Visiting the acropolis is unmissable but your experience will be so much more enjoyable with a guide. Artemis was fantastic, funny and informative, answered all questions and paced our tour perfectly. The group is also limited to 15 people maximum which is very nice.

It's worth visiting the website to research the different price plans and tour options. It's 55 per person for admission to the acropolis and the 2 hour guided tour but we paid 75 per person for the 2 hour extra hidden Athens tour + picnic, which took in the neighbourhood of plaka and more time to be educated by Artemis. These sound very expensive but are actually quite reasonable as i think all of the tour operators will require you to pay the admission fees of each attraction. Highly recommended.

We arrived for our Skip the Line Tour about 2 minutes behind bc our taxi took us to the wrong place on accident. So be aware that they do adhere to timeliness. However, the staff was very kind and patient with us. One gentlemen personally led us to the group. Every member in the group had a small lanyard and ear piece so that we could hear our tour guide without needing to strain ourselves or focus over the loud crowds (that was one of my favorite aspects of this tour!). Our guide, Konstantina I believe, was very knowledgeable and patient, always willing to answer questions. The skip the line portion was clearly truly when we were able to immediately skip the giant line already formed by 9 am. For that reason, I would say this tour is worth it! Additionally, there are very fews plaques to explain what every monument or statue means so I would say that investing in a tour guide is a great idea if you want to better appreciate what you are visiting. We visited in July so it was very hot and crowded but Konstantina always made sure to find us a spot in the shade if there was one. This was one of our favorite tours in Athens!

Kimon, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. In addition to sharing the intricate history he also included some fun facts and myths about the Acropolis. We took the tour on a very sunny and hot day and he went out of his way to find spots in the shade where we stopped along the way.

The tour started punctually and the listening devices made it very easy to hear everything Kimon was saying.

Doreena was a great tour guide. So knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the Acropolis. This was definitely a worthwhile tour vs just walking around the ruins without all the context. We had a small group of 7, and the head sets worked well to hear everything. The time of day (3 pm) was perfect - it was warm on the walk up and windy and chilly once up there, and not crowded at all. Doreena gave us good directions as far as where the WCs were located (in the old museum building), where to get some good pictures on the back side, and the two different ways to exit. I liked the option where you turned right instead (vs the way we came up, near the Acropolis Museum), where you will end up at the base of Mars Hill. I would recommend doing that as well for another view of the Acropolis (though be careful of the very slippery rocks). Highly recommend this tour, and well worth the money paid.

Our guide was sweet and knowledgeable however did not tailor the 2 hour trip to the fact that there were three teens present. It was a lot of talking, with many facts, and little interaction, which was a shame. As an adult I found it very interesting, and the trip was well organised.

The guide was knowledgeable and had a lovely way of telling the story. I was surprised that from starting at the shop to finishing the acropolis was less than 2 hours including the walk to it; had expected longer from the advert. Some people went on to the museum with the same guide, but we wanted to explore the acropolis ourselves in more detail. We were given lots of opportunity to ask questions. The headsets were excellent and a must - would have missed a lot of what was said without them. Our group had about 15 people.

Dionysius was our guide and he was wonderful. I learned so much and it made my understanding of the Acropolis so much richer with the context of history he shared. He was fun, funny and always found us shady spots for his sharing and often places to sit for a bit too. It was just the perfect length and I really liked the little headsets that helped hear him with the crowds.

Having a tour guide for this experience was so helpful and insightful. Helena was very friendly and knowledgeable about everything there was to see. Being provided a headset to hear her talk while walking was so nice, especially with the wind. Highly recommend the later/evening times as it was still hot but there were way less people and the weather was more enjoyable.

We did this excellent evening tour of the Acropolis with Grigoriou as our guide. Instructions were clear - make sure you select the correct option at checkout (with or without tickets) when you buy and we met at the office and set off from there on time.
Grigoriou was so knowledgeable about every part of the tour and also broke the ascent into small manageable walks which was good for me as I have bad knees!
There was absolutely no queueing when we got there, straight in and lots of opportunities to take photos. It’s 2 and 1/2 hours and you end up at the acropolis so have the opportunity to stay up there to watch the sunset/take more pictures. Such a worthwhile tour, highly recommend!

The tour was well organized and our guide Zeta was warm, welcoming & knowledgeable. Ancient history, technology and culture became funny and engaging through her stories. We got so much more out of the tour than we would have going alone. An enjoyable way to experience the site of the birth of western civilization.
