- Tubbytummy0 contributionsMust do tourNot sure if this is correct review location Chat Tours from Athens to Delphi one day English Tour. We meet at Hotel Alameda ( or similar spelling). , this had a few windows broken following student tantrums. It was an early start Staff at hotel very welcoming and advised us in correct location and to wait in area, the are toilets downstairs Chap came round and checked us if list and a modern air con coach arrived. Rules are no food or drink on coach water only. I think alright in your bag but not to be eaten on coach. However due to this the coach was spotless, so there’s the reason. Long drive out with a toilet stop, no toilets on coach or USB points. Yoti (apologies for name) was giving information all the time both about Greece and myology. She very enthusiastic and happy to answer questions. I like the way she really made expectations clear. Eg. 30 mins here so met here at xxx time. She say this several times. We all know there is always one. On site she again very considerate speed of walking as few of us older. As well as clear instructions meet times. The actual information she giving out was constant too, This was done via Bluetooth ear pieces, which she checked every ones before we got of coach. Sensible shoes and bottle of water essential for walk around site. We also had some free time then meet up at the museum. Toilets at museum, no drinking water fountain seen or on the find drinking water apps. Museum entry on the same ticket from main site so keep your ticket . Again tour inside insightful Then off to lunch. We did not want tour lunch ( can be fussy). So opted not to have it. We were dropped of in town again clear unambiguous meet instructions given. Ended up in local bar. Pickup as stated then drive back for early evening about 1900 hrs. I really liked the way Yoti brought the Greek myology to the present day. This linkage was really great.Written March 10, 2025
- L_K15090 contributionsGreat tourTour to Delphi in English from Athens. Organisation of the tour was very good. We met at the hotel pick up point and left on time. Coach was comfortable with air conditioning. Our guide, Yota (10/3/25) was friendly, professional from start to finish. I cannot imagine there is anything she does not know about Greek history and mythology. Without Yota explanation Delphi would have been difficult to understand. There are a few signs but not enough to bring the place to life. Clear instructions provided at each site and meeting points. I would recommend the tour. Tip! Delphi is on a hill side, lots of steps and uneven surfaces. Bring comfortable shoes and water, as there is no facilities at the site ( there is at the museum)Written March 10, 2025

- Bet-Hanan0 contributionsInteresting trip, don't book the lunch.Delphi is well worth a visit and this was undoubtedly a hassle free way to do it. We were collected on time and kept to the timetable without feeling rushed which can happen on bus tours. The guide, Averkius, was knowledgeable and explained well if somewhat slowly, as if speaking to unintelligent people. We're world travellers on trips like this, give us some credit. He laughed at his own unfunny comments continuously. He also failed to thank our driver, Nikos (?) who drove us patiently all day with a terrible traffic jam at the end of the day. A farewell thank you was definitely in order. Lunch, this has to be the absolutely worst meal I've ever eaten in Greece, and this is my 6th visit! We asked for vegetarian and were given spaghetti with a tasteless sauce. I recommend that you don't take the lunch option and eat in the village. Was it worth it? Yes, the convenience factor overrides the disadvantages.Written February 5, 2025

- E2714KRrichards0 contributionsEducational and pleasant Delphi with Greek history lessons. Our docent, Dimitria, possessed exceptional knowledge of ancient Greek history and language. Her tutorials at Delphi, and descriptions of ancient Greek life, were lucid and enjoyable. She presented explanations of various myths (Oedipus and Demeter) and lessons which ancient people would recognize. She is an excellent tour guide, and pleasant to engage. The off-season (31JAN2025) commute from Athens to Delphi required ~3H one way. No snow to complicate bus travel. One ding -- no WiFi on small commuter bus, but there are USB ports to charge your phone.Written February 1, 2025
- Dream004734105760 contributionsFantastic day trip to DelphiAn excellent day trip from Athens to Delphi - our guide brought the history to life, told us legends, and informed us about things we saw on the way. Delphi is AMAZING - incredibly picturesque scenes, interesting classical remains (Greek and Roman), beautiful parkland to walk through, and the modern village where we stopped for lunch is delightful. We chose to find our own lunch in Delphi and there were plenty of choices, including restaurants with stunning views over the valley to the sea. The van was comfortable, which was good since it’s about 3 hours each way and we got picked up and dropped off at a hotel close to where we are staying. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and highly recommend this provider.Written January 24, 2025
- Gloria G0 contributionsWell worth itThis is a long trip, but well worth it. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and, doing it in January meant the crowds were small. Do get the lunch … it is delicious and there is A LOT of food.Written January 15, 2025
- 437jamil0 contributionsLearned a lot, but a long dayIt was really interesting learning all about the history and seeing the area. The tour guide was great and we enjoyed the museum. Lunch was tasty and really filling so I recommend that option. Main downside is that it's a really long day at 10+ hours but we found it worth it.Written January 9, 2025
- Total-Biz-Traveller0 contributionsThe Mycenae Archeological site worth for history buffsMycenae, Mikines, Archeological Site Our final stop is the archeological site of Mikines, (there are several spellings of this place, am confused, guessing the Greek are as well, haha) Nice slow walk up the mountain, not too bad, less strenuous than the other sites we visited! But it appears that the one and only point of real interest is the Lion Head, beside of course the various remnants of this site, clearly explained in the various tablets/signs well positioned as appropriate! We got our fill of history on Greece on this trip, although I know there are many more to be explored, but just that there is never enough time! But we got a great idea & exposure which is what it was all about! Credit to Greeka.com: The Mycenaean Acropolis in Kolymbithres Paros: The hill overlooking Kolymbithres is the site where remains of the Mycenaean Acropolis are found from the 13th century BC. Parts of the remains were brought to light in 1975 by archaeologist Dimitris Skilardis. #magicalholidays#thetourist #greece #athens #holidaysurprise #mycenae #mikinesWritten December 20, 2024
- V9318OGmichaelw0 contributionsA day cruise you won't want to miss! This was such a great time. It was both my birthday and our 30th anniversary, and we decided to celebrate by touring some of the small islands along the coast of Greece. The day was pretty much perfect, the lunch bountiful and delicious, and the entertainment/dancing near the end of the tour was goofy and fun (the dancers were great: we were the goofy ones). The islands visited by the cruise may be less known than Santorini or Mykonos; however, they have equal and abundant charm. We upgraded because of the special occastion, and it was worth every euro! We were accommodated well, and one of the staff--Costas--treated us like royalty, anticipating everything we needed for a comfortable and exciting voyage. Nothing but great things to say about this experience.Written December 20, 2024

Beautiful scenery landscapes on the way there & to the beautiful sea.the clouds over Poseidon made a gorgeous portrait that made you think of heaven. The sunset was absolutely breathtaking . I was able to get shots of my grandson with sunset in the distance for his graduation pictures. Our exsperiance there was even more than I could have imaged.i hope to go back again someday and take more granchildren.Written December 15, 2024

I love Greek history and traveled solo to Greece. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and we saw most of Athens. Seeing most of the ancient history of Athens and the Acropolis Museum was absolutely incredible and a great introduction to Ancient Greek history. We passed by a few temples I would've liked to spend time in (the Temple of Zeus for example) that I went to during my free time at lunch. I think as an introduction it's an amazing trip but you definitely need a bit more time to really dive into Athens if you're a history buff!
Thank you!

The tour of Athens was good and the Acropolis is spectacular, but the tour guides speaker system did not work well, meetup instructions were very vague, and you need to be able to walk quickly to keep up with the guide. The slower walkers in our group were simply left behind.
Cape Sounion is interesting but the drive is long for what there is to see.

Yes, you’ll see the Parthenon. And yes, there’s a scenic drive to the Temple of Poseidon. But this is a standard bus tour with grouchy tour guides and passengers bewildered by the confusing instructions and lack of organization. This is a combo of two separate tours with different vehicles and guides, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The pickup locations are unclear and I could not get a response from the office prior to the tour.

We were extremely excited for this trip but unfortunately it was the worst experience we had as the tour guide lady, Illia, was one the most racist person we met in Greece. She was trying to guess from which country we were from and trying to humiliate by saying "Are you allowed to wear these clothes in your country (just a top and skirt). Ohh I thought you are wearing burkas in your country" (she was trying to mock).
She was absolutely the most ignorant person we met in Greece and it is even a shame for Greek people to have this lady as a representative of their country. It is even surprising that the ministry of tourism of Greece even allows this kind of people to be tour guides.
Additionally, Illia gave so little information, lucky we had a background on Greek architecture and history but the historical information part was a disaster.
We would never ever recommend this trip as long as the tour guide, Illia, guides this tour. It is very disappointing and unfortunate.

We had an amazing experience, especially during the tour of the Acropolis. Dora was very knowledgeable about the history of Greece in relation to the Acropolis, as well as all of the sites we passed along the way! There was some fuss about the static in the devices that allowed you to hear the guide from the back of the group, but that is expected with the number of people around in separate groups who had similar devices. (I suspect hearing aid interference as well.) All in all, Dora is the standard at which we will hold any future guide, and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour!!

The morning part of the tour was a great way to get a nice overview of Athens very quickly. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helped us understand what we were looking at so that we could visualize what was there hundreds of years ago. The afternoon bus ride out to Poseidon's Temple was filled with beautiful scenery followed by a concise explanation of the area and its significance.

Two part your, first half day at Acropolis and Acropolis museum and city drive past etc. Tour guide Dora was just magnificent, fountain of knowledge delivered in an engaging manner, could never have done this ourselves. Second half day was your to Cape Sounion, this basically 3 hours driving in round trip and 1 hour at ruins. Good to have drive along coast, but unless you really are into archeological sights, not really worth the time. Different guide did your in English and French, so if you lost concentration, sometimes did not realised she had changed back to english.

In 3 weeks in Greece this had to be the worst experience we had. So sad we wasted our last day and almost $400 on this tour. The guide only cared about herding us like cattle and wanted to get the day over with. I feel like we could have done everything ourselves. I’m wanting a refund as the price is not any way indicative of the experience. STAY AWAY.

We chose hotel pick up so the meeting time is 7:30am but the driver arrived 7:45am then we went to hotel Amalia to pick up other tourists and wait till 8:30am. The first stop is in the city of Athens, the tour guide is good. She explained well the history but not that lively. Anyway we went to acropolis Parthenon and museum. We finished at 1pm and they drop everybody in their respective hotel and the second part of tour is at 2:30pm. We didn’t go in the second part. We just get tired and still adjusting on time zone.

I am arriving in athens on a royal caribbean cruise. I am interested in this sightseeing tour and would like to know the start time as well as end time of this tour. I would need to be back to the ship by 6pm
Written November 14, 2018
I would recommend contacting the tour company directly. Most of the tour companies have half-day tours. Keys tours does a half day Athens city, which can be combined with the Acropolis and Acropolis Archeological Museum. This starts at 0800 or so, and you finish at the museum whenever you want. The tour at the museum starts at 1200 or so. I found I wanted more time on the Acropolis, so had to come back later for more. Most people are satisfied with the amount of time on the Acropolis.
Written November 21, 2018
Do you have an evening tour.
Written July 26, 2018
It depends on which tour you are doing. The ½ day Athens tour ends around 1300. The tour to Sounio gets you back to your hotel by 1800 or so. The day tour to Delphi gets you back to your hotel around 1900. The day cruise to the Sardonic islands (Hydra, Poros and Aegina) gets you back to your hotel by 1930. These times are what happened for us, the tours try to not rush you too much, so there is some variability.
