About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Y9523KFlaurac0 contributionsComplete waste of money. What a SCAM and waste of money! Our tour guide, Ruben, picked us up at a hotel just a few blocks away from where we were staying. The description was correct that it was a "small group"---the four in my group and 2 other women. Cannot fault our tour guide for the fact that it was a cloudy, foggy, drizzly morning, but the rest is on him: We drove up to the center of Sintra (I assume) and were told we would explore on our own. He took off, so there was no one to ask for suggestions/recommendations, etc. We walked back to the car and were driven up to the Pena Palace and he let us out (in the drizzle) while he parked. We then followed him to a long line of tourists waiting for one of 2 small tour buses making the property loop to take us up to the Palace. He then told us that there were "too many people" there that day and there were no more slots for people to actually go into the Palace. THAT'S WHAT WE PRE-PAID FOR! He walked us through a little open area outside, but we couldn't even take any photos of "views" because of the fog. We were allowed to quickly walk into a small chapel, and out again, then back on the little bus down to the parking area. That was it. That's all we saw of Pena Palace! That was the reason why we booked this tour! He then drove us to the Cabo da Roca, a monument marking the westernmost point on continental Europe. He pointed to the monument and never told us how much time we'd be able to stay there. While we walked over and took the obligatory photo in front of the marker, we couldn't see anything of the view because of the fog. My husband and sons went for a walk on the boardwalk area in hopes of catching a glimpse of the ocean further out, while I waited for them at the monument. 5 minutes later Ruben contacts me on What's App, obviously agitated that we weren't back yet! I texted my husband and they all hurried back to the parking lot. The final stop was the waterfront city of Cascais. Ruben gave us the recommendation of a chicken restaurant (which we never found), and we were completely on our own again. Ruben took off, not to be seen again until the agreed to meeting time at the car. At least the sun peeked through the clouds for a bit of that visit. Four adults cost just over $400...We could have done all the above for free just taking our rental car. Clearly, this operation is a SCAM and I strongly suggest you to either choose another tour group, or self direct. By the way...I have thousands of followers on my Twitter/X account...and that will be the next place I alert people to this disgrace of a "tour."Written October 11, 2024
- rpP551UD0 contributionsPoorAfter communicating with the guide that we will be late, the guide/driver didn't wait. Think we were late by 5 minutes at the most. It's terrible for International travelers sometimes to be on time as we are dependent on the rides and the distance to the meeting point. We paid ($182) for the trip. Also, we pleaded with the local team(Go2Lisbon - Tours) to rebook us for a different date with some discount (although it was not even our fault for being late) and they refused. It is simple courtesy to speak politely and respond in a cordial manner. I will rate them Zero, if I can.Written October 8, 2024
- valdaross0 contributionsBirthday trip to Portugal. My company of 3 took this tour on Wednesday September 4th with the Grayline group. Our tour guide was Rosa and our driver was Samuel. The minute we go in the bus they were both very courteous n very pleasant and approachable. With 40 people on this tour, it went amazingly well.Written September 12, 2024

- F9438WNangelah0 contributionsPerfect Day at Sintra & CascaisSintra and We were a large family group ranging from ages 8 to 88. Our guides Andre and Ruben were PERFECT. They tailored their guiding to keep everyone entertained and laughing. On the road they played a mix of Portuguese music o of different eras. At the seaside town of Cascais we had free time to stroll the quaint streets, with some exploring the fort while others sat at a cafe to take in the view. Our lunch stop at a traditional village restaurant was a true gem, the best meal we had in Portugal!! At the castle is where our guides truly shined. They pointed out small details we would never have noticed on our own, and gave us the perfect balance of historical information and time to explore on our own. We even overheard a couple saying they wish they had booked guides like ours!! Thank you Andre and Ruben for a perfect outing. 😍Written July 5, 2024

- DINA M0 contributionsAmazing TownsVisiting Fátima is a dream come true. I’ve watched the movie The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima when I was a kid and had been wondering when I could visit the place and finally I did. A must visit place for those believers of miracles and the faith. Batalha monastery - the historical pride of Portugal and architectural brilliance of this place is extraordinary and the facade breathtaking. I have not seen anything like it. Lunch in this town was amazing. Food was so good thanks to our guide who recommended the restaurant. Viewing from the top of the hill, Nazare is very picturesque wish it had been a sunny day but even in a cloudy day it’s still lovely. did not see the 100 feet wave 😊 though. Óbidos walled village is quite beautiful and full of history . Lots of unexpected amazing shops like the one that has a violinist playing. Lots of churches ( 7 I think as mentioned by the guide) inside this small walled village. The tour is worth the time if you have it.Written June 27, 2024
- mcheco0 contributionsFatima and more!Wonderful tour! The landmarks and beauty are amazing. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history and provided very thorough overview. Lots of waking on cobblestone streets. Strongly suggest comfortable shoes.Written June 16, 2024
- Samantha S0 contributionsHighly Recommend. Excellent value and beautiful memories made!I booked this tour for my last day in Portugal and wow- what a beautiful way to spend my final hours! Shortly after I booked a full day tour of Sintra, Cascais etc, I emailed the company with questions about where would be the closest pick up location. Giuliana responded quickly and was very helpful with confirming the closest pickup location as well as the easiest to get there by train ( she even including a pic of the metra lines with the relevant stops highlighted!). I arrived at the location a little early and my guide (Ruben) arrived with a warm, friendly smile to pick me up. It appealed to me that the tour was a small group. We rode in a comfortable mini van and Ruben navigated those winding roads with ease and precision. He is very knowledgeable about the history of Pina Palace and the other places we stopped at . The views were breathtaking throughout the entire day. We were fortunate in that we had a really great group of people. Everyone was happy and excited to experience the tour. I loved everything about this tour from beginning to end. We got to spend time on our own walking through the downtown of sintra as well as the beach side town of Cascais where we stopped and had lunch. The entire day was about 8 hours and was excellent value. Samantha S.Written June 16, 2024
- drswatipai0 contributions4 places in one day..perfectly packed. We were in Lisbon for 4 nights and 5 days and wanted to make the best of it. This tour was just right to see all 4 places comfortably. In a group of 7 + our really nice driver cum guide John ( the portugese version of the spelling) except the 2 of us rest were portugese speaking. But he explained it all to us in English as well. All 4 places are a must do..have your lunch at Obidos..yes it will be a late lunch but totally worth itWritten June 8, 2024
- Maria D0 contributionsLovely trip through Portugal packed with beautiful stops and viewsWe were met promptly by our guide, Antonio, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Our tour was bilingual with English and Portuguese which we didn’t mind because we were able to practice Portuguese. The first stop at Fatima was wonderful. The experience is moving and beautiful to see. There are those who return to Fatima in gratitude for their prayers being answered and they walk up to the sacred site on their knees. You have to budget your time to see the most because it is not a long stop. The Monastery at Batalha is an impressive Gothic masterpiece. Then Nazaré is a beautiful beach town with a beach vibe. We had lunch at the food trucks, and it was a very nice quick lunch. If you want to see the church and also the surfing stop budget your time and take the tuk tuk. When we first got there the sun was beautiful but then a dense fog rolled in, so we opted out of seeing the area with the highest waves (we were out of time anyway). Lastly was the Obidos medieval village. It is beautiful and colorful. If you book this tour, keep in mind it is a full day of driving and making stops. The van is adequate in comfort. We didn’t mind because we were able to see more of Portugal, and see more towns. The stops are not long so it is a sampler. If you have time, you can always go back to your favorite spot. Overall I highly recommend it!Written June 3, 2024

Dear KLOE24,
First of all thank you for your comment, it always helps us to improove the quality of the service. We apologize for the guide being late for encounter, but he came only five minutes later, and not 20, becuse of difficults to access the appartment you were in - meeting point (anyway we will reconsider it).
What about restaurant:
1) It´s the best one fado restaurant in Lisbon, but sometimes occure that mass opinion is not the same as we have. Could it ba a reason of disgust towards the restaurant.
2) As much as we´d like, we can´t take responsibility for the quality of food. Maybe you didn´t like it for being tipical portuguese and not the food you used to it.
3) As a rule, fado show is always accompanied by noize, specially in the sities like restaurants. It didn´t s suppose to be chamber event for restrict number of people.
Also, the present tour serves to become in contact with portuguese culture and doesn´t suppose a romantic atmosphere.
Yours respectfully,
Go2Lisbon

First of all, thank you for your comment, it always helps us to improve the quality of the service. We are favored to the criticism, but any criticism should be objective and constructive.
Regarding the price: you booked the tour through an intermediary, not with us directly, so we can't control the price that was provided on the platform where you made the reservation.
Regarding the restaurant:
1) It´s the best typical Portuguese restaurant in Lisbon with excellent fado show and the "show" means that performance includes not only songs but national dance too, which makes this experience unique.
2) As much as we´d like, we can´t take responsibility for the quality of food. Maybe you didn´t like it due to being a typical Portuguese food and not the food you used to it.
Also, leaving your review as for private tour, you are blatantly misleading, because you booked a group tour and you should have expected that tour guide will pay his attention not for your group only, but to other participants of the group too.
We believe that if you need all guides attention only to your person, is the best thing for you to take a private tour. In any case, my deepest apologies for the bad experience. Your review made us all reflect on what we need to improve.
Thank you once again for your review.
Yours respectfully,
