- paul m00Couples day outFor a full day tour there was lots of places with great views. Time in a couple of places to get a coffee & decent lunch. Would have been better if there was a tour of a winery, museum or brought to say a designated restaurant to sample typical cuisine in the agricultural area rather than a tourist area. Can’t tremble drivers name, excellent driver very friendly & have lots of info.
- P2957CVsusann00Unexpected TreatWe didn't get to do the peaks as the weather was awful , our guide Charlotte advised us that it would be dangerous as the steps would be too slippery. Instead we went on the Larano cliff walk. It was amazing, despite the rain which didn't stop for the first few hours . The scenery was breathtaking and the sun shone for the last section of our journey down in to Porto Da Cruz. Charlotte was an amazing guide looking out for everyone along the way giving us local history and information as well as looking out for our safety and welfare. Would definitely recommend this walk. Hopefully you'll get Charlotte too
- lindseyw12800The walk can be very strenuous in places. We are both physically fit and found the walk to be hard in places so be prepared.Myself and my husband both had a great time on this walk, our guide Sarah was great, very knowledgeable, and lots of experience.
- KBNYC1300Great hike & tourCharlotte was our guide for this Levada walk and she was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and kept things moving along. The hike itself was lovely and very doable for most. It was organized very well
- pauldA4364HD006 years later and still just as excellent! We used Lido Tours in 2017, on our first visit to Madeira. We were really impressed with their excellent service. We have now spent another week on Madeira and have done 5 more tours with Lido. We have been really pleased and impressed with their service once again. Sincere thanks to Bruno (West tour), Roberto (East tour), Joao (South tour) and Rubina (levada walks Paradise Valley & Serra de Agua). They are very good guides who speak fluent English and they have made our time here very memorable. We have spoken to other English tourists we have met on the island and recommended Lido Tours to them as well. I am sure this will not be our last visit to Madeira - and when we next visit Madeira we shall certainly use Lido Tours again! Thank you very much to all at Lido for making our holiday here so special!
- Safari1323881143600Great hikeYour tour guide was very experienced and had a lot of good advise for the hike. Would recommend booking this tour!
- Wendy S00This tour led by Charlotte delivered spectacular views. Be warned it is arduous in places but worth the effort.Spectacular scenery and worth the effort. It is an arduous walk in places. Charlotte was an excellent guide. Worth the effort
- S1213JFhollyg00Not enough time in Fanal ForestOur tour guide was amazing however I wouldn’t recommend this walk to anyone who wants to view Fanal Forest. You do a walk through some nature (around 8km) with lovely views, however this is essentially what the trip is. Also, this walk is a lot of walking up and down steps that are unstable so I wouldn’t recommend for anyone who may struggle with this aspect. About halfway through you end up back on a road with another 4km walk ahead to Fanal Forest. When you arrive you have 1 hour to eat something and walk around Fanal Forest (there isnt a time or place to eat on the walk up to the forest). This is nowhere near enough time to spend there unfortunately. I believe the tour would be better if they took you to the road midway through, had the 4km walk to Fanal then were able to spend more time exploring the area. I would like to emphasise again, our tour guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. However, I would recommend a different tour company for viewing Fanal Forest.
- 193mimk00Rainy tour with a cool tour guideOn that day, it was quite wet and foggy, but it was still a beautiful trip. At Lido, you can book last minute and it always works smoothly, it's very well organized. The highlights were swimming in the natural pools and the waterfall at the end. There was plenty of time and a nice, quiet group. The leader Bruno was very friendly, but also seemed tired. The tours, like the island in general, are very crowded with tourists. There were already numerous other people at all the stops. Still, it was a lovely day.
- L3074LAsabrinam00Great experienceThe trip was great, our tour guide told us a lot about the island! Would recommend taking this tour.
- Cyril G00Mountain trekIt was a great experience some very tough sections but our brilliant guide Charlotte gave us plenty of time so glad I did it
- anon08400Amazing viewsOur driver was knowledgeable and calm (definitely needed with the narrow roads!), and the views from the top were amazing. Nuns Valley was an interesting little place. Would recommend.
- MrTea210400Amazing day tourWell organised tour in a beautiful place. They picked up us at the hotel and the rest of the other tour mates(from their hotel in Funchal). After we went straight to the start point of our walk. There was an 11 km walk from north to the south side of the island. Charlotte, our guide was amazing. She was very kind, friendly and patience full. She guided us through all the steps and made our journey full of excitement. I can recommend it to everyone who would like to know a bit about Madeira and it's beautiful nature. Medium level of fitness is highly recommended. Thanks for the experience once more time. Hopefully see you again. Kind regards, Tibor and Hajnalka
- RachelL81200Beautiful walkBeautiful walk with some steep steps in sections, but the guide was patient with those who wanted a slower pace and plenty of stops for photos. Leanna was an excellent guide. We stopped at two lakes, the second of which we could swim in if we wanted...although the water is COLD! Only criticism is the lunch stop doesn't really give enough time to eat and swim. Be aware, this isn't a quiet section of the levadas - there were loads of people walking the same paths.
- B4057YIjimd00Fantastic TourWe went on this tour while visiting Madeira and enjoyed it immensely. The driver and guide were excellent fonts of knowledge throughout the tour and we learnned many thisgs about life on the island. The scenery was outstanding throughout the tour and we would love to revisit some of the places we saw in the future

The Madeira East Tour from Funchal, is an amazing tour, with an equally if not even better guide. It felt more like a friend telling you about his home, than a guide that have done the same thing 1000 times before. From Funchal the tour takes you up above the city, with amazing panoramas from the statue of the lady of Peace. At this point you think this can't get better than it already is, but from there the views just get better and better, as you travel to mountaintops, and make your way through steep canyons and abandoned villages.
My brother is disabled, but it was not a problem to bring his manual wheelchair.
Overall a great experience, at great value.

I had booked the south, east and west tours as well as a hike at Ponta de São Lourenço. During the trip there was a lot of information about the respective place or the island.
Meals were not included in the tours, but I thought that was a good thing, since you could decide for yourself whether to go to the restaurant, bring something with you, or spend lunch in the area.
All guides and employees were super friendly and a special compliment goes to Marco, who gave us an unforgettable day on the beautiful east tour with his warm manner and certainly made one or the other want to go to Madeira for Christmas. Thank you for four unforgettable days.

This is a tour around the Eastern section of the island in a minibus so the group size is not too big. Bruno the guide was both entertaining and knowledgeable and drove safely throughout . The view from above the clouds at Mount Arieiro was phenomenal and the traditional (but rare) houses in Santana were great to see . Lots of information about the flora and fauna as history aspects are a bit limited on the island. The restaurant choice for dinner was not 'pushed' and we had a brilliant snack in the Brocade snack bar in Santana instead. The frequency and length of the stops had also been carefully considered.

I could not thank this company more for the amazing tour I had. The shop itself is very well organised and this enabled me to chose the right experience for me. The tour was beautiful, we saw a large range of the island from the local towns on the east side, amazing landscapes and the most memorable will be the drive in the jeep up the mountain. The food that was included for a small extra fee was amazing and everyone in my tour got to eat around the same table with the tour guide which was lovely! I couldn’t of asked for a better trip. The lady that worked there was so kind, spoke amazing English and did all that she could to ensure that me and my brother had the best time and I must say we did! Thank you to lido tours for an amazing experience and I look forward to booking with you again!

My wife and I took 3 tours with Lido Dec. 15-18, 2021. We took the East and West Tours with Roberto. he was a great guide. he speaks English, Spanish, and some German. He was kind to my wife who uses a walker. The tours were both great. The prices are very good and the lunches were tasty with good prices as well.
I took the half-day walk of Serra d"Agua with Susana. She speaks fluent English, German, Spanish, and French. She gave walkers a stick and jacket for the hike. It is through beautiful territory. She is a wonderful mountain guide who made sure the hikers knew when the narrow and wet spots were coming up.
We took Lido Tours 5 years ago and took them again when we returned this year because they were so good.

The best tour I did in a previously unknown place. Our driver/guide is a professional, and I wonder how he and others can work all day, up and down, for km, in different micro-climates...the island changes by the hour. One hour you are under a deep mist, buying a jacket, the other you are under a bright sun, watching the waves crashing on the cliffs.

Excellent tour. The driver, Nuno was very knowledgeable about the area which made the day so much more interesting. We were lucky with the weather, it was so clear at the view points as we were above the clouds. The east of the island is so beautiful and full of history. We definitely felt like we got value for money

Pick up was spot on and easy from the front of our hotel. The trip was a minibus for 15 and was full. However the minibus that lido use are comfortable so all good there.
Our tour guide for the East of the island trip was Horsa (sorry can't spell his name) and be was very good. He drove very smoothly all over the east part of the island and stopped at various points just to point out those little nuggets of info that one just would not get if doing a self drive.
Overall this is a good trip to get to see the east part of Maderia, and well rwcommended.

Fantastic! Swimming in natural volcanic Atlantic pools, riding above the clouded, this can’t be missed. We took our own packed lunch as the set three course for €18 would be too much for us. Wear trainers and take a coat/hoodie

Hallo,
