          Amazing Country! Phenomenal tour guide!
My family and I had an amazing time in Portugal! We travelled for Christmas and New Year and Carlos made the trip unforgettable. He was such a great host and was so knowledgable; we were blessed to have a great travel companion. Carlos did such a phenomenal job with the country that we are seriously considering retiring to Portugal! We will definitely use Carlos and Andre when we inevitably visit again. A great day!
This was a truly memorable day. Andre was a wonderful tour guide for our group of six. Very friendly and knowledgeable. We visited both the magnificent Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira on a misty day which added to the magic of the setting. He arranged lunch for us at a nice oceanfront restaurant outside Cascais. We drove back to Lisbon via Estoril.

          Stunning Nazare and Obidos
This tour was my personal favorite. Nazare is unbelievably beautiful and home to some of the biggest waves in the world. Andre guided us through both Nazare and Obidos with passion and knowledge. We enjoyed hearing history, trying ginja, and exploring the charming streets of Obidos. Andre accommodated our wishes and became like a friend!

          Lisbon gems from a local
Andre enthusiastically showed us so many beautiful parts of the city of Lisbon. He was engaging and professional throughout our time together. We especially enjoyed seeing Alfama and Belem. We took his recommendation to walk around The Carriage Museum after our tour. He is a wealth of knowledge!

          Remarkable Experience
We embarked on a relaxing trip and had incredible experiences. Andre provided a unique, personal, and memorable experience, ensuring each day was different. Each destination offered unique charm and stunning sights, leaving unforgettable memories. Andre, knowledgeable and passionate about the country's history and arts, provided insights into local cultures rooted in ancient landmarks from Portugal's history to its modern state. Breathtaking monuments such as Pena Palace, Furnas Do Guincho, Monsaraz, Obidos leave a lasting impression. Their architecture and design always reveal something new, from carvings to inscriptions to paintings. Leisurely stroll through the town's narrow streets leads to ancient churches, where captivating local stories, historical significance, and evolution can be discovered. We get to hear interesting local stories about the places, ask questions why it is significant, and how it became to be what it is today. Cascais, along the Guincho Highroad, features Furnas Do Guincho, a renowned seafood restaurant with a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean. Private walking tours through cobblestone streets and traditional houses in Amarante offer a unique and immersive experience, transporting visitors to a different era. Led by Andre, these tours explore hidden gems and off-the-beaten-path locations, that were not crowded with tourists, providing an authentic taste of the town's essence, including traditional pastries and tea in local homes settings. Porto is a charming city with renowned monuments, offering a glimpse into its rich history. Visitors can explore the origins of knights, powerful kings, the reformation, and the birth of Portugal through its architectural highlights. The São Bento train station's beautiful hand-painted tile panels reflect the city's heritage, while a stroll through its picturesque narrow streets and houses provides a glimpse into the past. Overlooking the ocean from a clifftop viewpoint in Nazaré, we took a leisurely stroll along the sandy beach, admiring the sun-dried fish, octopus, and fishing boats. Lunch at Peso da regua is one of the many nice local cafés in the pleasant town near to Douro Valley is always a great way to chill. We challenged ourselves to climb the 600 stairs at Braga to reach a cathedral and admire fountains representing the five senses. Quinta do Tedo, a cozy winery in the Douro Valley, offers delicious wines amidst terraced vineyards. The local cuisine offered a delightful exploration of flavours, particularly the unique taste of the traditional Portuguese Pastéis de Belém near Mosteiro dos Jerónimos. Enjoy local homemade cuisine (which can often be difficult to find in a restaurant) and learn about folklores and simple dishes from skilled chefs during lunch. For a satisfying meal, Galeto, Saldanha offers traditional Portuguese beef steak sandwich The itineraries were well-paced and comfortable, we would not be able to see as much as we could without a good guide. Thoughtful touches like providing bottled water and express lane entries to attractions enhance the overall experience. I cannot recommend it enough to anyone looking to broaden their horizons and indulge in the joys of travel.

A perfect trip to Portugal made possible by the professionalism and passion of Nomad Inspiration.
What a wonderful seven days in Portugal - all made possible by the careful attention to detail, passion and professionalism of Andre Antunes and Nomad Inspiration. I first started corresponding with Andre a little over a year ago and described what my wife and I were looking for - a higher end private tour of Lisbon and Porto over a seven day period. Andre responded to my initial e-mail and every subsequent e-mail promptly. He provided an in-depth itinerary which fleshed out the trip in much greater detail. After some fine tuning, we had a plan. We met Andre at the airport and he was a delight. Warm, thoughtful, competent - he provided us with comfort that everything was set for a beautiful week. All tickets necessary for any sites had been pre-purchased, so there would be no waiting on lines. After relaxing at the Memmo Principe Real for a few hours, we were picked up by Sandra Botelho for a half day Tuk-Tuk tour of Lisbon. Nomad Inspiration is only as good as their guides - and Sandra didn't disappoint. Indeed, she was one of the highlights of our trip. An actress who loves the people and food of Portugal, Sandra took us on a joyous and informative tour of Lisbon. Her warmth and passion for her country and her city made the tour so very memorable - sharing little bits of information that the average guide might not have. We even went to her favorite spot for Pastel de Nata. Delicious. We have a a pretty good feel for what it means to live in Lisbon. The next several days, we were in the very good hands of Luis Rodrigues. A full day private tour of Sintra, Cascais and the Estoril coast was a delight. All lines at Sintra Palace and Quinta de Regaleira were bypassed. Luis has given this tour before, but he somehow manages to keep it fresh, informative and entertaining. Andre arranged for a lunch in Cascais at Furnas do Guincho on the beach and it was lovely. The following day, Luis picked us up at the hotel for the drive to Porto. All the way up, Luis provided us with information about the country - about cork, port wine and eucalyptus trees. A stop at his favorite pastry ship in Obidos was well worth it - as was several hours in Nazare where we enjoyed another lunch on the beach arranged by Andre at Pangeia by the Sea. It was lovely and enhanced by Luis joining us. We arrived at Hotel Casa da Companhia in a lovely part of Porto and then met Luis the following day for a tour of the city. We of course saw the major sites. But what my wife and I enjoyed the most about Luis were the little things, the special moments that are not in every tour guide. Like the time we went into a fashionable men's clothing store which was not visible from the main road. The store was in what had been an 18th century hospital. Luis introduced us to the owner who then took us on a private tour of the building, what was happening there hundreds of years ago, and how proud he was of the restoration that they had done. An unexpected special moment. Throughout the week, Andres was always in touch with us. Confirming by text the events of the coming day and always available for any questions we might have. Andres and his team are to be applauded. They provided us with a memorable private tour of a wonderful country which we can't wait to return to. Obrigado!!!

Customized tour plan, fit our needs perfectly!
Andre was great to communicate with and plan a trip to Portugal. We gave our needs, preferences and constraints, and he came back with a plan that worked perfectly for us. He was with us all the way, from meeting us at the airport when we landed to dropping us off at the airport. He know and clearly loves his country very much, and it shows in his passion sharing the knowledge. He tailored the pace and level of detail to suit our needs. I highly recommend this, if you ae looking for a great experience while enjoying a stress free trip.

This is your Guide in Portugal!
We want to recommend Nomadinspiration and Andre Antunes to anyone considering a trip to Portugal. We had only a very general knowledge of Portugal, and so were not able to prove more than interests. Andre came up with an excellent itinerary. He also welcomed feedback, making adjustments as we were able to give him more information – with plenty of new ideas along the way, as he helped us discover new interests. Andre brings a knowledge of his country, its history and its culture that is as broad as it is deep, and he shares it with an enthusiasm that cannot help but be infectious. To give a sense of the breadth of his knowledge, our tour ranged from cities to medieval towns, from fortresses to forests, from prehistoric monoliths and cave paintings to marble quarries and tile makers and small wineries. Let’s talk about food. His knowledge included local specialties, which were well worth it. Andre also had great restaurant recommendations, and ways of finding new ones as we stopped along the way. (We did, however, have to ban pastries after a few days – not that they were bad, but we had to fit into our clothes!) Finally, let us admit that, even in a country as welcoming as Portugal, we are nervous travelers. With Andres we never felt uncomfortable, from the time we were picked up at the airport to the time we left. Thank you, Andre and Nomadinspiration!

          Best Adventure with Andre -!
Andre was everything you could want in a tour guide! He was personable, super organized, resourceful and a delight to spend several days with touring Portugal. I booked him (group of 2 couples) several months in advance and he was always prompt with return emails including suggestions/feedback for planning our days in advance. Once together he was very flexible as we adjusted to our daily energy level and the hot weather. Andre is an energic seasoned tour guide and very knowledgeable about his home country - from the detailed history of Pena Palace to authentic seaside restaurants. Our first visit to Portugal was wonderful, but our memories with Andre made it one of our best adventures! Book him early!

The Chapel of Bones, Evora Portugal is a truly unique and fascinating spot, unlike any other religious building you are likely to encounter. Imagine stepping into a small chapel, every surface intricately decorated with thousands of human bones and sculls. Sculls stare down from the vault above, femurs form arches and ribs line the walls crating a macabre yet oddly beautiful mosaic. Visiting the Chapel of Bones is a thought provoking experience. It’s a powerful reminder of our own mortality and encourages contemplation on life, death, and the eternal cycle of existence.

The town of Evora is a beautiful place with so much to see and do and some very unique experiences. The Chapel of Bones is both fascinating and a bit macabre too. In this town one can experience many centuries of history all within its walled perimeter. Highly recommended as a destination during a trip to Portugal.
