This was an excellent trip that I would recommend. A lot of companies offer this standard itinerary and I think for the most part it works. Our guide Savio was very knowledgeable and friendly. The highlight is the Pena palace at Sintra, which we visited first thing to avoid the crowds. The guided tour offered by Savio was also very interesting. The only drawback I found was that sometimes it was a bit hard to follow along with the commentary, since inside the palace is quite tight. We were about 20 people which was totally fine in general but except for inside the palace itself. The visit to Cascais was also nice, but could actually be skipped in favor of more time at Sintra since the area has more palaces and trails that could be explored. We could have also made a stop at the cabo de inferno in Cascais, since that seemed to be a highlight but was unfortunately too far from our drop off point in Cascais. However, those were minor issues in an otherwise great trip. I would definitely recommend it.

Max, the guide, was punctual, organized, friendly and knowledgeable. He explained the history of Peña Palace and during the visit of the interior of the Palace he explained about the decorations and the items on display.
At the end of the visit to the Palace, we had free time to walk around on our own.
After the Palace, we went to Sintra town. We had about 1 hr and 15 minutes to either have lunch in Sintra town or walk around the town and explore. Some people went to Sintra Palace just to see it from the outside as there wasn’t enough time to go inside.

We also visited Cabo de Roca, the Western point in Europe. We stayed enough time for pictures and walk the top of the cliff.

Cascais is a beautiful beach time. We had free time to walk around before we returned back to Lisbon. The trip started at 830 am and ended around 5ish

This tour was great! The Pena palace was stunning. It was a bit crowded so be prepared to wait in line for about 40 minutes. I did not mind the wait because there is so much to look at while you stand in line. Our guide Diogo was friendly, knowledgeable, and very good at making sure everyone could hear what he was saying as we filtered through the small rooms he would repeat what he said after he already passed through so the back of the group knew what they were looking at as they walked in after him. We had a wonderful lunch with a view in Sintra at a place Diogo recommended. Overall a wonderful day and a great tour!

Sintra is worth visiting, just take a Uber (€20-25) and do the self guided tour in the palace. It gets very busy very fast, but it’s also very foggy and misty early so there is really isn’t a perfect time to visit.

The palace of Sintra is not good for big tour group like ours (22 people). Each room could fit about 4-6 people, so when the guide is talking in the room, most of us are stuck 2-3 rooms back and have no idea what the guide is saying. Our guide also kept saying ‘this painting’ ‘that portrait’ instead of being descriptive (on the right next to XXX) so made it really hard to follow. The lunch recommendation from the guide was terrible (see Sintra Terrace review). We generally found the service at Sintra to be a huge contrast from Lisbon, where in Sintra they are so obviously sick of the hoards of tourists that descend on the little town.

It was a 30 min ride from Lisbon and our guide cracked a few clever jokes here and there, but I’m disappointed as he could’ve use the time to talk about the history of Sintra/Lisbon/Portugal.

The tour also included a pit stop at the most western point of Europe. It was fine and honestly could skip if you don’t have time to burn. Cascais is a busy beach town, cute but nothing extraordinary.

Rather a shambles I'm afraid.
Tour guide was very inexperienced and unprepared. Particularly for a complete downpour ( not an uncommon event as we later found out). We were herded around the Palace after a long queue for entry and when we left we had to endure a 20 minute wait in pouring rain as some of our party ( due to our guides lack of planning and communication) were still in the castle. The guide told us the bus could only come to pick us up when all the party were together at the allocated departure spot as the bus driver would be fined if he was there more than 3 minutes.
Such poor customer service. Very disappointing.

Unfortunately, with the massive heat wave the Pena palace and gardens were closed and it was impossible to visit. This was to be the highlight of the day and we were only advised 24hrs ahead of time. We were never given the option to cancel or modify the booking unlike other companies. ( I heard that other companies did offer better options to other tourists). Ana, our guide was really great and our driver was super kind but I wish we had "more" to compensate for the huge missing piece. I know these are circumstances that no one controls but given that the park and palace have been closed for a few days I would have expected this to be handled a little better.

The published group size is 15. We were on a bus with 26 people. This is overpriced for a less personalized experience. Also, there was a mix up with the meeting time and place and the guide insisted that the pick up time was 10 minutes earlier than published.

The tour guide was good. However given the size of the group, she was two + rooms ahead of us when describing rooms in the palace making it hard to follow. When we got to Sintra, she didn't mention that the National Palace, which is excellent, was right across the street. We luckily had a Rick Steve's guide and knew to visit. The rest of the group wandered aimlessly.

This was a real disappointment for what could have been a great day.

Maria and Jessie are the dream team. If you are lucky, they will be your guides! The sites are interesting, as described, but Maria gets her tour to the Peña Palace early, before the crowds, and she keeps things moving, without rushing. An excellent tour guide!

The tour was SO good! I highly recommend! Our tour guide was Felipe. He gave great insight to the history and interesting facts/stories of all of the sites we visited. He was easy to ask questions to and consistently made sure everyone was doing well. We even asked him for recommendations for the rest of our trip after the tour. The tour was never boring or lulled. We traveled in a van that had air conditioning, music, and comfortable seats. Driving between sites included lots to see from the windows. It was the perfect time to rest between walking and site seeing while also still taking in Portugal. We had free time to eat and shop. My group felt the free time was never rushed but kept us on schedule - it was timed well. Filipe gave great restaurants and sight seeing recommendation while we had free time. We only spent a weekend in Lisbon but this tour provided easy transportation to the other popular sites of Lisbon and made us feel like we were able to see the best of Portugal in a short amount of time. Thanks!!!

The trip was wonderful; on time, clean bud, reliable. But best of all was our amazing tour guide, Diego! We thought this young man had been a guide longer than the three months he actually has been. He pointed out relevant points of interest while mixing in humor. We were fortunate to have Diego as our guide as well as booking our travel with Turga.
