About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- CarrianneB0 contributionsAmazing Private Wellington TourWe had a fantastic experience on our Wellington Tour. Henrique was very knowledgeable about History and took us to a variety of great locations that not only were historically significant, but also beautiful and helped us visualize the stories. In addition, we got to have lunch at an authentic local restaurant and see a bonus cathedral. This was definitely a unique experience off the beaten path. Highly recommend!Written June 4, 2024
- L17XZsusanl0 contributionsTerrific Tour! This was exactly the tour we wanted. Henrique was professional, knowledgeable, flexible, and accommodating. Not only did we see all the sites we wanted, it was the perfect way to explore the countryside. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at a local restaurant in Mafra and still had the chance to visit the Palace/Cathedral there. Not only would we highly recommend this tour, we would certainly use this service again for another tour in the area.Written January 13, 2023
- Coxmama0 contributionsPrivate tour from Lisbon to Cascais, Sintra and Pena palace.Henrique was an absolute gentleman! He provided plenty of information, and was accommodating to our groups needs. He provided water bottles and a sweet local treat for us. We drove along the coast from Lisbon to Sintra, with a stop in Cascais for a walk along the boardwalk. I highly recommend this tour guide!Written September 29, 2022
- Martin S0 contributionsA fascinating, delightful day with Henrique!Henrique was our guide for a delightful day designed around our specific interests and temporarily limited mobility. We visited Estoril ( where we learned "Casablanca" was filmed), Cascais, a mountain viewpoint in the Serra da Sintra National Park with spectacular views of the coastline, Sintra itself but briefly because of the crowds, and on the way home, the Queluz Palace. Our day was all the more interesting because with his extensive knowledge of Portuguese history Henrique was able to put everything we saw into a more comprehensive context. Regrettably we don't know Portuguese so his facility with foreign languages was a vital contributor to our enjoyment. The day was also a wonderful eating experience because of Henrique's familiarity with the region, including a morning espresso and traditional pastry at Cascais and delicious lunch at at a restaurant where we are pretty sure the other guests were entirely Portuguese. Without hesitation we thoroughly recommend taking tours with Henrique!Written October 7, 2019
- Portigal0 contributionsGreat Tour in Area Just South of LisbonThis tour was wonderful, taking us to places one might not normally visit around Lisbon. Traveling across the bridge to the Santuario Nacional de Christo Rei provided an up-close view of this impressive monument, but also a great panorama of Lisbon from across the river. The Arribida area revealed great vistas. Setubal was busy, on a Sunday afternoon but mostly with locals eating by the seaside restaurants (seemed to be few tourists!). The fresh fish at the restaurant was excellent - you picked your fish and then they grilled it to perfection. Also, the fish market in Setubal is a must see; lots of different types of seafood, busy with locals buying their Sunday dinner. The fort of Sao Filipe was impressive affording great views of Setubal and the bay. The Bacalhoa winery was also unique. Not only could you sample great wines, buy also see a very impressive art collection, all in the same place. Our guide Henrique was excellent!! He was very knowledgeable, friendly and very accommodating to our needs. With prompt pick-up and drop off at our Lisbon hotel, this full day tour was very worthwhile and one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal.Written September 30, 2019

- 882staceyq0 contributionsAmazing experienceWe had a fabulous time on this excursion! These buildings are so rich with history. The guides speak several languages and are very welcoming. Our spot along the coast was Caba da Roca (western most point of Portugal)and it was breathtaking. It was quite windy but beautiful. Cute little café and gift shop there as well.Written January 21, 2019

- JVP6790 contributionsNice experience in Lisbon2 days with Henrique was like a week in Lisbon with my family. The tour was not only relaxing but fun and educational as well. The taste of local food in the countryside made the trip more exciting w/ a twist of gastronomic experience. Henrique doing what he does best is fun to be with and even gets out of his way to please his guests. From my family, obrigado Henrique! Jerry, Cathy & RenzoWritten May 7, 2018
- Brendan H0 contributionsSintra Half Day TourMy fiancé and I were connected with Henrique through the TAP stop over program. We spent a little over three hours exploring Cascais, Cabo de Roca, and Sintra. Henrique was great at pointing out areas of interest and switching between languages to accommodate all of the guests, we were a party of 5. Great program through TAP, and a great job by Henrique and Lisbon Van Tours!Written December 4, 2017
- Manuella B0 contributionsWine tasting tourMr. Henrique was a wonderful guide. I had booked the wine tasting tour through the TAP stopover program and didn’t quite know what to expect. But I had a great surprise. The tour was great and the wine too.Written November 23, 2017
- Jens K0 contributionsThat personal touch, which made our holiday particularly memorable…Initially we had booked a tour from Lisbon to Sintra, including Cascais, Guincho, Cabo da Roca. Then having found trust in Henrique we promptly decided to book a second tour with him. Spending our valuable holiday time traveling from Lisbon to Azeitão and through the Arrábida Natural Park. The highlights were that Henrique really brought out the unique parts of the journey. We were able to relax and leave him having to negotiate through Lisbon and along the picturesque roads of the coast and through the small idyllic village streets. We stopped here and there and were introduced to new, insider spots which we would have easily otherwise overseen. Henrique really kept us all hooked to his detailed insights and knowledge of the area, his approach just make travelling easy and fun. It allowed us to have our own freedom as well as experience beyond what every other traveler would feel and see. If you have not been to Portugal yet, we would certainly recommend it. Have a look at the pictures, they say more than what we can tell you about Henrique and how he introduced Portugal and made it our favorite destination. Much appreciated, Cris and JensWritten November 4, 2017
- Lal1201120 contributionsPerfect guide!Henrique was a very considerate guide who took care of me and my family very well! He showed us lisbon and its surroundings in a very personal and most informative way. Once he knew of our interests, he took care to highlight these in the tour, which made it perfect! Maraming salamat (muito obrigado), henrique!!Written October 2, 2017
- Sue M0 contributionsPersonally PortugalHenrique picked us up promptly from our rental, and gave our group of 4 family members a wonderfully in depth tour of the area between Lisbon and Sesimbra. We went up to the statue of Christo Rei and took in the spectacular views, then headed to a wine tasting at Bacalhoa winery. We then headed to Cape Espichel and took in the spectacular views of the cliffs there and the beautiful little church. We had a marvelous lunch in a small restaurant then visited two castles in Sesimbra and Palmela. All the while, Henrique provided detailed historical information of the sites visited as well as of Portugal in general. We stopped multiple times along our coastline drive to appreciate the Figuerinha beach and Arrabida mountain views. Our day was well over 8 hours before we headed back across the Vasco de Gama bridge, the longest bridge in Europe. We would not have been able to replicate the day on our own as well; with all Henrique's knowledge and expertise, this was a unique day. Obrigada, Henrique!Written September 24, 2017
