About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- kendrarene0 contributionsAmazing and beautiful experience in Geres!Really great time exploring Geres national park with Ricardo! He took us around to some great views and beautiful crystal clear water. Lunch was at a small local restaurant and one of the best on our trip! I 100% recommend this trip! Remember to bring good hiking shoes (I wore my trail running shoes, which worked well). And if you want to swim, a swimsuit and towel (I forgot a towel - Ricardo bailed me out there and had one!)Written September 11, 2024
- TravelWithMAGEK7770 contributionsTo Santiago de CompostelaAloha from Hawai’i! Bruno was amazing! Our tour isn’t listed because we wanted to go out of Porto and drive to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain. We knew it would be a long drive there and back but Bruno kept us on track and got us back to the ship on time. The drive was simply beautiful! Very comfortable and air conditioned. I got a lot of pictures. Bruno even showed us the river that separates Portugal and Spain. Bruno actually did the Camino de Santiago with his wife twice and we were so blessed to hear his story. He showed us around Santiago; we stopped to get Santiago cookies and chocolates to bring home. And we even stopped for gelato where we met a group that just completed the Camino de Santiago. We even got to take a picture of their passbook! It was incredible!! Santiago de Compostela was spectacular. Such a place of awe. We even got to see St. Francis church, though because of time constraints we didn’t get to go inside, it was still a blessing to be there. It was such a treasure for us to do this on my 56th birthday! I can see why people make the pilgrimage there. We may not have done it by foot but it was a pilgrimage for us in our own way. We’re very grateful for Bruno for picking us up right from the port, driving us 2.5 hours to Santiago, sharing his story, showing us around, and getting us back on time. - Navigator077436171220 contributionsMountain Exploration Day TripMy partner and I booked a tour to Geres with Trek Portugal, Bruno was our guide. He shared lots of fun history of the natural area and the wolves. We talked about the land and the trees as we hiked up to the overlook, then Bruno led us back into the hills to a pristine swimming hole for a swim and a picnic. On the way back we saw the wild horses in the meadow and got some more history of the local villages and the wolves. It was a great time and I would book again with these guys.Written August 8, 2024
- Sightsee250168217800 contributionsGreat trip and guideMy wife and three kids had a terrific experience exploring the national park with Bruno as our guide. Bruno provided great insight on the area and broader region/country and blended in seamlessly with our family. The amazing swimming holes helped everyone cool off from the hot summer temperatures and were definitely the highlight. Overall, great trip and guide!Written August 4, 2024
- CandiceLovesSD0 contributionsMust do tour with Bruno! You’ll regret not taking this tour with Bruno. With it being a small group, we were completely able to customize the trip with our 4 month old baby. Bruno knew exactly where to take us and I don’t feel like we missed anything, despite having a baby. We saw multiple water holes we got to swim in, great view points, amazing lunch and Bruno was so knowledgeable and passionate about the area! 5 stars! Highly recommendedWritten August 2, 2024

- labuchana0 contributionsHighly RecommendedWe debated about doing this tour or just heading to the park on our own to hike around and we are so glad that we made the choice to do this guided tour. I’m sure it is a night and day difference. We learned so much about the area - the culture, the language, the history, the geography, you name it. Bruno took us to small villages, great short hikes and vistas, and a restaurant with excellent food and atmosphere. Highly recommended, we never would have had such an experience on our own.Written July 18, 2024
- Sightsee597119672480 contributionsGeres National ParkThis tour was a great day out in the Geres National Park. Bruno has excellent local knowlege, and the groups are small and personal, which made it all the more enjoyable. The kayak, treks, and swims were great fun in this stunning area. The visit to the Wolf village was unexpected, and being a Wolf lover, it was a wonderful surprise for me. I would highly recommend this tour with Trek Portugal in the beautiful National Park.Written July 18, 2024

The breathtaking landscapes, picturesque villages, and rich cultural heritage made this experience truly memorable. - Compass181905542690 contributionsBeautiful Fun Experience Led by Excellent GuidesBruno and Ricardo were knowledgeable guides who were kind, flexible and professional. - Kpdc0 contributionsWell-deserved world heritage designation. Should be on every person’s bucket list. This was a wonderful experience and the good weather helped. Certainly someone needs to be relatively fit to do the steps, especially if they go all the way to the very bottom car park. There is a little train to take you back to the top, but inevitably quite a long queue, probably your best bet is to park at the bottom car park. Catch the train to the top explore and then walk down the steps. There is plenty of exploring to do at the top and the views are tremendous. We were lucky enough to see a wedding in the church.Written May 24, 2024
- robd7950 contributionsA day full of remarkable locations and insightsWe had a great day touring Peneda-Geres with Bruno. He picked us up directly from our guesthouse and took us on an almost 9 hour tour. You couldn't ask for a more knowledgeable guide. Bruno is an expert on the history, geography, nature, and the people of the region. He explained how the locals have lived in the region for centuries, shepherding their flocks, watering their land from mountain canals, and now conserving nature. We made many stops with hikes along the way. Highlights included an ancient Roman bridge, an ingenious trap for funneling wolves, several waterfalls, and a vantage over much of the park. There's no way visitors traveling independently could hope to see and learn as much as Bruno showed us. Excellent value. The restaurant you stop in for lunch is a bit pricey, so travelers on a budget might want to choose the picnic lunch option.Written May 23, 2024
- JoAnntravels100040 contributionsGere's experience tour with BrunoI did this trip with my husband and two of our friends. Our tour guide, Bruno, did a fantastic job. He was patient with me while I picked my way through the more difficult parts of the waterfall hike when I needed to go a bit slower. We enjoyed the visit of the village and the loved the vista overlooks. We appreciated the stop on the way back to Braga that allowed us to see the beach area and the lovely church. We enjoyed the lunch (not included) at the authentic restaurant in the village. Thank you Bruno for a such a great day! Highly recommend the tourWritten May 5, 2024

In the morning we were well received in Porto. After a good 1,5 hour drive we arrived in the national park where we soon got to see beautiful views at our first stop. The
Quad-bike tour was a very nice ride with nice slopes and descents. Along the way we got to see beautiful views and the local horses (we also saw wild horses on the way!). This was certainly a nice experience!
After a few more stops with amazing views at different waterfalls and the top of the mountain, we stopped at a local restaurant where we got some delicious local food and wine. Here we have taken a walk to a beautiful waterfall where I was looking for a cool swim. On this trip we also met the local shepherds in the distance. at the end of the day we went to the wolf trap "Fojo do lobo" that they used for years, really amazing to see how it works.
After this we returned to Porto and I ended this day with a good feeling. thanks to Bruno for the amazing trip and explanation. I really enjoyed my day.

We booked a holiday to Porto for a couple of days and got the suggestion of a friend to explore the national park. I found this tour on Tripadvisor and decided to book it, based on how the tour was described. It was described on a friendly, detailed and passionate way and also because you get guided by a local and get to chance to go to a local restaurant. After we booked our trip with Trek Portugal, we immediately got a message frol Bruno (the guide). He gave us some info about our upcoming trip. We also got a small questionnaire about allergies and our health condition, so that they can make the tour more individual and possible adjustments if necessary.
Bruno picked us up nearby our hotel and we had to drive about 1,5 hour to the national park. During the ride he gave us a lot of information about the park and why he started his tours. The Guad bike was really fun and nice to see all the nature. Normally we got guided by someone else than Bruno on this quad bike. But because of the guide of the quad bike didn't speak English, Bruno decided to join us and translated the whole trip! (Thank you :-)) After the quad ride he drove us to the border of Spain and Portugal. On the way of the boundary line we stopped at a few places and got to see a lot of nice views.
Then it was time for lunch! He took us to a really nice local restaurant and joined us during this lunch. The whole time we got to learn about the Portugal food and how the local work and live together. The people of the restaurant were also very friendly and made sure we had a good time. The food and drinks were delicious! After a good meal, we were ready for the rest of our trip.
We started the afternoon with a small hike and again.we got a lot of information about the culture, nature and the people living there. We ended up at a beautiful lagoon and got to chance to swim in the lagoon. After a rest and enjoying the nice view we continued our trip to another amazing view and a story about the wolfs.
During this trip Bruno made a lot of photos and shared his passion about his work and the national park. We would like to say thank you for this amazing day! We enjoyed it a lot! It was the perfect trip to end our citytrip to Porto. Thanks! - Kind regards from Belgium :-)
