We had the best day out! Pedro, our guide was engaging, spoke several languages, and always translated for everybody. The Mercedes van was comfortable, and Pedro had a great sense of humour and was really knowledgeable. The vineyard visits were excellent, the sights breathtaking and the food and wine superb. We highly recommend the tour! Great fun!

The all day trip to the Douro valley was so awesome! Our driver Tiago was incredibly knowledgeable and drove our 8 person group in comfort (A/C Mercedes van) to Amarante-Kilowatt Taverna/D’Origem winery/ boat cruise on the Douro River ,finishing withLunch and port tastings in a beautiful village where Magellan was born, Sabrosa. I truly have nothing bad to say - book this trip even if you don’t drink for the beautiful scenery and learned experience of the Douro region.

First off, a massive shout out to our guide Tiago!! He absolutely made the day with his knowledge of the various foods and wines on offer, the areas we explored and the history of Portugal as a nation. I went on the tour with an old pal from Aus and we made friends with the fabulous Irish couple on the way. Exploring the stunning scenery, eating the delicious local cuisine, and sampling a healthy about of the regions world class wines. There is no better way to experience the one of Portugals finest regions. Highly recommend to all!!

Our group of six had a wonderful tour of the Douro Valley with Pedro, who guided us through the day with his expert knowledge and keen sense of humor! He organized a seamless flow of events over many hours and miles that went off without a hitch! Thank you, Pedro! Highlights of the day included tasting wines while eating almonds and dipping bread into olive oil and then honey. Loved by many. Different to be sure! We found that each and every person that spoke to us at the various wineries was delightful and most eager to share their experiences and expertise. Lunch was delicious and served on a beautiful terrace in Sabrosa. There we learned how great it tastes to drink port wine and eat chocolate cake simultaneously! We also learned a great deal about the differences between tawny and ruby port. Then, at the picturesque and very old town of Amarante we experienced vinho verde with a tasty selection of curated ham and cheese at a charming little shop whose walls are covered by thousands of messages written by happy customers from all over the world. And, needless to say, the amazing views of the vineyards that surrounded us throughout the day were stunning! I've been on many guided tours over the years, and I can truly say that I now count this as one of my favorites!

From pick up to drop off at the end of the day this tour was an amazing experience. Tiago is a host with a unique ability to both inform about the Douro Valley but also get the group to know each other and create a better shared experience. Our group of 8 plus Tiago all felt like good friends by the end of the day. All 3 tastings were very good and in picturesque locations. There were stunning views of the valley and vineyards. The one hour boat ride was very relaxing and we were allowed and encouraged to bring wine from our tasting on board. It was an unexpected bonus that a vegan option for lunch was available for me. I came prepared with my own lunch but was happily surprised that I could save it for a dinner after the tour was over. It was such a special day that couldn’t have been as good without Tiago leading the way. He is a very outgoing, kind, and inclusive person without being overbearing and intrusive. If you can take this tour with him, you can be guaranteed to have many new friends and a life long memory afterward. As an extra bonus, 6 of the 8 members of our tour happened to run into each other at a wine bar in the evening after the tour. We were all marveling at the magical day we experienced together.

We did this tour today and our host / guide was Tiago Mendez. It was a true one-in-a-lifetime experience. From start to finish, the trip was wonderful communication with host was easy and we felt assured that all was going to go smoothly. The scenery is breathtaking, the wines wonderful the meal was superb in the most beautiful setting. Would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anybody. Must do when in Porto.

Pedro was an excellent and pleasant guide. The 2 wineries were beautiful. Lunch at the 2nd winery was like a movie set and it was delicious. Beautiful property. Boat ride was ok. Half hour out and turn around. Amaranth was really lovely.

The tour was amazing! We did many stops and tastings, beautiful places. Our tour guide was Antonio and he was the best tour guide we have ever had! He was very nice and explained everything. This tour definitely exceeded our expectations! We will be back for sure and recommend this tour to our friends!

Amazing tour guided by Antonio. All the stops are worth the trip and the boat tour is the cherry on top. I highly recommend it.

I had read many mixed reviews about day trips to the Duoro Valley but our day spent with Thiago was delightful. He was an excellent driver ( essential on the winding mountain roads!), a charming host and extremely knowledgeable about Portuguese history and winemaking. This was a great way to experience the beautiful Duoro region, taste local wines and have a great lunch. I would highly recommend.

We were batched with wonderful couples and had a grand time. Douro Valley has beautiful scenes and good wine and port to enjoy it with. Our guide, Tiago, made the experience even better by giving bits of information about the region, culture, lifestyle of the area, and most importantly, he drove us safely to and from wine tasting.
