We booked this tour expecting an authentic "live like a local" experience as advertised, but unfortunately, the first attempt was a complete disappointment. Our original guide, David, admitted at the start that he had lied about speaking English well, making communication nearly impossible. This was especially frustrating given that the tour was advertised as English-speaking, and we had expected to be able to ask questions throughout. Despite our request to avoid touristy spots and see hidden gems, David took us to overcrowded attractions, including churches (which we specifically said we didn’t want to visit) and a market that was actually a food court filled with tourists. After struggling to communicate via a translation app and realizing the tour was not improving, we ended it just two hours into a five-hour tour to avoid wasting more time. After we told David we were ending the tour, he became visibly distressed, overly apologetic, and begged us to wait while he called his boss. He then contacted Paulo, his supervisor (who we believe was actually supposed to take us on the tour originally). Paulo offered to personally take us on a tour the next day. This second experience was significantly better, and we did get to see much of what we originally wanted—though not everything. Several times, we asked to get away from the beaches and explore more of the inner city, particularly neighborhoods where we might want to live. However, Paulo kept us along the coastline, ignoring our request. While we appreciate the effort to make amends, we still lost two days on what should have been a five-hour experience. Additionally, we found it very uncomfortable that Paulo specifically asked us not to leave a review about David and to only review him. It felt like he was trying to guilt us into pretending the first tour never happened, which was both unprofessional and frustrating. We had placed a lot of significance on this tour because we are planning to move to Porto, and we had been encouraged—as part of the tour’s advertisement—to share our interests in advance so they could customize the experience for us. Unfortunately, the lack of proper planning made it clear that our needs were not genuinely considered. Overall, while Paulo attempted to rectify the situation, we cannot overlook the poor planning and lack of preparedness in assigning a first-time guide who was not equipped to deliver the experience promised. David was very kind, but he should never have been placed in that situation. If you book this tour, we highly recommend confirming in advance who your guide will be to ensure they can truly provide what’s advertised.

Very nice experience. Comfort of having a private tour is great. Paulo, our driver/tour guide, was pleasant. He brought us to the best restaurant in Braga. Highly recommend!

We had a great day visiting the Douro Valley with our guide, Paulo. We cruised down the Douro river, had lunch in a local restaurant and did a port tasting at a vineyard. We also went to two different viewing points and the views were really spectacular. We were picked up and dropped back to our villa and Paulo even waited for us to pop into a supermarket on the way home. All in all a first class day.

The tour office worked with me on the itinerary, and my guide David helped me to see and do all the things on it. I especially enjoyed the boat ride on the canals at Aveiro, trying (and liking) eel stew at Restaurante O Telheiro, and sampling "soft eggs" pastries at the bakery. I would definitely take another tour with FeelGo.

We had a wonderful time visiting Douro Valley region. Amazing scenic views….winding roads with terraces vineyards looked so beautiful! Made stops in Amarante, Lamego & visited Quinta Bomfim in Pinhão. The view from Galafura was the best. Our trip was more enjoyable because of our excellent tour guide/driver, Rodolfo. He made sure we got to see what we wanted. He was kind, understanding and courteous.
