About the operator
- AEHoney00Visit with caution and consider the age of the venue.Tour with Open Mind. Traveling to take tour visitors should consider hiring a private tour and guide with transportation. We took a taxi there, but coming back became a challenge as the castle is up in a hill and we had to walk down the steep hills until we were at the bottom where taxi cabs are readily available. It is definitely not stroller and most definitely not wheel chair suitable. There are many steps to climb up to the towers. Still a must see for historical and own knowledge.
- ralphc93200A great way to make sure you will enjoy your time in LisbonI believe a tour like the one we took is essential if you are visiting for a few days, to gain insights from a local that save you time and allow you to concentrate on the activities you really want. Our guide, Sofia, was awesome. She certainly knows the city, its history, its monuments, as well as present day Lisbon. She gave us many valuable tips of where to go and what to explore according to our interests. For example, we ended up having dinner at Alfama, a beautiful and traditional Lisbon neighborhood, during the celebration of its Saint Patron, Saint Anthony (who, by the way, was a native of Lisbon). We went to a Fado presentation, after she gave us a primer of the history of this beautiful music. We had a great time at Sintra, following her suggestions of places to visit.
- Extraordinary18176000Wonderful day trip!!.We had booked this trip months ago and were not sure what to expect. It was expected to be a small group and really lucked out when it turned out to be just the 2 of us!. We had the best driver Celso Araujo with his very confortable BMW and our very knowledgeable, polite and professional guide Gonzalo Murta. Celso was very cautious of the road as he drove us while Gonzalo gave us a very detailed history of how Portugal came to be throughout the years of wars and conquests, very impressive!. He really knew his stuff. Once in Porto we had of course a porto wine tasting which was included in our tour and it was really very interesting. Afterwards we had lunch in a typical Portuguese restaurant(delicious) and then on to a 50 minutes river cruise also included in our tour. We walked the town as Gonzalo pointed out most of its landmarks, did some souvenir shopping and returned to the car which Celso had at the ready!. This was a very pleasant, informative and enjoyable tour. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a great day in Porto. Hopefully you too luck out and get to meet Gonzalo and Celso!. They were amazing!!. 🇵🇹
- CabKings00Serious tourist trap, just cruise around the shops in Alfamma District and take train to Sintra for an amazing castleThis is a nothing site. The entire area is a way to suck money away from tourist, i find it very unappealing. The shops at base of castle in Alfamma district are better to visit. Small alleys, good local food and drink about a 15 minute wLk from Chiado district. The Palace in Sintra (50 minute train ride for 2 is $10 euro round trip) is a much better site.
- sayer201900Porto tourWe went during the shoulder season so we were the only ones on our tour thus ending up being a private tour! We stopped for breakfast on the way to Porto, a good 3 hour drive. Porto is a beautiful city especially along the Douro river. We went to the 19th century palace, Sao Francisco church and also did wine tasting in one of the wineries along the Douro River. Overall, a great trip!
- TimO30200Beautiful Island, but...The actual island of Berlengas is gorgeous and has some nice paths to walk around. Unfortunately it was a long car ride (1hr 20min) to/from Lisbon and then a 20+ min ferry to/from the island. Once you are on island there is a bit of a mad scramble to get all of the various tours on small glass-bottom boats with little to no explanation to the dozens of tourists. After the relatively brief (10-15 min) glass-bottom boat experience, you have the option of walking through the old fort and up onto the main part of the island. I highly recommend doing this, but it is a healthy walk - I wouldn't do it in flip flops. After this hike (~45 min) you have the remaining 2+ hours to explore/swim/eat/drink. There is really only one place to eat and it is decent. The other paths on the island are relatively quiet and have good vantage points of the sea. This tour is a bit more expensive than other options and doesn't seem to offer any major benefits for that cost. Put it this way: if you keep your expectations low you'll have a lovely little afternoon. But it did make us feel a bit captive as we impatiently waited for the ferry back to the mainland.
- married9600WATCH OUT FOR A FALLWhile standing in a long line to purchase tickets my wife did not see the 18" metal pipes in the streets to prevent cars from parking. She fell on her face hitting the cobblestone street. He received a bruise chin, cuts on her nose and above her lips plus scrapped knees and elbows. The famous "knee knockers" are about 3 ft. high and more visible. Otherwise a great place to visit. You can see beautiful expansive views of the sea plus view the old ruins. You can't miss the pair of peacocks making noise and sitting in the trees Cobblestones are rough on walking..
