My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Lucillia got everyone involved with a job and was there to provide guidance along the way. We prepared a wonderful feast of 6 different dishes including cod, chicken and beef. The chef accommodated a traveller with a gluten free diet on the fly! We had so much fun with the people participating in the class. It was a delicious meal that we were happy to share with our leader Lucillia and new friends. With so many dishes and components, the steps were all happening simultaneously, so you didn't really get the full picture of how everything was prepared. But I'm sure the recipes will give the necessary explanation. It was the best way to spend an evening in Lisbon!

If you are looking for a different experience opposed to the usual strolling around the city and viewing monuments/museums, this is the one! Filipe is an amazing host and instructor, who shown a lot of flexibility, knowledge about the matter and most importantly made the cooking class interesting and fun. We did not only learn how to prepare different Portuguese dishes, we also learnt about the cooking history, the use of different spices as well as different techniques that can be used to improve our cooking. Definitely a few hours well spent and would recommend it to everyone!

A highlight of our trip to Lisbon was our cooking lesson at Cooking Lisbon. Our instructor, Ana, was very knowledgeable and explained everything very clearly. She was kind and spent time with us discussing Portuguese cuisine and culture. We really appreciated the opportunity to talk with her – she answered all our questions and gave us the local perspective. She was very professional, and we were so glad to have the experience with her. The food and wine were delicious and we look forward to trying the recipes on our own here at home.

We received an email the day before our booking indicating that as a result of an error in the booking they no longer had capacity to accommodate us, and they were canceling our reservation. We were offered an alternative date which was after our departure from Lisbon. A full refund was provided. Very disappointing experience...

I thought this class was super fun, got to meet some great people! Unfortunately, our group was quite large (I believe 16 people in total), so we broke off into groups and only learned how to make one dish. A lot of the time was left for socializing, and we didn't spend a lot of time learning about Portuguese cooking. I also haven't received the recipes yet. :(

All in all, a good class, but it left somethings to be desired.

Lucilia and Fernanda were the best! This was so much fun and so enjoyable. I hesitated on going as I was traveling alone but they made everyone feel included. Just one of the best parts of my trip to Lisbon. Fun, fun, fun! Thank you both!

Sincerely, Dana

Wonderful experience with the folks at the school. Friendly, informative demonstrations, and a wonderful balance of freedom to work on our own and stepping in to help. The food we prepped tasted delish in the end and it was comforting knowing that we could possibly make this on our own. Highly recommend.

We booked the Pastry Class and learned to bake Pasteis de Nata. The atmosphere was great, really friendly people and had a lot of fun! The kitchen is also top of the line. We also got tons of recipes to try at home. Can't be more happier with the experience :)

We really enjoyed our evening. The chef was fantastic, and taught us a lot about the history of Portuguese cooking as well as learning new recipes. She was very friendly and welcomed us like it was her own home.
The evening is well organised. We had a short break from cooking mid evening during which we enjoyed a variety of snacks and wine. Not long after this our meal was prepared and we sat to enjoy a Portuguese soup, bacalhua and a traditional meringue dessert. First thing the next day we received an email with a copy of the recipes for these and other traditional meals.
We had a fantastic evening and highly recommend this cook school.

We were very disappointed in the whole experience. We have traveled to many places around the world and we always enjoy doing a cooking class to learn more about the culture and local markets. When we showed up, the instructor let us know that it would just be us two. We are used to cooking with a larger group and enjoy meeting new people. He did not have much experience, but he tried hard. The space was nice and clean, but the owners were nowhere to be found. The passion was just not there. Looking around their kitchen they had a lot of "commercial" products instead of local products. An example would be a fancy showing of one of the largest olive oil producers in Portugal. Also, huge tubs of olives stored away that were not fresh. It would have been cool to see some local smaller batch stuff. My wife is a vegan which I mentioned before signing up for the class. The guy did not even really know what a vegan is. He said that being a vegan is not really a thing in Portugal, which we kindly disagreed with. We had some of the best vegan meals of our lives in Portugal. The market was just ok. We did not really buy much there, and found a better market across the street from our hotel on our own. He also spent a lot of time explaining things about the fish and meat which was not appealing to my vegan wife. Once we got back, the cooking began. We did not cook much, and much of the meal was not really traditional Portuguese food. We had more Portuguese dishes in the vegan restaurants we ate at. The octopus was cooked wrong and burnt. After a few hours of cooking, we sat down for the meal which was probably the worst one we had throughout our ten days in Portugal. We could not get out of there fast enough. It is a day that we will never get back again in Lisbon. The people try and are nice, but do not waste your time if you are used to doing amazing cooking classes in amazing places.

Hi Gino, Thanks for the review on TripAdvisor. It is always a pleasure to receive opposite reviews of what we are used along our five years of activity.
Has mentioned on our website since our first day, our brand and passion goes into Portuguese traditional gastronomy which is not vegetarian friendly (in bold on the booking page and all classes related with food) and vegan as traditional option, it will be impossible.
Our bookings depends how people travel, the time we they stay in Lisbon, what they like to make and we respect that, providing 5 types of classes along the week, 7 days per week, 2 classes per day (sorry not to be in your class, but has you will understand, its impossible to be in all classes since we are open 15 hours per day). Customers choose their favorite day according their schedule in vacations.
Lisbon has 13 local markets in the city, that is a good point of the Portuguese gastronomy and we don't have any doubt that you can easily find spots focus on vegan food (not Portuguese traditional gastronomy).
We are proud to offer a tailor made class in your case, since we could make a menu specific for your wife and other for you. Related to products, we would love to clarify you the logistic of olives and lupine beans. They are transported in jars worldwide to be preserved, similar to the wines or red bell pepper paste. On any Portuguese market they have been taking out of the jar to be in exhibition. Along the market and the cooking class Tomas shared information of local fish from our shore, meat and other products from Portugal.
We are sorry that our efforts didn't get your expectations in know more about our country, the Portuguese, Portuguese traditional gastronomy, our identity has a country of 900 years which you choose to travel. We are always learning, thats the beauty and curiosity of our chef in making questions to provide you the best options that respect your preference, even its not Portuguese traditional gastronomy. We keep learning and we learn from it and we are happy to know that you enjoy our wonderfull country. All the best,
