- Following your morning hotel pickup in an air-conditioned minivan, hit the road for Pinhao, passing terraced vineyards and pretty wine country along the way. Head up the mountains for the Douro region, where you visit the first of three wineries. Tour the facilities and taste their port wines. Next, ride along the Douro River to one of the oldest wineries in the area, where you enjoy your second wine tasting. Then, head to a small, family-owned winery also specializing in port. Leave the return journey to your driver, who drops you back off at your hotel.

Pickup details- If the option with pick up it's selected, we will send details the day before regarding time and meeting location. If the option with a meeting point it's selected, please meet us at Palacio da Bolsa at 8:30 am. We send email to every customer through the app with details on both options. Please make sure your number is correct in case we need to contact you in the morning. We normally try WhatsApp first and then we call if we don't have an answer.

- This tour has two different options, with or without hotel pick up. If you choose the option with the meeting point this tour may or may not be done in a minibus or bus.
- This tour may be done in two languages. We try to avoid it, but sometimes we have no other solution.
- For lunch we provide meat, fish and vegan option. (We can also accomodate any dietary restriction with prior notification)
- Private option it's done in a private vehicle only with your private guide. The vineyards and rest of the locations are shared with other participants.
- For the ones that choose hotel pick-up, if your accomodation is not in a very easy to reach location, we might ask you to meet us at a close by location;
- This tour last around 9 hours, but it´s subject to local traffic conditions or visit schedules;
- Don´t forget to bring your camera with you!
- There is not much walking involved, but please bring comfortable shoes;
- We do tours all year round, in the winter it is cold and in the summer it's hot, please dress appropriately
- Reschedulings with less than 24 hours before the start of the tour will be charged a 30% fee (subject to availability);
- The order of the tour or partners visit are subject to change depending on availability;

Leo was an incredible guide who kept everyone involved in the conversation and was extremely knowledgeable. He shared his unique insight into the local culture and the wineries we visited. The 8 hour tour flew by in no time. We were able to meet up with another of the company vans at the first winery and enjoyed a wonderful wine / cheese tasting as well as inside glimpse into the wine making process. On a different day we may have even got the opportunity to stomp a few grapes. Our meal at the last winery was absolutely delicious and getting some knowledge about how to pair wines with your meal was invaluable.Written October 11, 2024

Well worth it. We had hotel pick up; A lovely drive in a van with 4 others throughout the Douro valley provide by Andre our enthusiastic guide/driver. A coffee stop along the way, then port tasting at 11:30 after a tour at a well known vineyard.
Then lunch and red and white wine while sitting outside overlooking the vineyards with and an educational port tasting finally a 3 rd stop of only wine tasting at a quaint family owned winery with olive oil tasting.
Everyone was very respectful of mask wearing and covid safety precautions and our driver was conscientious.
We are happy we did the driving tour.
We were back at our hotel by 6 pm.
Then lunch and red and white wine while sitting outside overlooking the vineyards with and an educational port tasting finally a 3 rd stop of only wine tasting at a quaint family owned winery with olive oil tasting.
Everyone was very respectful of mask wearing and covid safety precautions and our driver was conscientious.
We are happy we did the driving tour.

Steve was the best! We did the tour three weeks ago and I kept forgetting to write a review, but I definitely haven't forgotten the experience! Such a perfect day: three wineries with one of the wineries having maybe the best lunch I've ever had. Steve was so entertaining and funny that eventually we felt like we'd known him for years. We even took our two daughters (7 and 9) with us and they felt welcome everywhere we went. Everybody at each winery was so friendly and personable and Steve had such great relationships at each place that it enhanced the experience. Oh, and don't get me started on how amazing all the wine was....

Oh, Steve! Steve, you rule. The charming Welsh accent upon introduction immediately made it feel like it was going to be a good day. Easily the best tour guide EVER, Steve is INSANELY knowledgeable about essentially everything Douro Valley/wine that literally no question will go unanswered. If you missed your morning coffee before hopping in the van, no worries! Steve takes you to a quaint little cafe for a quick stop to get coffee/nibble. Everywhere we stopped was fantastic, informative, & full of delicious wines, including olive oil & honeys. Lunch is delicious & Steve knowing literally everyone made the experience that much more enjoyable. While the trip is a full day, it definitely did not feel like a 9 hour trip. I haven't even touched on how absolutely gorgeous the Douro Valley is because you need to see it to believe it. Thank you, Steve!

This was a great experience! Steve was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide, and we were able to try lots of different wines and ports. Definitely a great value and I would highly recommend to anyone interested in the history and process of wine making (or just drinking wine). Be sure to bring plenty of water, it will be hot and sunny!

My wife and I started the day (September 8th) by being picked up at our hotel right on time. Our guide Felipa was incredibly warm, friendly and knowledgeable about Porto, Douro, Port wines and the region. She drove us about for about one hour before reaching our destination. The time went by quickly as she educated us alot about the Douro Valley and the grapes and answered many questions. Upon arrival the scenery was breathtaking. After a large number of wine tastings we then began to learn about olive oil and honey as well. We then had a nice sit down lunch in a very old house that the owners have preserved close to the orginal look. After a nice lunch more Port wine tastings which were very tasty and again learned alot. Then we drove down to the river for an 1 hour river cruise. The scenery was fantastic. After Felipa drove us back to our hotel. She was a joy to be with as she had a great sense of humor and even suggested a few restaurants for us.
My wife and I highly recommend this tour.

We had a fantastic day in the Douro Valley. We were blessed with Steve as our guide - highly knowledgeable, patient with our endless questions & made sure we all had a lot of fun. We learned lots about the region and were treated to some excellent wine, port and food throughout the day! The tour was honestly great - really good value for money, the group size was perfect and we would definitely recommend it for anyone visiting!

We are complete amateurs when it comes to wines and decided to take this tour to see if we can learn to appreciate wines.
We were certainly not disappointed! Our guide Steven picked us up from our hotel in a very clean 9 seater vehicle with a plastic separator making it feel that much more safer. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and made our tour very interesting and entertaining.
He informed us of the history, the culture and processes of both the wines and the ports from Douro Valley.
He took us to three different vineyards where guided tours were arranged for us. I have to say that I thought I might get bored visiting different vineyards —and hearing the same information, but each one was was very interesting, fun and unique.
The landscape was beautiful everywhere you looked and Steven did stop at a couple of very scenic spots for us to take pictures.
Lunch was again organised very well. We are vegetarian and all arrangements had been made well for us to have a wonderful outdoor lunch with pairing wines and ports.
This tour is a definite must do if you go to Porto and we will certainly be doing it again in the future.

I highly recommend this tour - especially with our tour guide Steve! He was super knowledgable and was able to captivate the group with his stories. All three wineries had great wine and wonderful staff. Steve has great rapport with the people at the wineries which made the entire day feel very comfortable and friendly! You could tell he has been doing this a long time and genuinely enjoys it! The company was also great to work with. We had travel delays getting to Porto and they were able to move our tour in order to accommodate us! Overall, a fantastic way to spend a day exploring the Douro Valley!

I was astounded at the natural beauty of the Duoro valley, and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious wines and lunch. Andre, our guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable, and all in all it was a great day. I would recommend this to anyone interested in Portuguese wines, who is visiting this area.

Our tour guide Andre was engaging, knowledgeable, and made the tour a fun filled day. He kept us entertained, and his knowledge of the history of the area and port wine made the trip that much more enjoyable. The wineries were all just brilliant, and the scenery was breathtaking. We were all surprised to hear that Andre had only been working as a tour guide for just over a year. I would highly recommend requesting Andre as a guide when booking this
