Ze was amazing. A gracious host who loved passing on his love of his country’s food, wine and culture to us. We had people of different skill levels and some were reserved but he got us all involved. We not only learned how to make the dishes but the reason why they are so loved by the Portuguese and how they came to be. The wines he passed were great and we learned why he chose them and where they came from. Being in a house we felt more a part of the community. We could have stayed there all night but unfortunately we did have to be out early the next day. IF THERE IS ONE THING YOU DO IN LISBON THIS IS IT!

We were 3 couples and we scheduled a private traditional Portuguese cooking class. Chef Ana was fantastic and the food we prepared was delicious. We made pasteis de nata for dessert and they were excellent. All alcohol drinks are included and a link to the recipes is provided. A great activity and super fun. The studio was set up well so each of us had a cooking station with some of the prep already completed. Highly recommend!

This was an amazing experience with a wonderful authentic Portuguese host in his cozy, authentic home. The food from 1st course to last was fabulous and plentiful. This was well worth every euro. It will be a long evening with plenty of wine. We highly recommend it!

Wonderful evening with great food, plenty of wine and a generous and kind host. We learned some interesting things about Portugal, its cuisine and the wine regions. And walked out with a new favorite dish to cook and eat at home! Our host could not have been kinder or more generous. Highly recommended for a night to remember.

We had such a wonderful time at Ze’s. He taught us how to prepare some of the typical Portuguese dishes. We prepared some starters and also codfish. He is an amazing chef and host. We felt like eating with a friend. Planning to go back soon!

We really enjoyed our cooking class with Filipa! The final desert was amazing! Thank you so much Filipa for your kindness and for this wonderful experience, we will never forget it!

We had a nice time cooking with Ze, and the food was great! However, it's been a couple of weeks, and we haven't received the recipes yet. We have reached out a couple of times with no response, which is disappointing as I would like to recreate the meal while it's fresh in my mind. Hopefully we will get it soon.

This was Amazing and one of the highlights of our trip in Lisbon!! We received meal that we were able to assist in preparing hosted by an incredible chef. Ze is funny , interesting and a fount of knowledge in both cooking and the history of Portugal. He was an excellent host who took his time to allow us to thoroughly enjoy our meal. We also enjoyed sharing the evening with two other couples. I would very happily recommend this experience to anyone visiting Lisbon.

Filipa is an amazing host and makes you feel so close to her even if the class is online! She gave us real tips and shared the secrets for cooking delicious Portuguese pastries. She is so welcoming that it is like travelling to Lisbon in seconds, but remaining in your own kitchen! It was a lovely way to enjoy a different afternoon during the lockdown. Oh! and the Pasteis de Nata were soooo delicious!!!

I am feeling like a real chef after the class hahaha. Will try to cook more in the future! Loved the idea of online real cooking class that I can be directed by real people and fix the mistake without just giving up entirely!

Ze is a great host and wonderful cook. We had a great time from when we walked in until we left many hours later. He quickly put us at ease, making it clear we should feel at home. In his family, the table is the place to be - to enjoy great food and wine, and one another. We were able to experience this at his home. As the five of us don't speak Portuguese, Ze's fluency in English made it easy to talk about many topics. He loves to talk about the foods, cheeses and wines of Portugal. You get a clear appreciation of what he is serving and why it is a typical dish in Portugal. With five of us, we had several food restrictions which wasn't a problem for Ze. In one case, he prepared a delicious typical dish which one of us couldn't eat. He also prepared a variation of that same dish so that person could eat it and get a sense of the original dish. Ze is an urban planner, as are two of us. He provided many insights about development in Lisbon and Portugal. It was a delightful evening. Fabulous food, wonderful atmosphere and truly a great bargain.

We could not have had a better introduction to the cuisine and culture of Lisbon than with Elsa & Vanda. Everything was superb - environment, food, company and hospitality.

What a delightful, charming host! My dinner with Zé included a discussion of the herb garden in his backyard, the artwork on the wall, multi-cultural friends, the theater and the world in general. I’m people oriented. HOWEVER, I love great food, too, and dinner was superb. I selected the dining through Portugal experience. Zé called me in advance to ask about food allergies and dislikes. Dinner was planned around that including a dish that contained one of my “dislikes!!” I asked for a second helping of that dish. He’s a talented magician at countering your palate’s expectations. I’ve personally referred dining without Zé to friends and family. I’m happy to share it her with the world.

We had a wonderful time with ze in his authentic apartment where he served a meal of many courses that were all terrific. He gave us the history of the dishes and types of Portuguese cuisine. His own family history was also very interesting. We also enjoyed interacting with the other guest. A highlight of Our trip.
