This was our first visit to Portugal with my husband. I had done other tours in Europe before, but this is by far the best tour we had used. We were the only couple in the tour, so it turned out to be private tour. The itinerary was very well planned. We saw a lot but we did not feel rushed, which was what I wanted. The guides were very knowledgeable with the history, kind and courteous. The vehicles used were all excellent, and the hotels booked were all clean, in convenient locations with great breakfast. I booked Charming Portugal package and extended extra days in Cascais after that. Portugal travel Center was very responsive to the questions I had and provided good advice on the extension for my stay. Communication with Pedro and team, all via email was always quick, smooth and clear. I would highly recommend using Portugal Travel Center. My husband and I had an amazing 2 weeks in this beautiful country with such rich history, great food, scenery and wonderful and kind people.

My husband and I recently returned from the Highlights of Portugal tour and were impressed every day with the beauty of the country and the kindness of the people. We were the only couple on our tour, so our trip became a private tour of Portugal. A delightful surprise! Vania from Portugal Travel Center took care of details large and small, while Pedro and Julio handled the day-to-day driving. Each of them had vast knowledge about the history and culture of each stop and were great company along the way. All of this became critical late in our tour when my husband fell and needed medical attention in Lisbon. Pedro made sure we went to a good hospital and stayed with us, translating with medical staff. He altered our plans to accommodate my husband's needs in the days following his fall. I don't know how we would have managed without him. Lucky you if you meet Pedro on your tour with PTC. Julio was our guide in northern Portugal and was also kind, fun, flexible, and knowledgeable. We knew we were in good hands with him. I can't think of a better way to tour Portugal than with Portugal Travel Center!

This is our second time using Portugal Travel Center and they NEVER disappoint in their tours/trips and activities they planned for our family. Every detail was perfect and the attention to detail was superb. We will be using them again in the spring of 2025 to take the rest of the family members that were not able to go the first time. The Azores are an incredible group of islands to explore, with some breathtaking views and wonderful food. Our experience was good yet there were problems with our tour package that could have been handled better. There were multiple instances where the tours was booked at the wrong date or time. This meant we were waiting for ages for our tour guide or missed out on certain experiences. It turns out that while Portugal Travel Center can arrange the package for you, they outsourced the logistics to a local business (OnTravel DMC), who then either run the day tours or book day tours with other local businesses. This made it very cumbersome to rectify any problems. Whilst we did receive some refunds from the tours, it ultimately did not make up for the wasted time on our holiday, the stress or disappointment we experienced. We would not recommend booking the Azores islands with this company.

I have had the most wonderful experience possible booking with the Portugal Travel Center. I had lived in Portugal for three months forty years ago and wanted to revisit some of my old haunts. Just returned from a 13-day 3-person private tour of Portugal. All arranged via PTC. Superb experience overall - the sites, people, food were all wonderful. Highlight was a 3-1/2 day visit to Madeira. What a magical place! Pedro Madruga (Lisbon and vicinity), Alex (Porto), and Miguel (Madeira), guides arranged through PTC’s partners, did full justice. Pedro’s experience and knowledge, coupled with his gregarious personality, were just the recipe for us! We enjoyed four full days in his company, touring Lisbon, Sintra (magical place), Evora (with its Roman Temple ruins and 10th century university), and Aveiro (including its highly colorful Costa Nova oceanfront development)! Pedro was just superb! Alex in Porto too was excellent, patient, knowledgeable…hand-held us through Port wine-tasting, a visit to the highly recommended Douro Valley and its vineyards and olive oil farms (culminating in a superb lunch at an 18th century mansion). Great time spent with him as well. Miguel in Madeira, though not as experienced as the others, was a delight to travel with. He was honest as to his limitations, patient with us, and took us all over the island’s fantastic North and East sides; the latter was simply stupendous in the variety of its landscapes! A nice young man and a pleasure to travel with! Kudos to all of them. Accommodations were generally good, with the Castanheiro Boutique Hotel in Funchal, Madeira setting a high bar (locations, room, breakfast, staff friendliness), while the Lisboa Plaza Heritage Hotel in Lisbon was at the other end - aged and tired-looking with dated and smelly rooms/bathrooms, and uncomfortable beds ( excellent staff and breakfast, however). The Pestana a Brasileria Hotel in Porto was fine, although we had to change rooms two times due to faulty plumbing and cramped wardrobes. Jose and Luis at the front desk were excellent and took great pains to ensure we were comfortable. Breakfast there too was excellent. Finally, thanks to Vania Pereira at PTC, who was our point of contact from the get-go, and patiently crafted an itinerary to our liking and answered myriad questions along the way. Overall, a great company to depend on for Portugal travels. A couple of improvement suggestions, however: 1. More prompt communications/responses via WhatsApp, to questions and requests particularly while in country; and 2) Having prior knowledge of our driver/guides so as to have any last-minute changes/requests accommodated (left us a bit in confusion, as in the Porto case, our guide was completely unaware of our itinerary until we informed him; and in Madeira we did not have the guide’s name until late); further in Madeira, the number provided for the local company proved erroneous, and not having the company’s name as well left us incommunicado when our guide was a bit delayed in reaching our hotel for pick up. Overall, satisfied with the experience. Thanks to Vania, Pedro, Alex, and Miguel for a lovely visit - we shall cherish the memories!

Daniela and her team did an EXCELLENT job putting this tour together for us. And Pedro was THE BEST possible guide/driver! He was conscientious, kind, knowledgeable, and a good driver! We saw amazing sites and stayed in the best hotels. It was a wonderful week, and it all came together exactly as planned!

I spent 15 glorious days in Portugal thanks to Daniela and Vânia who planned the perfect trip for me. Everything was taking care of; train tickets, hotels in great locations, transfers with excellent drivers, and interesting city tours. This company is local and very professional. Everything went smoothly, but in case of an emergency they’re available 24/7. I’m planning a trip to the Azores next year and you can be sure I’ll be calling them again.

My wife and I just returned from the best of Portugal in 11 Days tour. We had an amazing time. The staff that we dealt with at Portugal Travel Center was extremely responsive and flexible. We made a few modifications to the first day of our trip and also to the last day, and we were able to work those out without any problems. All of the hotels we stayed in were excellent and were located in the heart of the cities. Our tour guides and drivers were also very good. They were very knowledgeable, personable, and spoke great English. We had a few glitches along the way, but Portugal Tavel Center quickly addressed those issues to our satisfaction. Overall, we were very happy with the process and the product, and would not hesitate to use Portugal Travel Center in the future.

My family just came back from our 10 day private customized tour of Portugal, and from start to finish, the trip was absolutely perfect. We worked with Vania, who curated the tour for us. She gave us many options, but after a while, she clearly had good sense of my family's preferences, so then made recommendations. We're so glad we followed all her recommendations. For example, she suggested we have a driver take us from Lisbon to Porto and back so that we could see Obeidos, Nazare, Coimbra, and Tomar, and these were some of our favorites spots! Each guide and driver was extremely professional and highly knowledgeable. All the accomodations were perfect, and Vania made sure my mother had vegetarian food everywhere we went. Whatever type of trip you want to take in Portugal, I highly recommend you work with Daniela and her team!

It was a wonderful trip, and we really enjoyed the ‘Charming Portugal Highlights’ tour, which was well thought out, planned and executed with an ideal mix of organized tours and free times. The guides we met were personable, knowledgeable and comfortable to be with. The tour was a very good experience with an interesting mix of energetic and relaxing times. We had some great experiences that have made wonderful memories.

I don’t like writing negative reviews but I need to warn others. First, I booked a tour of Sintra and Cascais back in April for $176 euros. Over a month later I was informed no one could do the tour for that price but they could do it for $290 euros (same day, same tour, just a lot more money). Totally shady but I paid the extra money. Second, we were sent a detailed itinerary for what sounded like a lovely day and exactly what we had paid for. The tour guide showed up. He had never seen the itinerary. He had no plan. The whole day was based on going to Pena Palace first which requires timed tickets. He didn’t have the tickets. All the times were sold out until 2p. And even though the tickets were included in the tour price we had to purchase them ourselves. It threw our whole day off. Eventually we got to see the castles and take a brief trip to cascais but we spent a lot of time driving around and we didn’t have time to stop for a lovely lunch as promised as we needed to get back to Lisbon for other appointments. The tour guide was a very nice man but also more like an Uber driver. Very quiet and didn’t share a lot of information about the locations we visited and didn’t join us on the visits to guide us. We’ve booked private tours around the world and have never had this happen. Find a better tour so you won’t be disappointed.

Vania put together a wonderful 12 night tour for us which started in Lisbon and ended in Porto. We spent the first 3 days with Giuseppe, and although we were expecting a group of 8, it turned out to be a private tour. He showed us Lisbon, Cascais, Evora and more. Giuseppe was knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Our next stop was Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel. The beautiful views were beyond our expectations; simply breathtaking! Joao was a wonderful guide and he personalized the tour and was very thoughtful. Our 4 days there went by too quickly and made us want to go back to that beautiful island. Our final stop was Porto. Again, the tours that Portugal Travel Center organized were wonderful. There were a couple of glitches in Porto, mostly due to a massive construction project, but PTC was quick to address and remedy the situation. I am happy to highly recommend Portugal Travel Center to anyone planning a vacation in Portugal
