      Fantastic evening
Had an amazing cooking class, our chef was amazing, the nibbles and wine were a lovely touch. Learnt a lot about Portuguese food and culture. We were lucky that everyone in our group was so nice, had an unforgettable evening of delicious food and laughs.

      The best cooking class!
We have done cooking classes in several countries, and this was the best we’ve had. We got lucky because we signed up for a group class, but apparently no one else did, so we (a family with two adult children) ended up having a private class. We loved the market tour at the start - we always try to sign up for a tour that includes the market because it’s fun to see how local people shop. The kitchen was spacious and bright and nicely air conditioned, and the instructions were clear and very organized. My son and I loved filleting the fish! We made gazpacho, fried little mackerels, steamed mussels, sea bream with vegetables, and an orange roll. Everything was very tasty. Our instructor, Pedro, was friendly and told us a lot about Portuguese food. We highly recommend this class.

      Delightful and delicious!
We have long loved pasteis de nata and were thrilled to have an opportunity to learn to make them. Filippa was a welcoming and personable teacher. She gave us very clear instructions and support. The end result was an overflowing plate of tasty treats. She sent home with us as many as we could take.

If you love to cook, DO THIS!!
Absolutely wonderful! Everyone participated and I also learned much by watching. Chef was so amazing; no formal training. Just learned from OTJ training and from his grandmother. SO glad I opted for this adventure!!

A must do when visiting Lisbon! Great way to spend a day immersed in Lisbon cuisine, wine, friends, family even solo!
A must do for Lisbon! Highly recommend for solo, couples, teen families and friends. Literally all were represented in our small group. The recipes are fun and thoroughly engaging (you will learn how to bone a fish yourself) The local market tour was both impressive and quaint. No cooking experience is needed but you will leave feeling like a pro. Fun day ending with a delicious family style multi course meal. My only criticism was the time spent at the market should and could be shortened to 45 min. Also it was a bit awkward doing the bread and cheese tasting at the entrance when there was ample unused seating area behind the pork tasting section.

      Exceptional Fun!
This class was phenomenal! The chef (Pedro) provided the perfect amount of instruction and was always available to help. The participants, as usual, were fun, friendly, easy-going people looking to mingle and chat with ease with fellow travelers. The food was incredible! Such a variety and all so delicious! The dinner table, food selection, wine, and company was all first-rate! I highly recommend this class if you are looking for a fun evening in Lisbon!

      Exceptional Fun!
This class was awesome! The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere laid back and fun. The chef (Pedro) was wonderful at giving instructions and being available to help but in a non-intrusive way. As usual, the participants were fun, friendly, easy-going people who mingled and chatted with ease. The final dinner complete with Portuguese wine was simply incredible! Definitely highly recommend!

      Review of Cooking Lisbon class
This was a fantastic experience for my wife and me. The facilitator, Filipa did a great job showing us the market and was very patient and knowledgeable in showing us how to prepare the ingredients for a meal. The tour was supposed to last 4 hours but actually last 5 and a half hours and we enjoyed EVERY minute of it!

      Fun evening in Lisbon
We had a nice group of people. The chef started the class with Portuguese wine, cheese and meat. We didn't make a 3 course meal, but rather Portuguese tapas. It was all delicious!!

      A MUST for foodies!
This tour was an incredible way to experience a part of the Portuguese culture. We started out by going to the local market for fish and vegetables. This was unlike any market I’ve ever seen with the variety and quality of foods. We then went back to the Cooking Lisbon location, where we were greeted with a wonderful spread of breads, cheeses, olives and spreads, as well as wine local to the region, for as we were told…” you should never cook on an empty stomach “. We then went on to prepare 5 dishes which everyone was able to participate in. Everything was very relaxed and of the highest quality. One of my best experiences anywhere!

Pasteis de Nata - an insight into one of the worlds great gastronomic delights
My wife and I had the pleasure of being part of a group from Cunard's new ship Queen Anne, that visited Cooking Lisbon last week to learn how to make Pasteis de Nata, Portuguese Cream Tarts. Felipe could not have been more generous with his time or thorough in showing us how this fantastic tart is made, using his Grandmother's recipe. We had a truly amazing day and everyone was super impressed with the quality class. A trip to Lisbon is not complete without a visit and we would thoroughly recommend it. Many thanks to Felipe and all at Cooking Lisbon.

      Not my favorite.
One of my least favorite cooking classes. I guess if you've never been to one it was probably ok, but I've done several in 3 countries. The market tour was bland in a very small local market. The food we cooked was bland as well. The chef was personable and fun to be around, but probably just following the script. The low price tag should have been a clue.

      Savory, Simple, Scrumptious
Such a wonderful and enriching time was spent with Fillipa, our instructor today. Class began promptly, so off we went to the market to visit various vendors. The bread baker offered the history and culture of bread baking in Portugal that enriched the experience of eating bread all the more. We trekked backed to the kitchen where we learned simple, but tasty Lisboan recipes that can easily be encorporated into daily menus back home. But most importantly, the students assembled shared their views and stories that completed the rich beauty of the day.

      Wonderful Class & Tour
This was an amazing experience! Chef Marco & Chef Fernanda were incredibly helpful, fun, informative and created an educational and relaxing atmosphere. The food was great and we appreciate being able to have the recipes. The market tour was also fun and was great to see all of the different fish and produce available. My wife and I would take this class again (whenever we make it back to Lisbon)!

I thought this class was super fun, got to meet some great people! Unfortunately, our group was quite large (I believe 16 people in total), so we broke off into groups and only learned how to make one dish. A lot of the time was left for socializing, and we didn't spend a lot of time learning about Portuguese cooking. I also haven't received the recipes yet. :(

All in all, a good class, but it left somethings to be desired.

We received an email the day before our booking indicating that as a result of an error in the booking they no longer had capacity to accommodate us, and they were canceling our reservation. We were offered an alternative date which was after our departure from Lisbon. A full refund was provided. Very disappointing experience...

We enjoyed this experience and the food was delicious. However, we would suggest focusing on 1 or 2, at most 3 dishes so that the group can learn how to make the dishes. The group was stationed doing certain tasks for 5 or 6 dishes and we didn't feel like we learned how to make any particular dish. That being said, our instructor did a great job of balancing everything and making sure the meal turned out nice. We did enjoy the food, the wine and the snacks pre cooking.

Paulo and his crew were great hosts and instructors for the evening. They created a lively and fun learning environment for the dishes we prepared. The process was very engaging and interactive and the meal we created collectively was fantastic! Would highly recommend this class if you’re a foodie or someone who is passionate about cooking.

Lucilia and Fernanda were the best! This was so much fun and so enjoyable. I hesitated on going as I was traveling alone but they made everyone feel included. Just one of the best parts of my trip to Lisbon. Fun, fun, fun! Thank you both!

    Sincerely, Dana

It was a great experience. Joana was very communicative, nice and immediately created a good atmosphere. Dishes were relatively easy to made and very tasty. And I really appreciated that later we had a family-style dinner, sip the wine and were able to sit, talk and have fun till late.
    Loved this <3

We really enjoyed our evening. The chef was fantastic, and taught us a lot about the history of Portuguese cooking as well as learning new recipes. She was very friendly and welcomed us like it was her own home.
The evening is well organised. We had a short break from cooking mid evening during which we enjoyed a variety of snacks and wine. Not long after this our meal was prepared and we sat to enjoy a Portuguese soup, bacalhua and a traditional meringue dessert. First thing the next day we received an email with a copy of the recipes for these and other traditional meals.
We had a fantastic evening and highly recommend this cook school.

We booked the Pastry Class and learned to bake Pasteis de Nata. The atmosphere was great, really friendly people and had a lot of fun! The kitchen is also top of the line. We also got tons of recipes to try at home. Can't be more happier with the experience :)

Wonderful experience with the folks at the school. Friendly, informative demonstrations, and a wonderful balance of freedom to work on our own and stepping in to help. The food we prepped tasted delish in the end and it was comforting knowing that we could possibly make this on our own. Highly recommend.
