- NOLAGirlNYTravels00TOTALLY WORTH IT!I’m a New Yorker, so I’ll get straight to the point… TAKE THIS TOUR! It was wonderful. It’s stress-free, informative and a lot of fun. My tour guide was a smart and handsome gentleman by the name of Antonio “Tony” Brãs. He’s not like other tour guides who can be brash and talk too much. His knowledge is deep and flows with ease. He gave us history and more recent stories. The ride was smooth, the locations were easy to maneuver, and people everywhere were so pleasant. The lunch was DELICIOUS! By the end, we all shared a drink (Tony had water). That’s a testament to all the good people who put this tour together, Tony’s guidance and the tourists who booked it.
- bejowo00wine tasting excursionVery pleasant outing with Paolo being a very sympathetic and easy going person and competent guide. Good value.
- BeatriceLandis00Simple beautifulRight from the beginning we felt very welcome and comfortable on the bustour, very safe driving, very interesting Information of the Dourovalley. The wineries we visited were great and the People every so kind, new information of the Portweine Production was explained. Lunch was served in a beautiful old winery. All in all an always remembered trip. Thanks again.
- shekhar070900Great valley with beautiful views and great winesA must visit for all visitors staying in Porto, a one day trip with some beautiful views along the Douro River and loads of great wines.
- crystalbH3011EN00Lovely time spentGreat food, wine and port tasting - also great service and a terrific view. The resident Newfie dog named Milka made us Canadians feel at home too! : )
- Francisco A00Great value!Had a great day in the Doura Valley. Our guide, Luis, arrived right on time and made the tour entertaining from start to finish. A very memorable experience that was one of the highlights of our trip!
- Marina B00Beautiful viewsWell organized tour, comfortable bus, beautiful views, very nice lunch. I would like more information about places that drove
- Relax62178400WONDERFULA TRIP TO REMEMBER .Beautiful and very scenic.Enjoyable cruise and wine tasting. A very well planned trip but can be improved on.making some stops forus to take some photos. Lunch was a little late.
- Jet6662412672800A wonderful trip to the portwine valleyOur guide Felipe was great! His descriptions have rounded off the great tour in a wonderful way. The sightseeing and the tastings were very good, as well as the boat trip and lunch. Felipe entertained the German and Italian speaking group with humor and ensured a smooth process. We gladly recommend the tour to the Duoro valley. If you visit Porto you should not miss this.
- canadianvisitor201500Douro is beautiful ... tour cut some cornersWe were so happy that we took this tour of the Duoro. The scenery is beautiful and we had some nice winetastings. We were surprised by a couple of things though. First there was a lot of driving to get to the Duoro Valley. The Duoro is about one hour from Porto, but it took about an hour just to pick up two couples in Porto. We were picked up at 8:10 and the first tour was at 10:30. There were two options at lunch. The fish was OK, but the meat stew was inedible.
- Michelle T00Beautiful tourOur tour guide Delfina was awesome. She picked us up promptly from our hotel and was very attentive to outlet needs. At one point my husband and I felt nauseous from the winding roads and she allowed us to sit up front and offered to stop if we needed to. The winery tour was very informative and while I’m not a fan of port we had fun tasting the different varieties. The boat ride was breathtakingly beautiful and the three course meal on the farm was delicious. They served red and white wine at lunch which was much appreciated.we would absolutely recommend this tour.
- scorpiogirl200Lovely day trip from PortoLet me start by saying that my husband are not big fans of organized tours or excursions. However, we knew we wanted to visit the Douro Valley one day during our stay in Porto. We looked at several options ( train travel, but they were working on the train tracks during our stay, meaning delays. Also car rental, but most of them close at 6 pm, which gives you less time, plus the driver can’t drink!) After comparing several tour organizers and different itineraries , we chose Magical Douro. We liked their schedule and the price seemed reasonable. The communication with them was good and at 8 am Sara picked us up from where we were staying, in a small Mercedes van. Her English ( and French ) were excellent. After having picked up some more guests (8 of us in total) we were on our way. The first stop was a winery, where we got to try two different ports, as well as bread, olive oil and jams. The tour through the winery was very informative. We then drove to a restaurant high on a hill top, with a fantastic view, where we got served a three course meal, accompanied by breads and white or red wine. The food was really good and we enjoyed it. After lunch we drove to Piñhao, where we boarded one of the boats for a lazy one hour ‘cruise’ on the Douro and they served us more port :) Back on the bus, we climbed higher and higher and the scenery was breath taking. We ended up at another winery, where we got to try 3 more wines and bread and honey. The setting was just amazing! After that we headed back towards Porto and we were ‘home’ just before 7 pm. It was a fantastic day out and we enjoyed every minute of it. I can totally recommend Magical Douro, and we were lucky to have a great tour guide. Thank you, Sara!
- mrsmpp00Touring The DouroPicked up in comfort with lovely Guide Tania she was friendly , knowledgeable and loved showing us the best of the country side and Wineries we appreciated her insights we would recommend this tour lots to see sample and purchase if needed however it is a very long day so be prepared Thank You Tania and good luck with your future
- Matthew M00An outstanding day tripThis was one of the best day trips i have been on. The value for money is great. You get so much. The lunch was particularly good. Not some cheap packed lunch but a proper 3 course meal. Also so much wine to try.
- Explorer4604138248800Amazing dayMy day in Douro was more than expected. Paulo was very very nice and the tour worth the price! I highly recommand this tour!

This tour was a huge disappointment. Instead of a minivan/minibus we had a huge group of 40 people in a bus where the AC did not work properly. The “guide” hardly talked about the history of the area or about anything worth knowing about the wine region, she just basically acted like a supervisor in charge of us not being late from anywhere. Well this was necessary because the schedule was more than tight and there was no time to enjoy the activities at all. She also never informed us about the next program or schedule, so we had mo idea what’s coming next. Her English language skills were also far from good - I doubt that she is licenced tour guide. On the boat tour we were joined by 3-4 other groups. The first wine tasting location was beautiful but when we wanted to go outside to take some pictures our guide suspiciously asked us where we were going and reminded us that we are leaving in 5 minutes. They hardly told us anything about the wines, so basically you can just drink a few different kind of port wines, but i would not call it as a wine tasting. There were no snacks or water either. Then we went to a “fancy restaurant” - to have the cheapest lunch menu (at 2PM) possible. It was not bad, but nothing local/special. Such a wasted opportunity for a great tour. My advice: book another tour without a boat trip and make sure you‘ll have a small group indeed.

I’m not the type to leave bad reviews but this excursion was not what we had expected. First things first our tour guide was awesome, my issue was with the trip itself.
1. They updated the booking from a small group to a 66 person mini-bus after we had booked. Big surprise on the day of the tour (for a second I thought I had made a mistake and booked a big tour, but later spoke to two other couples that said the same thing.)
2. There’s nothing fun about doing a lager group tour in Europe, you’re getting moved along & missing the whole experience. Also this restricts you from seeing certain places and you just feel rushed.
3. The river cruise was not great, honestly we could have skipped it. You get in a boat packed with people they drive it up 30-min without any explanation of what you’re looking at or about the local vineyards and then you drive back down the same way in silence.
4. Bring snacks you will be hungry. You don’t eat until around 2pm after you have already done the first wine tour and boat ride.
If this was a small group around 15 people like it was originally advertised, it would probably have been a great experience.
Now did we get to drink some wine, have a couple of laughs and learn about Portugal sure. But for the rate you’re paying idk…..

A very enjoyable day - but very long. Interesting to hear about the processes involved in producing port and wine. The lunch was good - the boat trip was short (just a round trip along the valley and back), but gave you glimpses of the extent of the individual vineyards. Could have been cut down a little - but the tour guide (Paulo) was very accommodating and informative and went out of his way to ensure everybody enjoyed it. Thank you.

Catia and the driver were very nice. Catia was very helpful and truly a great guide. The Douro valley lunch was great. The only problem was the bus air conditioning was not working properly and it got hot in the bus. With that said the drive back was hot and sticky. Overall a good tour. Obrigado.

The landscapes are beautiful. But the attention of the guide was terrible, he behaved in a rude way, knowing that we were Colombians, he did not make jokes about the mafia in very bad taste, additionally there was no good coordination and we had difficulties in the visit to the Barros winery. The visit to the San Luis winery was poor, a tour without any structure and done quickly without any depth

Fun experience, pick up around 8.20 and got back after 6.30. Itinerary slightly different than the one listed here I assume they change the vineyards now and then. The first wine tasting was great, amazing location up the hill on the vineyard, good food as well( lunch around 12pm). The 2nd one was in a wine bar which could have been anywhere in the world, not unique at all and a bit boring. Unless you are a wine expert hard to follow all the information shared. The boat trip was nice, small boat taking us down the valley. I don't regret going as the first place was amazing, however 2nd place below average

Really enjoyable day which was well paced with a break for coffee and to stretch our legs after a 90 minute drive into the valley. We then had a wine/port/olive oil tasting and after a short break we sat down to a nice lunch served with plenty of wine. Another short drive and we were on a boat on the Dorou taking in fantastic views whilst being offered more port, and once back on land we were at vineyard for a short talk about cultivation and another tasting. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and fun as were the boat crew, and it was nice chatting with our fellow travellers. Well worth the money.

What a great trip this was. The Douro Valley is beautiful and I am so glad I got to see it with this tour. We had a bus with about 40 people, the bus was air conditioned and clean. By the time the day was over, I felt like I had 40 new friends from around the world. Bonding over wine drinking is the best! We had a lovely stops and the lunch venue had the most killer view and lunch was great! I am definitely happy with this tour. Our guide was a sweet heart too. Love Milena. She was very knowledgable and enthusiastic through out our tour. I highly recommend.

I enjoyed the fantastic view and all the activities we did during the tour. We had one stop at a bridge, visited 1 big &1 small vineyards, did 50min long river cruise. The quality of lunch was fantastic, including soup, unlimited table wine, main course, dessert, and coffee. Milena was a great guide, welcoming, caring & fun! I also made friends with other guests!

Ivo our tour guide and Andre the driver did a great job showing us their home valley. Ivo had great knowledge about the valley he grew up in and the port wine history. During the stops he was very approachable to answer even more questions. We visited 2 wineries where we were introduced to different vintages of port wine and the making of it. The cruise was at least for me just ok. Lunch was late but the setting and atmosphere was awesome. Over all I can definitely recommend this tour.

We are an older couple from Canada. We are staying at 195 Rua do Breiner. Can we be picked up here for Tuesday, May 14 for the Douro Valley full day wine— tour? Also, how much in total for two?

I cannot say if they can pick you up from your address - you would need to contact them to confirm. I can give you the number of our driver/guide - Riccardo on +351 962 662 222. He can speak excellent English. As regards cost I paid €165 for two and it was worth every penny. Hope this helps and enjoy Porto - it's a lovely place!
