About
Combine a historical tram ride with the experience of listening to fado! Explore the hills, the narrow streets and the typical neighborhoods of Lisbon on a historical tram with a show of Fado in Chiado. The different voices and the unmistakable sound of the Portuguese guitar are the main theme of this unforgettable experience! The old quarters where Lisbon began has a lot to discover from its history of different people and cultures to archaeological finds and secular buildings. Fado is said to have been born here and its essence is still found in many fado houses where you can listen as you have a good traditional meal.

Don’t even consider it
For €20 you buy a hop on hop off ticket. The name is misleading though, as the time between trams arriving being at least one hour, and sometimes even 1.5 hours. After having waited for 45 minutes to get back on the tram the driver told us that the tram was full (this is the only tram in the city where standing is not allowed) and we should wait another hour for the next. With of course a great chance that the next would also be full.

Avoid at all cost, this tour is bordering on a scam.

great experience
Jan 2020
My wife and I were on a short holiday with 6 friends and wanted to tour part of Lisbon with going on a bus or tuk-tuk. e bought tickets in town at the Yellow Bus tour kiosks (there are plenty around)The Hills tram ride is worth it and a great way to see part of the city ( we didn't see the Fado show as it wasn't available),however if you wish to listen to Fado there are many bars to accommodate that. We stopped half way at the palace of St George for a very pleasant hour and boarded the next (red) Hills tram for the remainder of the journey. A little tip, hang on to your tickets as they are valid for the whole day you bought them and also for the Funicular trams/railways. ( Approx 20€pp)

Fun tour in the hills of Lisboa
Good tour for an overall view of Lisboa. There is an audioguide in the tram, they give ear buds. The information was interesting. There is only one stop at the top close to S. Jorge castle, the view was breathtaking and there were coffeshops. The overall tour lasts about 1h30 and cost 20 euros. A bit expensive.

Absolutely woeful
Jul 2019 • Family
Bought tickets online - queued at stop 2 - supposed to be hop on hop off. 5 trams passed without picking up. Walked to castle and tried to pick up tram at stop 4. Space on tram but driver said ticket was a voucher and needed to be converted. Walked back to stop 1 and sales office claimed we were wrong and all trams should have been able to read the ticket - every one of the staff said different things - absolute disaster - but at least we got a good walk - would advise against wasting your money on this.

Do not buy at the airport
Jun 2019 • Family
We arrived to Lisbon with a 7-hour layover. I purchased the bus tour at the airport kiosk. When we arrived to the meeting spot in Plaza Rossio, we were told the bus was not running due to a parade, but the only way to get the money back was at the airport. We went back to the airport and were told we should have gone to town center kiosk, but our layover was almost over. We explained that at city center we were told to return to the airport kiosk. Since the man who sold us the tickets had ended his shift, we could not get our money back. We were told to email. Three emails later, we still are not getting our 40€ back. They only took cash, so we have no recourse. DON’T BUY AT THE AIRPORT. MAKE SURE THE BUS YOU BUY IS ACTUALLY THERE!!

Just what we wanted to see
May 2019 • Couples
This tram tour through Lisbon went past all of the sights that we wanted to see. The audio tour was informative. You can hop on and off, but we chose not to. The length of the tour was just right.

Waste of time
Aug 2018 • Couples
Tried to get on this three times it was always broken or not running, just as easy to see everything by foot and a lot cheaper. I have done many hop on hop off tours throughout Europe I find this one Tobe the worst, I fit was the tram not working it was the sound system . Big waste of money never again on the yellow bus. You should take a lesson from the big bus .

Organized chaos
Aug 2018 • Family
Arrived in Praca do Comercio square with the view of doing a tour. Came across this stop with one or two representatives in yellow tops selling the tram tour. We went along with it and bought a family ticket which was €50 as one of our kids were free.
We were told Trams come every 20 mins and you get free on the Funicular etc.(..which doesn’t stop outside it by the way , so you have to out of your way to go to it. )
Anyhow...that’s not my problem...after purchasing tickets we were waiting in the blazing heat with 2 trams parked in front of us with drivers getting on and off and on again etc....nobody knew WHAT was going on!!! They wouldn’t let people on to sit even if they weren’t moving. Then, there were people joining the queue from all angles and no organization whatsoever!!! The staff floating around.
You can buy tickets on the tram....so even though there were people selling tickets, others waited till they got on the tram and thus held people up longer to buy tickets then. It was just so unorganized.
What they don’t tell you is that you are also using the same tram lines as the public transport....so at few stages we were sitting in a line of about 4 trams, waiting for them to fill up etc......it was one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever been on. The transport system in general certainly does not live up to other European cities.
Personally I would get the open top bus instead...more stops and the buses can skip parked traffic etc....
Wouldn’t use again.....unorganized!!!
