working in editorial and commercial photography. He was always well prepared and great at incorporating all the different genres and aspects of photography I had asked for. He can be a harsh critic but he's honest and explains technical issues well. He has high expectations of his students and wants them to benefit as much as possible from the course. He takes his work as a teacher seriously and encourages participants to take risks and to see like an artist. I would definitely do another workshop in Greece with Maria and Nikos, both of whom made the trip an memorable, educational and culturally immersive experience. Thanks so much to you both!

When travelling around a new place, I always like mingling with the locals and get a gist of their way of living and discover all the details not everyone sees especially when visiting for a short time. Greece PhotoWorkshops gave me the perfect chance to combine my love for photography with my love for local culture. Maria (who runs the whole thing and takes care of every little thing- books really nice places to stay, makes sure she always carries a snack for everyone and takes you to the best secret beaches) is friendliness in person. Relaxed but restless, funny, curious herself and ready to answer all your questions at the same time. As for the photographer we had along, Nikos, he definitely knew what he was doing. A special eye always keen for the littlest of details, willing to solve all of our questions either technical or purely artistic and with a very broad perspective and knowledge of things. One of the best things he taught us was how to give life to our pictures no matter what equipment we carry. A really nice combination of qualities for anyone who wants to capture the unseen beauties of Greece sharpening their photographic skills but also get to know its people and culture and enjoy it all in good company.
