Loved this tour, great way to see the city. Got to see beautiful views of the city and ride next to the river at sunset, so the afternoon/evening tour gets my recommendation. Not for the faint of heart, you'll be riding on busy, cobbled roads with buses and cars, but it's worth it! The group leaders were easy to follow and really nice.

Very good guide, Valter was fun, relaxed and shows you the spots you will probably miss yourself. Porto is beautiful going from the highs of the monestary right down to the river, passing through the small authentic Porto streets. With the bikes you can travel with ease, even steep slopes are a breeze as the bikes are electric.
The tour is not cheap at 35 euro with five persons coming in at 180 but totally worth it. You get a warm and professional welcome, a high quality bike, water, a stop for a nice coffee and a delicious pasteis de nata (love those) and most important of all a professinal fun guided tour.
We even went for dinner with Valter afterwards in which he took us to a beautiful local restaurant.

Wonderful tour past all the highlights of this beautiful city. Good thing the tour uses E-bikes cause at times it's very, very steep. Bikes are great though.
Our guide Stephen (Rotterdam waar legt dat dan???) did a great job: explained everything quite clearly and give lots of extra info (during and after the tour via mail). He kept an eye out to make sure all participants could keep up and travel safely through the city.
In short: great tour with a great guide ! Highly suggest it

In hindsight, why would it be a good idea to do a bike tour in a city of steep hills and crowded, narrow (and sometimes wet) cobblestone streets? Sure, the electric bike helps going up, but every downhill is completely riding on brakes. The guide started by informing us that our bikes were old and very used, and city drivers were crazy, and “this is not a bike-friendly city”. An inauspicious start! Also, the guide has no microphone or any system to communicate with the group other than at the occasional stops so you are unable to hear directions and must gather in close to hear (difficult with everyone on a bike). After losing control on a downhill because the front brakes weren’t working, my 22-year-old son raised the mechanical issue with the guide. She told him it was fine and he should just use the back brakes alone, and accept that bike wasn’t in great condition. However, back brakes alone couldn’t prevent skidding in the damp streets. He offered to trade bikes with the guide but she said she didn’t feel comfortable riding the bike with one set of non working brakes (but was Ok for him to ride). Of course, no other rider wanted to change out to a broken bike and we weren’t going to continue (after only 20 min) without our full family. Guide said she would order a van to pick up bikes but had no way to get a replacement bike or fix his. We left the tour but others had to wait over 30 min for van to arrive to pick up the broken bike. When we asked for a refund, tour operator only provided 20% refund for our group of five even though we all had to leave the tour. We are 5 experienced bike riders (not Tour de France, but casual weekend riders) and this was FAR from enjoyable. Better to just tour the sites you want to see instead of riding past them in rickety bikes while dodging traffic and pedestrians. Skip this trip!!!

Dear customer,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We deeply regret to hear about the difficulties and safety concerns you encountered during the bike tour, especially regarding the condition of the bicycles and the challenges of navigating the city's terrain. It’s clear that this experience did not meet the high standards of service and safety we aim to provide.
Hearing about the guide's advice concerning the bike's brakes and the subsequent handling of the situation is particularly concerning. Safety should always be our foremost priority, and it seems we fell short in this instance. We take your observations seriously and will use them to review our equipment maintenance procedures and guide training programs to ensure a safer, more enjoyable experience for all participants.
While we understand your disappointment and frustration, especially given the impact on your family's enjoyment of the tour, we're committed to learning from your experience. We aim to improve our tour offerings and ensure our guides are better equipped to handle equipment issues effectively and prioritize our guests' safety.
We appreciate your candidness in bringing these issues to our attention. If you’re open to discussing your experience further, we’d welcome the chance to hear more about how we can make improvements. Your insights are invaluable in helping us enhance our tours for future guests.
Thank you again for your feedback.

Our Electric bike tour guide was Ella who lived in the beautiful of Porto. It was a delight to be safely guided by a young local who knew the city and its history naturally. We stopped for complimentary coffee and pastries where we also chatted a short while about lifestyles
An absolute joy ! Thanks Ella x
We will try the Segways next time

Corona review: This trip was made during the end of june 2020. The bike was disinfected, the handles were wrapped in cling-wrap and the tourguide took every measurement (masks, hand-gel, ...)
Tour review: My mother and me (62 years and 34 years young) just returned from a 4 day holiday in Porto. The first day we took the city bike tour and that is the best way to get a good view of Porto and the mayor sites. The tour guides were very nice and professional. The bikes are very good and well maintained. My mother had troubles with the gear and could not ride any more. The second guide gave her bike to my mother so we could continue the tour. I would book again! Thank you for the perfect start to our citytrip!

Awesome tour with a friendly guide!! We covered a ton of ground and sightseeing in the 3 hour tour with our guide, Andreia, who made sure the group was still together and doing ok since people were at different biking levels. She provided good snippets and history on each stop. It also provided for a lot of instagrammable photo opps, if you’re into that. We were worried upon first arriving in Porto and seeing how hilly it is, not unlike the city of San Francisco, and forgetting that we booked ebikes instead of regular bikes. But this was such a smooth ride with ebikes and it handled the hills with no problem! Andreia also gave a comprehensive list of recommended dining spots, and also some nightlife spots to check out. All in all, this bike tour was a great preview of what areas to visit in Porto.

We were a bit disappointed with this tour. We expected more enthusiasm from the guide and riding some more around the city, especially since we were on an electric bike. The tour was far too slow and sometimes awkward but just fine.
Read many of the reviews and after being on the tour and renting our own bikes, we figured this was just far too little for too much time. You can cover so much more in 3 hours by yourself around Porto and Gaia and the beaches.
If you’re here for a short time, go around town on Bird (electric scooters) or rent your own. This isn’t worth it, I’m sorry to say.
Maybe there are other better guided bike tours that are more informative and cover more interesting places.

Dear customer,
Thank you for sharing your feedback on your experience with our tour. We apologize for not meeting your expectations in terms of the guide's enthusiasm and the pace of the tour.
Your comments regarding the tour being too slow and not covering enough ground, especially with the use of electric bikes, are duly noted. We understand the importance of maximizing time and exploring as much as possible, particularly for those with limited time in Porto.
We appreciate your suggestion to explore Porto and Gaia independently using electric scooters or renting bikes. Your feedback about seeking out alternative guided bike tours that may offer more informative and interesting routes is also valuable to us.
We apologize for any disappointment caused and thank you for bringing these points to our attention. Your feedback will help us improve our tour experiences for future guests. If you have any further comments or if you would like to discuss this matter further, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly.
Thank you for considering our tour, and we hope you have a more enjoyable experience exploring Porto and its surroundings in the future.
Best regards,

Do we need to buy tickets ahead of time to enter Livraria Lello? Are we able to buy tickets on the same day if we want to enter Livraria Lello?
Written November 25, 2022
It’s cheaper to buy on line. But when I was there a sign had a QR icon to allow on line purchase. The web purchased line is shorter. The entrance cost is not included in the bike tour. None of our group did the tour so we all just biked on. I’m not sure the tour would wait for you if you entered.

Can my daughter 9 years old (bicycle proficient) and my son 5 (thinking infant seat best) take part in the tour?
Written April 28, 2022
I’m not sure if they have bike small enough for a nine-year-old. It’s also about figuring out how to use the electric portion of the bike that may be a little challenging but maybe not if they’re proficient. And I did see some bikes with infant seats. We had about 10 people on our tour and with a guide in front and a guide in back, if you decide to go I would keep my child close to you because you are riding in the street.
