Douro Valley tour
From $86.54
The UNESCO-listed Douro Valley is famed for its port wine, but with countless wineries to choose from, exploring the region without a guide can be overwhelming. This tour ensures you'll experience the Douro Valley at its very best, by dining on Douro cuisine at a celebrated villa and tasting award-winning bottles at two estates. To see the vineyard-lined Douro River from the water, upgrade to enjoy a cruise by traditional Rabelo boat.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your hotel in Porto for the 1.5-hour trip to the Douro Valley.

Continue to Pinhão, where you'll have time to explore the beautiful village on your own, from the surrounding vineyards to the distinctive blue-and-white tile murals.

If you selected the Douro River cruise, this is where you'll board a Rabelo, a traditional cargo boat long used for Douro River transport. The hour-long ride takes you up a Tua River tributary and past Quinta da Romaneira winery, and then loops back to Pinhão.

Either before or after your cruise (if you've upgraded), you'll pop into one of the wineries on the agenda for the day before lunch.

For lunch, sit down to a lunch of traditional Douro cuisine paired with local wines at a popular restaurant, and then visit another estate for tastings of award-winning ports and wines. The tour concludes with a return trip to Porto.

Lovely tour

My mom and I had a fantastic tour through The Valley. The vineyard changing colors provided a wonderful backdrop in addition to the landscape. The tastings were perfect and focused on small businesses which I really appreciated. Our guide was also fantastic. Highly recommend.

Beautiful tour of an amazing place

Highly recommend. Perfect way to see this amazing place. The combination of the van to get you out there quickly with the boat trip to experience the valley from the river was just perfect. Amazing value for the money.

Our tour included 7 people plus the tour guide. I feel like you could arrange a private tour for 5 through the operator.

I wouldn't take a baby on the tour, it goes for to long and it would spoil your own experience I think.

It’s essentially an all day tour. They pick you near your hotel around 8-8:30am and drop you back off there around 6:30-7pm. I don’t think your scheduling would work unless you left Lisbon VERY early as it’s about a 2.5 hr... More
