- harishank800An efficient trip to DelphiIt was a really nicely organised tour. Everything was on time. Our tour leader Daphne was in constant touch from the day before keeping us informed of times and locations. She also seemed super knowledgeable about the place and the history and told us some really interesting stories. She was very nice and sweet in general. The bus/van was sufficient for the trip and there were enough rest stops. We had taken the tour without the entry tickets but there wasn't much of a line there to buy tickets so that was not an issue. Would recommend this tour if anyone wants to visit Delphi. Delphi itself was a good experience with a lot of history to learn about.
- Q8707TGpaolag00Lovely experience! We really enjoyed the tour from beginning to end. We especially appreciate the pace of the excursion that our tour guide Daphne set, without any feeling of rush. Daphne was very patient, gave us all the relevant information and recommendations before going to the Delphi site and museum, and was at the entrance waiting for us in case we needed her help. She also recommended us a lovely restaurant in Delphi town, which we enjoyed for its waiters, home-made food and lovely terrace under the trees. Delphi is a must-go place, not only for all its history and mithology, but also for its breathtaking location. Daphne was always happy to accompany us like to the Atenea Temple, which she had already introduced to us on the bus, and she also offered ro take us pics in any of the sites. She finishes her tour by telling us about two important myths, which she kindly texted us by WhatsApp as a remembrance of that lovely site we had visited with her.
- alexpU5573SR00AmazingWe had an amazing time on the tour to Delphi. There was plenty of time to explore and take your time but not too much time where you were waiting around. Lots of stops and well paced and loads to see. Daphne was a great guide! Really knowledgable and shared some of the Myths around the places visited. One of the best things we’ve done while in Athens ☺️
- Freedom1114347573300Great day outThis trip is really worthwhile, highly recommend. The site is incredible and our guide, Athina, was very passionate about the history of the place. All round a great experience.
- SSSS101500Mixed emotionsBesides the good family rate; this hop on hop off didn’t seem to meet our expectations. The commentary on the Athens line was weak and didn’t find it informative at all. On the beach line, the driver didn’t stop at all the stops and we missed the one stop that we wanted to make. I often found the employees unfriendly too.
- X5378QFwilliamg00This is actually a great way to get around Athens for the first time. It allows you the opportunity to see the sites. It would have been 5 but we were mislead on our second day and ended up taking the same route, rather than heading to the beaches! Drat!
- YURI D00A perfect day trip to DelphiEverything was perfect. The meeting place was easy to find and our tour leader Daphne was absolutely amazing! She took wonderful care of each of us, had a great sense of humour, explained the history of the Delphic archaeological site as well as pointed out interesting landmarks on our way there, which we would have missed otherwise. She also supplemented the tour with entertaining stories of Greek myths that we all appreciated. A very well planned tour with washroom stops, an opportunity to take pictures at Arachova, as well as Delphi and a great restaurant recommendation for the village of Delphi. I wholly recommend this tour with Sights of Athens.
- dariokba00Good service with a personal twist !Very good service , useful , good frequency and relevant stops. For us it was much more than that. Vasili, who sold the tickets , become a kind of "guardian angel", he was always available to guide us, recommending spots along the way . So we very happy about the service. Thanks !
- 833hemlatat00Temple of Poseidon sunset tourCharalampos Our guide for tour to Sounio and temple of Poseidon was very helpful, entertaining and history enthusiast. Highly recommend him.
- Giuseppe B00A fantastic day and fascinating experienceI was looking forward to Delphi and the experience was amazing! Simply loved the tour and the free roaming through the site with the VR reconstruction. Our guide Daphne was very nice and competent, providing insights on the area and greek mythology during the ride. As I spent too much time in the archeological site near the temple of Apollo, and did not manage to see the museum in the time provided, Daphne was kind and quick to provide a workaround so I could see the museum and join the group later. Totally recommend this experience for a personal, hassle free immersion in the site without walking through with a large group. Thank you Sights of Athens!
- Woon I00A Great Day in AthensKostas made our day exceptional! He was attentive and made a sincere attempt to show us the best of Athens. Kostas was full of information, pointed out historical landmarks off the beaten path, and took us to the usual venues such as the Acropolis, Agora, Temple of Zeus, Hadrian’s Gate, Panhellenic Stadium, changing of the guard at Greece’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Plaka shopping area, and the yachts in the Marina in Piraeus. Kostas took us to a local taverna at our request for local style lunch which was delicious and inexpensive! Thank you Kostas for a terrific day!
- K841PNandrewb00A great eveningWe had an amazing time on the trip. The site at sun set is just the perfect spot to wind down for the evening. On our way down to the site and back our guide was awesome. He not only gave us so much knowledge on Greek mythology, but he also got the other passengers participating in discussions which made the trip that much more fun
- Sightseer79167300Excellent Tour Guide / DriverOur driver Costos was excellent. It's a long trip from Athens, and having a private vehicle for two couples and a driver who was very knowledgeable about the route and sights along the way made the entire journey enjoyable. He gave us options of locations to stop along the way for coffee along the seaside, a local restaurant for lunch, hot springs to rest our feet, a castle and other points of interest. Meteora is a one of a kind remarkable place and this day is one of the highlights of our trip to Greece.
- Q4148OEadrianr00A good experienceDaphne is so lovely and helped us a lot, we learned a lot about miths with here. It was a really good experience!!
- Extraordinary79725600Excellent guide and driver in AthensCostas was a friendly and excellent driver and guide. He took us to all areas we wanted to visit. Recommend him highly to all visitors. Thank you so much.

There don’t seem to be enough buses. We waited for over an hour for a bus to Pireas while the red and yellow buses came and went, so we weren’t game to get off at Pireas for fear that we would never be picked up! We then had to wait over half an hour for an Athens line bus, which should come every 20 minutes, while 2 each of the red and yellow buses passed us. Several times the blue buses just stopped at random stops and sat there with the engine running for up to 10 minutes. A driver was even seen having a leisurely smoke beside his bus while customers waited.
They’re militant about not using your ticket for one minute longer than 48 hours, despite the fact that quite a lot of our second day was spent waiting a ridiculous amount of time for their buses, so we didn’t end up covering all the places we wanted to explore.
The commentary is extremely basic and provided very little information about the history of anything we drove past.
Having just done hop-on-hop-off buses in Budapest, Prague, Vienna, Berlin and London, this was by far the worst we’ve encountered.

Dear Heather,
thank you for using our services.
Firstly we would like to inform you that the frequency during winter time for all hop on hop off companies is the same:
Every 20 min for the center line, every 90 min for the Piraeus line and 2 departures for the beach.
Moreover our time schedule is on our maps, signs and online. A map with all the details was given to you and it is also available in our buses the whole time.
Additionally our representatives inform all of our clients for the exact schedule and departures.
That means you were informed properly for the product you bought. Most of our passengers get on and get off easily in Piraeus following the schedule with the exact departures.
In conclusion our representatives did not allow to use your ticket for than 48 hours because your ticket was valid for exact 48 hours. If you needed an extension ticket you could ask them.
Best regards,

It was an absolute waste of money! We took a three day ticket. The city tour takes you around areas that you easily access walking (we did and we are traveling with small children). We wanted to hear about all the exciting monuments, places and history of ATHENS and the information was poor and very little.
The tour to the Pireus and to the beach felt mostly like a bus transfer with hardly any explanations, and those that were given were absolutely useless.
It was by far the worst bus tour I have ever taken. Download an audio guide and walk or take public transport instead.

First, they sold us 2-day tickets without telling us that on the second day the city center would be closed for several hours for a bike race, and they had to do a loop outside of their usual route, which of course included several places we wanted to go. We could still walk downtown, which is what we did. Second, they say they are new buses and claim to be air conditioned, but you couldn't prove it by me! It was probably 90 degrees or more inside (32 Celsius), which is much too hot for "air conditioning". The top level is not covered, so we had our choice of baking inside or broiling outside. When the bus was moving, there is obviously a breeze on top but when it is stopped, the sun was relentless. Third (speaking of stopping), they would stop for 10 minutes or more at certain places, probably to space the buses out properly. This happened at least three times, and we didn't use the bus much. In the end, we ate our losses and mostly walked. I don't know if the red buses were better - I think that's a different company - but these are the blue and yellow ones. The red ones at least were covered on top. (Wish I had noticed that difference before buying our tickets.) We've used Hop On Hop Off buses in many cities around the world and generally really appreciate them. This was our first bad experience with one.

I met Vasilis (Thalassinos) and spoke about the different tours and I chose for the hop on hop off bus within the city, Pireus and the beaches. He was really helpful and he gave me lot of info, and on my last day he was also giving me tips about regular bus strike and the manifestation in the city! Really nice and kind guy!!
The hop on hop off bus is always a nice way for me to go around a big city, and in this case, the price was also really competitive! Thanks Vasilis!

This bus ride was disappointing. The stops were fine, but the audio commentary was pretty limited. For the first couple stops the audio commentary was equivalent to riding the metro - they let you know which stop was next.
The audio was poor quality with a lot of static on multiple buses. Some seats didn’t even have headphone jacks.
The blue and yellow/green bus routes are limited so unless you are comfortable waiting 2-3 hours for the next pick-up, you may not want to hop off.
Finally, the combo tickets with tours must be collected from an agent. They won’t email you the tickets.
When asking about museum tickets not working at the museum, I was asked “why don’t you just buy them at the museum?”
I would not recommend this tour to others, but it did seem a little less crowded than the red bus.
I imagine this is better than taking chances on taxi drivers across the city.

My husband and I took the Hop on Hop off tour of Athens with a combination of half day tour to see the Temple of Poseidon and Sunset at Cape Sounio. While the 'Hop on Hop off' along the Athens streets was as most others of this kind in major cities, our experience with the Sunset at Cape Sounio was excellent - primarily due to the excellent tour guide Mr. Charalampos. Charalampos or Charis was very knowledgeable, friendly, engaging and caring. The numerous facts,/statistics along with the interesting stories from the Greek mythology he narrated kept all of us engaged pleasantly. It is particularly noteworthy that, although the headsets weren't working and the microphone too was non-cooperative, Charis neither lost patience nor enthusiasm. We recommend this tour to all who visit Athens and hope you get a good tour guide like Charis!😊

This experience was the worst we had come across. We gave up waiting for a connection after seeing hundreds of people waiting for the Blue Bus at Sintagma. Two blue bus reps couldn't handle the pressure of so many frustrated customers, they ended up rudely shouting at customers to line up for the next bus. The line was endless, it was terrible, I felt for tourists who had to rush back to their cruise ships. We didn't want to be treated in this manner, nor did we want to waste any more of our time. The money we spent on 2 tickets, 40 euro, we could have used to pay for taxis instead.

I want to say we have been to many countries and on many hop on hop off busses and Fotis was personable, welcoming and enjoyable to speak with making it a great experience. I would recommend anyone coming to Piraieus to take this option. Ask for Fotis he is great. There were very difficult people and pushing as well as aggressive but he remained calm and professional helping everyone in a very professional manner.

10/10, enjoyable and memorable experience. The views were incredible and a lovely atmosphere. There is an affordable and delicious restaurant nearby the temple, that we visited just before going up to the temple for a beautiful sunset. Our tour leader, Charalampos, was really knowledgeable and entertaining throughout the experience, and was happy to answer any questions. Would recommend :)

There are three bus tour companies; red, blue or yellow. It’s hard to know if they are all connected or not but this review if for the yellow bus which was called Gray Bus Tours 🤷🏻♂️.
Firstly, we got on at Piraeus and it goes from the Port Authority building. It was €20 each for a hop on hop off ticket for the whole city tour (which is completely different from prices quoted here).
Air-con downstairs, covered but open sided upstairs. The headsets worked well and the tour started pretty well. Be prepared for long periods of slow moving traffic, especially approaching the Acropolis. We had considered getting off here but the number of people trying to get on made us realise that staying on was a better option. We continued on to do the city tour which was fine but the seats started getting uncomfortable after an hour. Then we realised we were going back to the Acropolis where the narrow streets were almost impassable.
The great thing should be that we could hop off and pick up another bus later. We did this and strolled down a busy street to the next stop (Grand Hyatt Hotel and Intercontinental) where we waited over 25 minutes. Seeing the bus approach we tried to flag it down but it had no intention of stopping and sailed past at speed!! Disappointing.
We realised that the chances of picking another bus up was highly unlikely and the next stop was a real step on. So we ended up getting a taxi back to our Piraeus hotel for another €10.
Hope this helps others decide what to do. I think the tour company should be clearer about exactly where each bus is going and should definitely stop at each pick up point.

Do we have to get of the bus or can you stay on and just have a bus tour? Would that be 2 hours?
Planning to board at Pireaus port.

Yes we got on for that purpose and you are permitted to do that and it can take about that long. However we didn't receive any headphones for the actual historic information which made the fast and furious ride a waste of time and money.

My husband and I will be in Athens from 9/29/22 until 10/02/22 (pre-cruise). Most likely we’ll be staying in the Plaka district. Will the HOHO be in operation during that time and where could we catch it? Thanks.

We arrive on Norwegian Epic on Oct 10. What bus routes should we take and in what order to get from the port and make sure we utilize skip the line tickets we have separately purchased for Acropolis, Parthenon, and Temple of Zeus?
We have Hop on Hop off Classic Tour of Athens (blue bus).

I'll be arriving on a cruise the 1st of July early morning and will leave at 1800 hrs. Is the stop close to the port? Also, I plan to visit the Acropolis, meaning will hop off and pay for the tickets to get in. Will I still have time to continue looking around the amazing city?

I am thinking that the HOHO bus does stop at the cruise terminal. You will need to send a message to the company to find out the location.
It is an additional 10 euro fee to get into the Acropolis. We also bought into an hour long guided tour for an additional 20 euro each, which was well worth it! The guide was offering her tour to those standing in line to purchase tickets to get into the Acropolis.
Once the guided hour long tour was over you could stay there as long as you wanted or head right back to the HOHO bus to continue the ride around the city.
I'm thinking the entire HOHO route takes 2 hrs.

Two questions...Can you begin your tour at any stop?
And second...Once you buy your tickets, do you purchase them for one line only, or can you do the orange route one day, then a different route the second day (if you get a 48 hour ticket)?

I am not sure I understand how much time you are saying you will have to tour the city. To use the hop off/hop on bus tour you should plan on 4 hours at least. The museum, market center and palace were some of our favorite stops.
