Manuel was so much fun with his honesty and humor. He shared many facts about the history of the Palace of Pena and the area of Sintra in general. As I was traveling solo, it was obviously up to me what I wanted to visit. Manuel was highly responsive to and patient with my requests throughout the whole day. As he speaks several languages, it was a bonus for me to listen to and speak in French and English. Manuel made it feel as though I was spending the day with a longtime friend.

We had the absolute pleasure of touring with Manuel da Silva Lopes through Sintra, Cascais, many palaces, small villages and their markets. We had told him we were mostly interested in seeing and doing what the locals see, do, and eat. He took us to beautiful sights in a fishing village and to a farmers market where we bought amazing wine, cheese, and olives. He gave us great information, history, and stories that we surely wouldn’t have received from any other tour. This tour was totally personalized and we got to explore a part of Portugal we would’ve probably never known about! By far our favorite day throughout our trip. Highly, highly recommend!
