Informative, Fun and Lots of Great Food
My husband and I enjoyed every minute of the Greek Food Walking Tour in Athens. Our guide Dorella provided great information and local color. She did a great job of describing the places (and food) where we stopped to eat, along with lots of insight as we walked around. We had already gotten to know the Plaka area pretty well, so it was exciting to learn about the surrounding neighborhoods and get more of a where the locals eat experience.

Amazing tour!! We were offered so much to eat we left the tour feeling stuffed and even had treats wrapped up in our bag for later! Our guide was funny and charming and the food was to die for! Definitely do not eat breakfast before you go otherwise you’ll regret it! Highlight of our trip.

      Absolutely good food!!
Whether you're a history buff or simply curious about Athens, this tour is a must. Dora's knowledge made our exploration of Athens an enriching and unforgettable experience. The food was so good, so be sure to come hungry!! Highly recommend it to anyone visiting this incredible city. Bonus Tip: Wear comfortable shoes, as there's a fair bit of walking involved. Don't forget your sunscreen and a hat, especially during the hot summer months!

      Athens walking food tour
This was our first ever food tour and I must say that the bar has been set pretty high on expectations. Daphne made us feel very comfortable and was very informative on the city’s history and its food culture. Highly recommend her to anyone that’s coming to Athens for the first time in a small group.

Fantastic Tour you do not want to miss!
We went on the food walking tour with Anna. As mentioned you will want to be really hungry when you go on this tour, and should pace yourself for the amount of food experiences. Anna was a great guide who showed us the true taste of Athens, with many different varieties of food. If you like food and want to get a feel for the culture you will not want to miss this one. Anna also sent recommendations to us for other good places to eat and drink while in Athens.

A must do tour when in Athens!
Fabulous tour of this incredible site, with our enthusiastic, humorous and knowledgeable guide Margarita. The audio earphones to hear her clearly in the crowds were also good. It took about 2 hours with plenty stops to learn more about the amazing acropolis. Despite being the 1730 tour at the end of May, it was still pushing 30 deg C so take plenty water! (there is a water fountain near the end of the tour). Highly recommended!

Holy smokes!!! If you are in Athens and you like food this is the tour for you! Our guide Nikoletta was amazing. She was so knowledgeable and down to earth. Plus she knows everyone! You really feel like you are having an authentic Greek experience with her. And the food she picked truly is the best!

Food Tour Experience of the Century!
What a perfect introduction to Athens on our first full day here! Alexandra, our tour guide, was fun, informative, and overall lovely. Our small group of strangers soon bonded under her enthusiastic introduction to all kinds of Greek food, from Greek coffee to baked goods, salads, and cheeses to wine and olive tasting to gyros. Informative walking tour through the popular eating area in Athens. Highly recommend her (and this tour)! Thank you Alex, we loved every minute!

We've taken a number of cooking classes over the years, and Chef Stamatis was our favorite leader to-date. He provided the perfect blend of cooking instruction, humor, his own personal history, local recommendations, and the history of the ingredients and dishes. We also liked that he maximized audience participation. We felt like we and the other attendees executed most of the meal with his supervision (and his prep work in advance). He even sat down and ate with us afterwards, and he was just a very relaxed and pleasant person to hang out with.

Stam was a perfect host, with a warm welcome, significant cooking knowledge, informative in Greek history and culture, and a great teacher. Together with three other couples we managed to produce a very impressive and tasty array of local dishes, devoured in the well positioned top floor restaurant with a lovely backdrop of the Acropolis. The location is within a charachterful neighbourhood that was bustling on our departure, time for a post meal drink in a local bar.......

We were blessed to have a small group of just my wife and I along with one other couple. Fotis was an excellent instructor and his years of experience in the culinary industry as both an accomplished Chef and Instructor, was very evident. He did a great job of not talking over our heads. He allowed everyone to participate equally in the meal prep as he explained the techniques as well as options to ingredients for the various dishes. I also appreciated him being very real and down to earth to the point of sharing with us stories of his family. Note: I expect to see his daughter leading a YouTube cooking class in the near future! So cute! Thanks for sharing.
The roof top location on a beautiful day in Greece was icing on the cake!

In this hands-on class, our group of nine prepared five dishes. Much of the basic prep work like washing spinach had been done in advance to enable preparing five dishes in the time frame. The chef / instructor was personable and engaging. Every course had dairy products. If you are lactose intolerant, it was possible to reduce the cheese or bechamel sauce in your individual dish. We were surprised that having a glass of wine with dinner was an additional cost. There was an excellent view of the Acropolis at dinner.

Absolutely brilliant experience - would thoroughly recommend this to anyone coming to Athens. We learnt to make 5 dishes with an experienced and charismatic chef, we all got involved and had a great time! Then eating our food in the roof top bar with Acropolis views was the icing on the cake. Stamatis our chef also took the time to give us recommendations for places to go to and eat and drink for the rest of the trip which we really appreciated too. 5 star experience!

We had a fun an educational experience with a group of friends at this class. Stam was not only able to teach us how to create the dishes, but much of the history and background.

We were a large group, but Stam was able to keep everyone engaged. Different individuals took on various tasks at his instruction. There were also portions where everyone was creating their own items. He was careful to give everyone opportunities, but nothing was too complicated. The class took about 3 hours to prepare the meal.

After the class we moved to another room with a fantastic view of the Acropolis all lit up and an old movie projected on a building across the way. In addition to the food you prepared, you can order wine, beer, and cocktails (not included). They also offer a wine pairing.

This was a fun and great learning experience. If you’re also staying at The Artist Athens, you will have an easy walk “home”.

This was really fun. The chef leading us through the cooking class was engaging and fun. He also did a good job of knowing when to prepare things ahead of time for us (spinach and pastry dough), when to prepare things in one pan for the group (browning meat), and when to do things Individually during the class. I also really liked how he encouraged us to put some type of design on our food so that we would know it was ours. That way, after it was cooked, we knew we were eating the food we actually prepared.

I also enjoyed that we did this in a restaurant. My wife and I ordered wine to enjoy while we cooked and then drank it with dinner. Very fun experience !!

My only con was that In the early part of the class we were basically watching the chef/instructor while one person did something like stirred a pan. It was getting a bit boring. Personally I ended up being the person not asked to do some part of the cooking (stirring, mixing, cutting), which was fine, but not that exciting. It was an hour into it before we all started doing individual preparations and it got much more fun after that.

Eating dinner with the Acropolis view was also quite nice.

They said they would email us the recipes we prepared , which I haven’t gotten yet after two week, but I’m certain that they will send when I contact them shortly.

Wow this cooking class was amazing. A highlight of our visit to Athens where we learnt about & made traditional Greek food. Stam the Chef shared his expertise and guided us in making the dishes. He was enthusiastic, entertaining, energetic and a great teacher. It was a great experience.
We highly recommend this class and thoroughly enjoyed the dinner on the roof top after where we ate our culinary delight which we had made.
    Thanks again

What a fantastic experience! From his expert instruction to his deft storytelling, peppered with history, regional references and mythology. Chef Stam knows how keep a group engaged AND on task! He’s funny and personable, assisted quite capably by Chef George, who proved equally endearing and skilled. In the end, we enjoyed a delicious Greek meal (that we made!) of tzatziki, Aegean salad, spinach pie, moussaka and milk pie, with a group of new friends, in the majestic shadows of the uplit Acropolis - and we learned so much about Greek cuisine. Looking forward to trying to recreate some of these dishes at home!☺️

It was a delightful time with Stam! He was patient and enthusiastic about his family recipes. We were a diverse group of people from France and all over the USA. When the class finished, we were all connected through the delicious food. Every one helped celebrate my 16 year olds granddaughter's birthday with candle and singing. Stam's staff put in the prep work before the class so very little chopping for us. Lots of fun!
