Was an amazing experience and day. We've never done a private tour before but very glad we did. Margarida was a wonderful guide. Very friendly and chatty from the start. And so knowledgeable on everything Sintra. She clearly loves her job and it shows with her enthusiasm which made the day so much better for us. The tour itself was brilliant. What I really liked about 'The Host' was we got to customise our tour and dictate what we wanted to see and what our priorities were. I couldn't find another company that offered this, and at such a good price too. Sintra is beautiful, but it was made so much better with our guide than doing it by ourselves. Can't recommend the company and Margarida enough!

The best, the best, the best. Sintra was amazing, but our guide Joao was exceptional and knowledgeable and fun! Took us to a great restaurant for lunch and another one for local pastries. Would recommend the tour 1000 times over, just wish we had more time to do another tour with him.

After another tour company canceled on us with 24 hours notice, I was unable to find another small group tour that included all the sights we wanted to see. We ended up booking this private tour so we could create our own itinerary and it was the best decision we could have made! Carolina was a fantastic tour guide!! She went above and beyond to make sure we saw everything we wanted to see (including waiting in long lines while letting us do some extra sightseeing)! She is extremely knowledgable about the area and the history, and has a fantastic personality. Our day with Carolina ended up being one of the best days of our vacation! It was worth every penny. If you're on the fence, book with this group. You will not regret it!!

Sintra has a fascinating history and the day trip is worthwhile as part of any visit to Lisbon. The Host Experiences tour company were efficient and communicative from the time we booked. Our tour leader Carol was wonderful. She has a great knowledge of Sintra and explains the details of each location very clearly. She is flexible with plans and makes the day easy and fun.

With a group of 5 friends, we spent a delightful day with João in Sintra! He is an extraordinary tour guide and the most playful fun person to hang out with. We started with delicious Sintra pastries then toured the Pena Palace Parque — learning the history, and architectural details. And lots of time to take in the view and take lots of pictures! We zoomed over to Palaçio da Regaleira for a great walk through the grounds. João gives just the right amount of information, reads the energy of the group and moves things along to keep the pace just right. He found the perfect place for lunch to end the day!! This is a first rate tour with top quality guides!!

We (group of 8) had such a great time touring the magical town of Sintra with The Host's Carol and Margarida. The Host's Frederico was very responsive to all my inquiries about planning this customizable tour. We were so glad we booked this tour, not only because we had such wonderful tour guides, but getting around to the palaces would have been difficult and taken us a long time to figure out on our own. The intricacies of traveling/tickets/timing of the palaces are challenging to say the least. Carol and Margarida are knowledgeable, entertaining, and we truly enjoyed their companionship. They made this tour one of the highlights of our 10 day trip to Portugal. Obrigada!

This trip was amazing .. so much fun, a lot to see and to learn .. and our tour guide Carolina was the best , she was so much informative, so lovely and smiling all the time , she helped us a lot and gave us more of her own time .. among all the trips that we done in Portugal, this trip was the best, and Carolina was the best tour guide.

We were so grateful to have a guide to navigate us through the intricacies of getting around Sintra. The park had been closed for several days due to the high fire danger, so the day we went was chaotic with traffic. We probably spent as much time sitting in traffic as we did exploring the sites, which was a little frustrating. It would have been nice to spend more time walking through the gardens. Our guide was fabulous, fun and informative. It was great to have someone else worry about parking and buying tickets etc. We were taken to a fabulous restaurant for lunch and given fabulous insights into the history of Sintra. A great way to spend our last day in Portugal!

Our guide for the day was Carolina. She is an energetic and knowledgeable young woman. She shared much information and knew the area very well. She was the warmest, kindest person. It was like touring with the Portuguese version of our daughter! The day felt like an informative, fun day spent with family. This tour was well worth every penny! Thank you Carolina!
