- 461geraldinel00A WONDERFUL TOUR WITH FIRST CLASS SERVICE ALL THE WAY.The tour was amazing - so informative and professional, yet in a relaxed and friendly way. We visited interesting and beautiful places, it has given us memories which we will never forget. We are very grateful our wonderful guide, Hugo, who gave us the best tour experience possible. Everything was first class. Hugo went above and beyond expectations when he delivered my son-in-laws sunglasses (left in the back of his car) back to our hotel the following night, we are very appreciative of his kind gesture. Do not hesitate to book a tour with this company, they provide 'high end' service and they will meet your expectations without question.
- harkantj00Excellent tour of the Algarve regionThree day / 2 night private tour of the Algarve region with our tour guide/driver Philipp Ruoff was something we will cherish forever. From hotel pick up to drop off - everything was handled with utmost care .Philipp’s knowledge of the region and touring the main areas including some of the hidden gems that are off the beaten path made this a truly remarkable experience. We would highly recommend this company.
- joseandteresav00The perfect trip (it was our 32nd anniversary) great celebration. It was a magical experience overall. The scenery was very beautiful and the places we visited were all very interesting. Our private guide Hugo was amazing, very knowledgeable about the history of all the sites, great driver, very attentive of our needs and very professional. I highly recommend this tour but more importantly, request for Hugo to be your guide.
- KimtheNetherlands00Highly Recommend! Fantastic private tours catered to our needs, for multiple locations in PortugalWe actually did three days of private tours with Knight Riders Tourism: one day private tour of Lisbon, one day in Oporto, and one day in Sintra and Caiscais. I was traveling with my two elderly parents (over 80) and wanted private tours so that we could travel comfortably and adjust to my parent's energy levels, and get us as close to all the sights as possible. Our guide was Hugo, and not only was he great in explaining all the history and significant sights that we saw, he was also a great driver and drove us as close to the many sights as possible, as well as facilitating our getting ahead in the queues to avoid my father having to wait in long lines. It was an amazing experience, and we were able to see much more and more comfortably than had we done it with a larger group or by ourselves. Well worth it!! Thank you Knight Riders Tourism and thank you Hugo!!
- U5832NOmichaelt00The warmth of the Portuguese people, food, & culture!I would like to send a special thank you “Obrigada” to my very knowledgeable travel/tour guide Mr. Hugo (see in photos below)! His knowledge of the history and cultures of Portugal was above reproach. He’s a highly skilled motorist and was adept in moving throughout the Portuguese countryside all the while speaking with me and sharing his experiences, knowledge of history and background during the tour. Trabalho bem feito…job well done!! ~Mike Thompson
- dbedwell100100Well worth a visitExcellent tour with a premium ticket so tasting of the white, ruby and tawny ports. Really enjoyable, the guide was knowledgeable and ensured everyone enjoyed the experience
- Martie S00Porto’sOur tour guide Filipe Rodrigues was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the city of Porto’s. We had a great time and would have liked to have spent more time in Porto.
- davidkR7496JX00Waterfront touringWe had an exceptional time with Phillip! He knows the area and scenery well and is a pleasure to tour with. Highly recommend!!!
- Sylvia G00Worth the drive whatever the costNazare' was awesome. Beautiful views. Best part was HUGO...perfect #10 guide, personalized our trip & shared history & helpful hints for our next venture to Porto! We'd do any trip he was giving🤩
- Tmney00Loved it!Absolutely loved this tour! My sister and I got to spend the day with Hugo. He was a knowledgeable guide and provided a lot of great information about Merida and Evora. Thank you, Hugo, for the wonderful time!
- AmandaR89300Perfect day in SintraMy mother and I (age 75 and 50) had an incredible day trip with Arthur. He picked us up right on time from our hotel. He was friendly, spoke perfect English, and made sure to accommodate all of our needs and interests. Our first stop was the Moorish Castle, which we loved being able to explore before all of the crowds arrived. We truly had the place to ourselves and were able to get some amazing pictures. Although some waiting was unavoidable at the other attractions due to crowds, he went out of his way to make the process as comfortable and efficient as possible. My favorite site was the regaleira initiation well. Although this was the one destination he was unable to enter with us, he gave us clear directions. He was flexible with our itinerary, allowing time for us to look around in the nearby shops before returning to the vehicle to head back to Lisbon. It was an amazing day in every way and a highlight of our vacation. Do not hesitate to book this tour as it is worth every pernny!
- davidkR7496JX00Best day of the tripBest day of the trip and one to remember forever. We asked to do some scuba diving and the team set us up with a nice dive of some shipwrecks in the morning, followed by a perfect lunch at a fresh fish place near the water. The food was incredible. We drove through the mountainside to see ancient ruins and the views of the small towns and ocean. We took pictures but I don’t think we’ll need them, I’ll never forget that coastline. Our tour went to a popular winery with delicious options and good prices. All in all an exception tour of the countryside. Our guide was Phillip who was thoughtful, fun, and accommodating. His presence made our experience somehow even better. I would highly recommend a tour with him to see all the best sites in Sesimbra!
- khundkerh00Excellent private tour. Our tour guide Philipp picked us up from our hotel on time. He showed us the Moorish castle, the West Point of the continental Europe and the Central Mosque of Lisbon. Philipp was very knowledgeable and drove us around other points of interest to us. The lunch at Marakkesh restaurant was excellent, we enjoyed the halal food. I am going to recommend my friends/family to this tour when they visit Lisbon.
- hyasminec00Amazing !It was a memorable, pleasant experience . Learned so much about the history of the City and my destinations. I highly recommend this tour and specially, Mr. Escudeiro
- jrgarcia2200Hugo gave the best experienceHugo was amazing! He let us design the day, and adjusted our stops based on our preferences. He gave a lot of insight to the Portuguese culture, recommended places to try in Lisbon and Sintra. He took us along the coast and amazing views of Cacais. He’s very personable and 100% fluent in English. If you can request him, he makes the day.

Very worthwhile visit to an amazingly beatiful city. We were lucky to go with the very attentive and super knowledgeable guide, Hugo. The visit to the port wine cellars was quite interesting and enjoyable. Lunch was at a non touristy restaurant near the mouth of the Douro where the food was delicious. The old town is truly charming, with stunning views from every spot. The cathedral and nearby Santa Clara chruch are stunning. We learned a lot from our expert companion and thoroughly enjoyed the professionalism of this operator.

We had a super enjoyable trip to Porto and back with Arthur, our wonderful guide and host! Arthur went out of his way to share his knowledge of the many sites we passed through on the way to Porto and back to Lisbon. The wine tasting in Porto was fantastic, and the lunch afterwards was relaxing and very enjoyable. We particularly appreciated Arthur's willingness to make a few additional stops to show us more of Portugal's fascinating history and culture. It was our 40th anniversary that day, and we were thrilled with the experience! (if you're reading reviews and wondering if you should book trips like this - the answer is yes!!)

Had an absolutely incredible day in the city of Porto with our equally amazing tour guide Hugo. Very knowledgeable, polite, and friendly. He helped us navigate the city with ease and took us to a wonderful local lunch spot before the absolutely stunning wine tasting. Would highly recommend. Thanks again Hugo.

This experience was the highlight of our trip to Portugal! Philipp is a fantastic and accommodating tour guide who kept us entertained during the long drive and was happy to adjust to any individual requirements and wishes giving us plenty of options and insider knowledge along the way. We definitely wouldn’t have learned or seen as much if we were doing the trip on our own.
Wine tour, Portuguese lunch and the town were wonderful and we felt like VIPs throughout. Despite the long drive, the day flew by. Of course this trip is not enough to see everything Porto has to offer but as a taster it is superb!

I am giving this trip a 1star rating not because the city of Porto isn't worth a visit - in fact my friends and I believe the city had lots to offer - we just weren't privy to most of it. The tour was advertised as a full-day private tour with a "personalized experience and customizable itinerary" - little did we know that it meant "plan your own adventure." We were picked up about 7:30am in what was far from a "first class" vehicle and not until a rest stop - about 2 hours in - were the first words spoken and only because we tried to engage our "guide" by asking what we were going to do. We were told simply that we would be visiting a Port wine cellar (one of two highlights of the day - lunch was the second). The tour description specifically states "once arriving in Porto, head straight to some of the city’s landmarks, such as Porto Sé Cathedral, Torre and Igreja dos Clérigos, and Bolhão Market," but we saw none of those. In fact, our "guide" asked us what we wanted to do, but seeing as how none of us had been before and we were under the impression the day was planned out, we had to Google ideas and provide them to him. Not at one point during the day was anything actually explained to us (no historical information or landmark facts) and maybe that was a blessing in disguise considering our "guide" was virtually incomprehensible - he was neither engaging nor articulate and spoke so quietly we had to strain to hear him. He tried to use just returning from his holiday break as his excuse for his lack of engagement. On the way back to Lisbon we did not take the "breathtaking drive along the ocean, passing the Cheese Castle (Castelo de Queijo), the trendy Foz district, [and] the Arrábida Bridge (Ponte da Arrábida)." We traveled the A1 both ways, stopping first to give the "guide" a cigarette break (at a gas station which he failed to use) and then about 10 minutes from dropping us off back at Lisbon because he almost ran out of gas. We paid a lot of money for this tour, but instead of a guided tour of Porto, we only got a driver who went through some of the streets of Porto and failed to take us to the advertised locations.

We booked this September tour in July. We did not know what to expect. We just know that we wanted to see Porto. A few days before this tour we heard from a guide that we might not enjoy Porto because it is a 3 hour drive to get there and 3 hours to get back. So essentially not much to do and see for a few hours. I was a little worried. Our guide, Hugo, was very nice and knowlegeable. My friend and I surprised that we were the only 2 people on the tour. Hugo made us comfortable. He explained what we will be doing. We told him of our concerns about not being able to see a lot in the short time. He was very accommodating and he told us we will have a great time in Porto. We had a 2 1/2 hour drive and he told us that if we were tired it is ok for us to sleep. Which we did. Hugo is a very good driver and we felt really comfortable. We made one stop about an hour and a half into the trip to stretch our legs and then we continued to Gaia. Hugo explained to us that the Duoro Valley had the grapes and the wine was eventually taken to the cellars in Gaia and Porto. The place is amazing. Standing on the side of the River in Gaia looking into Porto and the Ponte de Arrabida bridge. It is just breathtaking. Pictures don't do it justice. As we arrived we did not have to wait long and the wine tour and tasting started right away. I think Hugo timed our arrival perfectly. After the tour we walked around a little on the Gaia side of the river, looking a some shops then he took us to an authentic Portuguese restaurant. I am very impressed because it was not on the touristy side of the town. It was out of the way and you can see that locals are going into the restaurant. The food was delicious. I am so sorry I cannot remember the name of this restaurant. After lunch we continued into Porto, where we made several stops to see the town. The train station is so beautiful. The whole town was beautiful. We went to a bookstore where JK Rowling used to buy her books and saw the stairs into this bookstore that was the inspiration for Harry Potter. We stopped to look into a McDonald's. Yes McDonald's, but inside was chandeliers and stained glass. You would never think you were inside a McDonalds. We walked around the city, we looked into some churches. We saw the university. We were able to view Gaia on the side of the river in Porto. We even walked the bridge from Porto and into Gaia. All in all we had very full day in Porto. I highly recommend this tour and if you can request for Hugo to be your guide, you should. He made our day.

The host was great. Philippe was very knowledgeable and friendly. He showed us a lot of great sights and tailored the tour to not only what he thought the best things to see and do were, but also took our input into consideration. He took us to a favorite of his and it did not disappoint. Everything from the starter to dessert was exceptional and had my wife raving even the very next day about it. Definitely a one of a kind experience that would have been so without Philippe.

Hello,
We would like to book the tour for two people, however we would love our guide be either Hugo or Diogo, NOT Nicole's guide. Is there a way to make sure this could happen? Thank you!

We are thinking about doing this but do do not plan to head back to Lisbon but instead stay in Porto. Is this possible? But, we want Hugo or Diego not the tour guide who took Nicole!

Just contact the tour company - my guess is they will find a way to accommodate you
alternative is to take the train up to Porto from Lisbon and arrange your tour there with a local company
if you have the “extra” day go out to the Douro Valley

If you just wanted to see Fatima not stay for the mass it will be ok to add that to your Porto trip. I took a sole Fatima trip because we attended mass and immersed ourselves with activities there. Porto alone -one day isn’t enough ...I am a history buff and really browse around...but if you just want a fleeting quick see through then you can add Fatima to Porto....enjoy...
