About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- krucki20180 contributionsAnother excellent tour with Top Bike! This was our second self guided tour with Top Bike. This time we did the Porto to Santiago route along the Camino trail, easily customizable trek with some extra time added. Stunning views, beautiful pathways, and prime coastal routes. The premium hotels were outstanding! Sergio and his team did a fantastic job making our trip a memorable one. Loved it all, thanks again Top Bike! 😎 🚲 🥰Written November 26, 2024
- jaxblade51610 contributionsGreat guide and nice experience but bikes could have been better. Our guide was great (Miguel) so if this review was for him alone it would be a five star review. However, the bikes themselves were not in the best shape (lots of rattling, uncomfortable seats, had trouble going up steep hills from a stop without having to push with our feet) so the bikes would be rated as 3 stars. That said, it was a fun experience and we would do it again. It was a great way to acclimate to a new city.Written November 17, 2024
- D9472OLtinam0 contributionsTop Bike Tours Portugal provides an above and beyond experience! Do the Camino de Santiago -- the French Way!!From start to finish, Top Bike Tours Portugal provided an above and beyond experience! The ride itself -- Camino the French Way -- was a complete blast! An ideal mix of riding on the road, on trails with some single track too. I loved stopping in small villages for coffees throughout the day and the accommodations were top notch. I'm very short so appreciated having the option of a super comfortable, XS e-bike. Our guides were amazing offering just the right mix of professionalism and FUN. This was truly an experience of a lifetime for me. I plan to do another ride with Top Bike Portugal and highly recommend joining any of their tours!Written November 11, 2024
- 39ChristineT0 contributionsExperiencing the Camino, Portugal and Spain on two wheels, simply the BEST.I have been fortunate to have enjoyed many bike tours. This one was exceptional: varied terrain along scenic route, powerful, easy to ride E bike, marvelous lodging, (castle, fortress, villa). The best: four caring, competent guides, who put safety first, followed by a lot of fun and laughs. Value added: included pre ride day ( time adjustment), winery tour, historic sites, tabas lunch, hot springs.Written November 2, 2024

- G539EOjana0 contributionsFantastic experience- on & off the bikes. My husband & I did the North of Portugal & Minho tour, independently. I highly recommend Top Bike Tours Portugal. The people we dealt with were all fantastic & quick to respond to enquiries. The e-bikes, accommodation, routes were great. We would definitely use Top Bike Tours Portugal again.Written October 31, 2024
- 720hillarya0 contributionsGreat trip with coastal views and ocean swimmingGreat cycle trip. Porto to Lisbon reduced - guided. The coast was beautiful and I had a couple chances to swim in the ocean along the way. Effect from Hurricane Helen closed some beaches. It was a small group (8) and two guides. Both guides were relaxed, easygoing competent and able to handle the varied levels of biking ability. Bikes were good. I used standard hybrid, some in the group used e-bikes. We did not upgrade to premium accommodations and all were very comfortable, very clean and in great locations. It's the first time I've used Top Bike Tours Portugal and would highly recommend them.Written October 31, 2024

The guides telmo and fillipie are professionals, attenative, safe, considerate. The bikes are in good condition, and the routes are manageable.Written October 31, 2024
- LX_Adventures0 contributionsThe El Camino Experience - Biking the coastal route with family and friendsThe Top Bike team was exceptional. Everything was well organized from our arrivals, to bike fittings and orientation, to safe rides each day. Our group was relatively large (22) so we had 3 guides and a 4th SAG support. Every one of these individuals was very professional and personable. I feel that they became an integral part of the group and significantly improved every aspect of our days together...essentially we became one group, not a group of riders and a group of guides. It was great. They were hard working and safety oriented. Their days started before ours getting everything organized and ended after ours taking care of the bikes, riders, accomodations and more. The bikes were very good. I was thinking about bringing my own bike from the US but decided to use the bike provided by the tour. This turned out to be a very good decision. The staff helped me put on my pedals and saddle as well as adjusting the overall configuration to fit my needs. They did the same for the other riders in our group. I would encourage future riders to be honest in their assessment of their climbing ability. The variation in the terrain was one of the best parts of the ride, however, there are some climbs that were challenging. Of course these can always be walked if necessary. If you are unsure of your climbing ability then I recommend getting an e-bike. Several riders in our group did this and I think they were all glad that they did. I could write a whole review of the scenery, the meals and the accomodations. I think we were all blown away by the accomodations, especially the two castles and the estate in Spain. It just kept getting better! As to food, I had to start cutting back on all of the great foods, especially the pastries. As to riding versus walking the El Camino - my primary motivation was to accomplish the pilgrimage in a meaningful way. A secondary interest was to do it with friends and family. Lastly, I wanted it to be by bike rather than by foot based on my age and capabilities. I did wonder if doing it by bike would be too easy and not meet my sense for a meaninful pilgrimage. This notion was dispelled each and every day that we rode. We definately "earned" the completion of the Camino. The Portugese Route by bkie met and exceeded all my hopes. Finally, we planned this trip as a group of family and friends. The ages ranged from 23 to 81 and included couples and singles. The riders came from all over the US so there were many questions and accomodations that the Top Bike team worked with us on in order to make this a successful trip.Written October 31, 2024
- eileenta20220 contributionsTop Bikes Portugal is FantasticWe were very happy with our choice to go with Top Bike Tours for our self-guided, 6-day bike ride around the Algarve area. All the accommodations were nice, ranging from cute seaside hotels to historic bungalows. The bikes were in good shape and customer service very attentive. Would definitely recommend them.Written October 31, 2024
- anthonyaI5094UU0 contributionsFun ride, great food, new friends. An adventure to experience! We took this trip as a follow up to our Tripsite tour last year, and we were equally please with the overall experience. Our guides Themlo and Felipe were professional, kind, and were able to resolve our E-bike issues on-the-fly making our experience perfect. The restaurants our guides selected provided tasty foods at reasonable prices. The hotels selected were clean, comfortable and had the amenities we would expect after a day on the bikes. The excursions provided an unexpected historical and cultural element that was also much appreciated.Written October 31, 2024

Miguel and Jaoa were great guides and very helpful in organising lunches/dinners. Their sense of humour was fun even when some of it was lost in translation. The accommodation was excellent particularly the Hotel Parador de Baiona which is in a beautifully renovated castle in Baiona and the exceptional Hotel Torre do Rio in Caldas dos Reis which was located overlooking a river. My recommendation is that if you haven’t prepared for 6 days of cycling hire an ebike.

This was such a highlight of our 3 1/2 weeks in Portugal. Can’t say enough good things about this ride! The views and the diversity of scenery were amazing. We did this with e-bikes as there is a lot of climbing in this trip. Sergio and his team were wonderful. We went to his shop beforehand to get fit for the bike and given all the details of the ride. The GPS route was extremely easy to follow and the accommodations were very good. The location of the accommodations were so unique and tucked into places with amazing views. It more than met my expectations! I’ve been on several self guided bike trips and this one ranks up there with the best! Don’t hesitate to book with Sergio.

We took a 6 hour tour, just 2 of us in a Sunday with Marta. She was awesome. Very knowledgeable and clearly loves her city. I didn’t love the port wine cellar tour that came with the bike tour. But rest was great—we learned a lot about the city and Marta gave us lots of recommendations on what to see and eat after.

We had a phenomenal day with Marta biking around the beautiful city of Porto with some of our best friends. The city is incredible and there is something about seeing it via bike that makes it seem closer - more do-able. Marta introduced us to a favourite Port house where we tasted some delightful wines that Porto is famous for. She reserved us a table with a beautiful view of the Ponte Luis for lunch and introduced us to Portuguese foods we immediately loved. She brought us to lovely viewpoints, taught us about Portuguese culture and history, and was an absolute delight to spend the day with. 10/10 would do it again!

We truly enjoyed our bike tour with drinks and food! Our tour guide, Marta, was fabulous! She knew so much about Porto, both past and present. She spent time getting to know us and made sure we saw/did everything we hoped to do on the bike tour. Porto is a beautiful city and exploring it on bicycles was adventurous and fun as well as a much quicker way to see more of the city and the beachfront. We can't wait to go back!
