It started a little chaotically as many tours leave from the same spot and there was no clear direction. We just all milled about in the rain. However after we got in the van the driver Manuel and the guide Ricardo did an excellent job. As a team they were informative, funny, and gave clear instructions. As a tip bring your own water and snack to avoid the rush at the first pitstop. The first vineyard was an excellent tasting. The second one also provided lunch of potatoes, grilled pork and steak. Food was good the wine at the first vineyard Croft was better. The boat trip was peaceful but just a simple trip up the river and back with no guide. I used it for a nap. All in all we enjoyed ourselves and learned a little about port wine and what we personally preferred.

The trip was excellent but the best part was our brilliant guide Tania and our superb driver Josef. They made our day enjoyable, fun and memorable. Thank you!

The tour itself is just okay. It is fast paced and I wish we had more time to explore each location. Our tour guide Paulo was extremely rude and had a sour attitude from the very beginning of the tour. He did not have many answers to people’s questions. He made multiple “emergency” stops without explanation. He also showed favouritism to some tour participants by dropping them off wherever they asked. These drop off points delayed everyone else on the tour’s return. We explained this to him and he dismissed us. The boat ride in Aveiro that is included with the tour was very nice.

Our guide Daniel was great, wine and food was excellent, but boat ride was a bit boring. Would have preferred to save the hour and be back in Porto sooner

Great day, Tanya our guide was friendly and engaging and knowledgable about the areas we visited. The Douro region is stunning and well worth a visit. Amazing three course meal with wine and coffee and finished the day at a beautiful vineyard sampling their Port. The journey there and back was very comfortable and smooth and Josef the driver negotiated the Porto traffic and mountain roads expertly. Would thoroughly recommend

A wonderful day! We were whisked around in a comfortable air conditioned mini bus by our lovely driver Sergio and Guide Castro. The tour started in Porto, from where we were driven through the beautiful Douro countryside, first to the pretty town of Amarante for breakfast. From there we visited a family run Quinta for a delicious lunch and a brief tour of their wine making facility. Delicious food, great wine and a knowledgeable and entertaining host made for a great experience! Onto the tour of the Port House. We visited Croft, impressed! Visit Included a tour of the vineyard, winemaking facility, and tasting. Lots of learning and fun! Afterwards a boat trip on the Douro river completed a fantastic day!! Highly recommend this experience. I have a serious dairy allergy and Castro our guide really made sure I was able to eat without any problems. All round brilliant.

Had the pleasure to visit Duoro Valley on a day trip led by guide Castro and driver Sergio. Castro was eager to share knowledge about the region, port wine and landscapes. He also kept the group engaged throughout the tour with his sense of humour and constant reminder to interact with each other. I learnt a great deal about port wine from this tour. Also important to mention is the scrumptious lunch - the welcome drink was unforgettable and we were subsequently served delicious meats grilled over wood fire, paired with 2 types of wine. The vibes over lunch were really warm and everyone was very relaxed while singing along with the music being played. We traveled to and fro Duoro Valley safely thanks to skillful navigation by Sergio (we passed by a vehicle that flipped over on the freeway probably due to the sudden downpour). It was a pleasure to always return to the coach to find a friendly Sergio greeting us with a smile. This was a happy experience for me. I recommend anyone interested to know about wine, enjoy good food and make new friends to sign up for it!

We booked this trip at the last minute when another trip to the area was canceled due to the forest fires that arrived in the area as we did! We had a delightful day with Paulo ( our driver) and Cuber ( our guide) . Cuber’s explanations were interesting and easy to follow as he transitioned back and forth between Portuguese and English. The timing went well all day and there was time to relax at each stop. The only surprise was the sighting of some flamingoes along the way!! I recommend this tour group as they were organized , relaxed , timely and friendly!

Sergio, our driver, and Castro, our guide, were amazing! The lunch was great, and the wine tastings were amazing too! Oh, and the river cruise was an added bonus. Great tour! Highly recommend!

This was a beautiful tour of the Douro valley, with a stop off in Amarante, douro vintage for a wonderful lunch and croft vineyard for more port and a wonderful river tour. We had a wonderful tour guide Castro who was entertaining, attentive and captivating. Our driver Sergio was great also. The whole day was excellent value for money and I can't recommend enough.

Castro is a very energetic guide and keeps us engaged with his sharing. Meanwhile Sergio is a safe driver and was very friendly with everyone. First stop was at a small town called Amarante, where we got to soak in the atmosphere and look at the church. Following that are wine tastings at 2 different places. The tour provides a lot of port wine tasting and the lunch was amazing! The meat was cooked very nicely, and the setting was very homely and welcoming.

This is the best way to see the Douro Valley! We got to see a lot of hidden gems and each stop topped the next. It’s a must-do day trip. Castro and Sergio were amazing guides and brought both levity and knowledge to the day. Would definitely tell my friends and family to do this tour!
