Fabulous Food Walking Tour of Braga
Christiane gave us an amazing culinary tour of Braga!! Her choice of food at the various restaurants in Braga, along with her knowledge of the history of this town was impressive. We tasted local cheeses and Portuguese wine at a contemporary cheese shop, CorriQueijo, just outside the entrance to the old city Arch. Then we went just across the street and tasted the most delicious Cod fish cakes, a staple in Portuguese food. We tried two different ways of preparing them, and they were both delicious!! Here the cod fish was paired with a local beer. Then we walked through the town listening to Christiane talk about the historical significance of the town and went to the Braga Farmers Market and saw where locals can get their fresh produce, flowers, meat, and fish. Then we went to a funky bar that served Portuguese Pork sandwiches. I do not eat pork, and they very graciously accommodated me with a salmon sandwich which reminded me of a Portuguese version of a Bagel and lox sandwich. Then we had a chocolate tasting at Chocolate Equador...sublime!! Then onto Lusitano for our last indulgence of Cappucino and Cream puffs. It was a fantastic Walking Food Tour of the city of Braga and Christiane truly made the experience special!!

Portugal Lisbon to Braga with Cristiane/ Eco Triha
We loved Braga and Cristiane loved sharing her home town. Honestly every city we visited with her was wonderful and she is very good about sharing a lot of interesting information and allowing you time to look and take pictures. We had 2 days in the country which was a wonderful surprise complete with a chef, bread making, wine tasting and a 7 mile hike in. Peneda-Geres National Park.Cristiane has a wonderful sense humor, cares about her clients and pays attention deal. She even road to the airport when we left to say goodbye. It is obvious she truly loves what she does and it shows. We are wanting to go back and we highly recommend her her and cannot say enough great things!

    Best of Portugal tour
We booked our "Best of Portugal" 7 day holiday through Slow Tours. As my husband and I were the only people booked on this tour date, we were lucky enough to have Cristianne from Eco Trilha as our "private" tour guide for most of the time. Andre was our other wonderful guide for a couple of days in Porto and the Douro Valley. Cris and Andre both spoke English well, and were reliable, organised and helpful. They were thoughtful, generous with their time, their local knowledge and the imparting of historical facts. We visited Lisbon, Nazare, Fatima, Porto, the Douro Valley and Braga. Each place was very different, with its own charm and places of interest. Among other great memories from this trip we will never forget Sintra and the Pena Palace, the traditional fish drying on the beach of Nazare, the unexpected impact of Fatima, cruising the Douro river, and enjoying a Pastel de Belem! However, we never felt rushed. Our hotels and transport were clean and comfortable. We would be very happy to recommend Cris and her company Eco Trilha to anyone looking to travel through Portugal.

    Portugal Small Group your
Our Portugal small group tour was flawless thanks to Christiane & her team. From the time we were met in the Lisbon airport until we departed from Braga 7 days later everything was well done / on time, organized, great communication and excellent recommendations for restaurants etc. We found Christiane flexible and accommodating. We wish we would have spent more time in Porto and less time in Braga, but we didn’t know that until experiencing it all. We would definitely recommend Eco Trilha tours.

Great Experience on the 7 Day Tour
My wife and I spent a week in Portugal with Cristiane and EcoTrilha Tours. It was a fantastic vacation. Everything was very well arranged. The hotels were clean, comfortable, and in nice locations. The sights that we visited, and the experiences that Cristiane arranged for us, were all interesting, fun, and just a great way to see Portugal. We can absolutely give EcoTrilha Tours our very highest recommendation, and will definitely be contacting them again, the next time we visit Portugal.

    Best of Portugal tour
We arrived late due to airline problems but this was not a problem to Eco Trilha, they were there to meet us and transfer to our hotel in Lisbon, which was comfortable and reliable - see separate review Olissippo Hotel. Next morning we were met by our guide Frederico and driver Luis, who both spoke good English. We drove to the Pena Castle in Sintra early to avoid the Easter crowds that arrived (thank goodness because the queue had grown to several hundred metres long by the time we left) Then we drove down around the coast at Cascais and Fred and Luis were always a good source of information. Fred was an exceptionally good guide at Pena as he had worked there for two years. The surprise of the day was custard tarts at Pasteis de Belem - see separate review - a national treasure. On Day 2 Fred and new driver Ubu took us up the coast to the medieval town of Obidos, the amazing beach at Nazare (home of the largest recorded surf wave) and religious town Fatima. They then took us to our next overnight stop at Porto. We stayed at Porto Trindade hotel - a nice hotel, but hard to find as it only has a narrow street frontage. On day 3, Cristiane, who is proprietor of Eco Trilha took us on an interesting walking tour of the city. Despite annoying persistent light rain, we were able to see all the important landmarks and historical buildings. We were amused by the consistent arrays of sardine tins - symbol for the city - there are dedicated shops which just sell painted sardine tins - not just a few, On day 4 our driver and guide was Pedro - an excellent guide, with excellent English and expert on the Douro Valley, home of port wine. He was delightful to be with and took us to numerous viewing points plus highlights of Lamego and Pinha. The Shrine of Our Lady of Remedies stands high on a hill with over 600 steps down to the top of the main street. The view is stunning and Pedro took us to the top by car and we walked down. The Lamego Cathedral is also impressive. Also the railway station at Pinha has various murals of painted ceramic tiles highlighting the town and its history. Of course the highlight was the overall view of the valley where centuries old grape terraces make you wonder how they can produce such volumes in such steep country. The best view was at our Port Wine cellar tour and tasting at Sandeman winery. Well done Pedro. On our last day Cristiane came from her home town of Braga (3rd largest in Portugal) and drove us back to see highlights of Braga. First we went to Bom Jesus de Monte which she told us was built before the Lamego church (which has a similar hilltop and stair structure) with 580 stairs. I prefer the Lamego church as it has more elaborate stair landings and a stunning outlook down into the town's main street. Bom Jesus, however has several re-created lifelike death of Jesus dioramas. It was Good Friday but the shops were open and we wandered through Braga's no-traffic central city area and had lunch. Overall, the organisation at Eco Trilha was very good and they were on time, every time. The guides were excellent (Pedro won our award) and being a small group, they were patient and flexible - my wife is an avid photographer and they were willing to point out features, or wait a short time while she took pics.

    Perfect Portugal Adventure
My 24-year-old daughter and I spent a wonderful week in Portugal in January on the Culture and Cooking Tour, and are so grateful to Cristiane for putting together the perfect adventure. We had so many experiences that we otherwise wouldn't have had on our own--a walk through the UNESCO neighborhood of Porto, olive oil and wine tastings, discovering some of her favorite historical and culinary places. Because she hired drivers during some days, we could relax and cover a lot more territory than you would expect, and got to see Lisbon, Porto, Sintra, some small villages, the coast, and the mountains. We'd love to take our family back for one of her Douro Valley tours as well. Highly recommended!

An excellent experience for the food lovers in Portugal
We did the tasting tour and the cooking class with Eco Trilha. Great week, great tastings and great cities tours! This was the highlights of our trip! We started in Lisbon and finished in Porto. We cooked with chefs and learn the best of Portuguese cuisine. We thank you Cristiane for everything!
