We had a great tour with our guide Nuno. He showed up on time, picked us up at our hotel. Nuno was VERY knowledgeable. He gave us tons of information and interesting stories. He was very flexible with the tour. There was a long line for the Castle and he went out of his way to contact the office and get us tickets so we didn’t have to wait. The castle was not part of the tour but my son wanted to see the castle and Nuno made it happen. I highly recommend booking a tour with Nuno. You won’t be disappointed.

This tour was the highlight of our few days in Lisbon before departing on a cruise. We were able to customize an additional stop and add a couple hours onto a standard package and it enriched our overall exploration. Our guide was Joanna. She was prompt, engaging, spoke English well and very easy to spend the day with. She relayed historical information so it was understandable and presented herself as a true professional. I would highly recommend this organization and their private and small tours with an array of service oriented and enthusiastic guides!

We absolutely enjoyed this tour! Our driver/tour guide Gustavo was very good and knowledgeable. He was funny and engaging. He showed us points of interests on our way to Cascais. We had a stop at Estoril and heard about the inspiration for the James Bond movies. Cabo da Roca was beautiful. Our guide made some suggestions on where we can have lunch but it was completely up to us. We did not feel forced to go with the suggestions. We enjoyed our time in Sintra and the Pena Palace. I highly recommend this tour. Be prepared and wear good walking shoes. You will not be disappointed

We had 15.5 hours layover in Lisbon, so we decided to use our time wisely. We bought our tix online. The company responded to all our emailed questions super quickly! Our tour guide was Anna, and she did an excellent job of executing the wonders of Lisbon and was fun to be around1 The tickets to the Pena Palace were included with the price of the tour as well! We highly recommend this tour, and we will definitely consider on touring with this company again!

We arranged for two full day, private tours with Around Lisbon. Both were just what we'd hoped they'd be. This review will focus primarily on the day at Sintra, but note that the other tour was a full day at Evora.

First, I just wanted to praise Around Lisbon, especially Claudia, for excellent pre-trip communications. She always replied promptly and thoroughly. Each day, the guides showed up on time, in nice, clean, comfy vehicles which were equipped with wifi hot spots and cold bottles of water.

For Sintra, our guide was Filipe, who was great with us. My mom is not much of a walker, and has a tough time on hills, so Filipe was able to find creative ways to reduce the walking she had to do. He took us to the 4 spots we requested: Pena Palace, Sintra Palace (Village Palace), Quinta de Regaleira, and the cork convent. It's a lot for one day, but we managed to do them all. Though unfortunately for Filipe, it meant we didn't get back to Lisbon til almost 8pm. He never complained!

All four of our visits were quite interesting and unique in their own ways, glad we did them all in lieu of the usual stops at Cascais or other coastal spots. Since a few of the places are not part of the normal tours, Filipe had arranged for site specific tours by staff from both the Quinta Regaleira and Sintra Palace. That worked out really well.

The next day, Rita was our guide for a day at Evora. My mom was pretty tired from the very long Sintra day, so we opted to do a slightly shortened tour. We enjoyed walking through Evora, had a nice lunch at a place called The Bakery, then explored the Cromlech and cork forest. The wildflowers were in full bloom and simply gorgeous. Rita was great, though she was a bit new to this particular tour so relied a bit more on the GPS than I would have expected.

If you want to explore Lisbon and beyond, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Around Lisbon. Book in advance, though!

First things first - wear good shoes/trainers for walking (wouldn't recommend sandals!)
Our trip was booked via Expedia just 2 days in advance and we managed to get the last 2 spaces of an 8-person tour. Our guide Rita met us outside our Hotel at 9am as advertised, and we headed towards Cascais (lots of good commentary and history from Rita along the way). Cascais is a lovely fishing port (city) with beautiful beaches and pretty boutiques and streets. The Citadel Art District itself is lovely to just wander around. Next stop Cabo da Roca - good pics of the rugged coastline, lighthouse, and monument, following which we went to Sintra City for lunch (go further up the steep hill to Tascantiga for delicious Portuguese tapas in a rustic setting). Traffic up to the Palace was extremely busy however Rita knew the best spots for parking! From the main entrance its a good 15min walk up the garden paths (steep steps), however, there's a bus available for those with mobility challenges (with long queue). Some spectacular views from the Palace to Sintra and the Moorish Castle. The £49 each we paid covered the 14Euro entrance into the Palace, so overall this trip was really good value for a full day out and for visiting places we would not have otherwise seen. Rita was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and looked after us well (inc a passenger with knee pain). Our schedule would have had us returning to Lisbon from 16.15 however with the traffic delays etc Rita kindly gave us more time at the Palace and we were back in Central Lisbon by 18.00. Great day out - highly recommended, and thank you to Rita for making it all the more enjoyable!

In our family trip (adults only), we stayed in Alfama-Lisbon. Our driver-guide guy Paulo was on time for our pickup. he was very friendly, got us engage in our early morning by giving us feedback of lisbon city and what to expect. We headed to our first stop and decided to make it quick since we wanted to have plenty of time in Sintra. Best decision made! Sintra is an enchanting place, Pena Palace is a must visit place, Quinta da Regaleira dont miss on that! We had lunch in a cafe bistro inside Sintra and walked around in the small town (paulo gave us a few recommendations of where to have lunch and DESSERT!). We headed to Cascais, passed by Cabo da Roca and Estoril. Paulo was a great help at all times and reachable by phone, he gave himself a plus when we wanted in our way back to visit Belem and he dropped us there! Great guy.

Our private group/family tour was excellent from start to finish. Communication and planning with Gil and execution of the tour by our driver/guide Phillip all exceeded expectations. Special needs of group members and changing circumstances on the day of the tour were dealt with in the most pleasant and professional manner. Apart from the safe and secure driving Phillip provided us with loads of interesting cultural and historical facts and fun options and suggestions throughout the day. Entire family from toddler to 70+ year had a wonderful experience getting to know Sintra and Cascais this way and we would highly recommend this company in the future.

We were a group of 11 people. We had Mike and Phillipe as our guides. Both spoke fluent English and had great knowledge about the places we visited. Did not dwell too much on history so that kids don't get bored. But told wonderful stories to engage the kids so that kids enjoyed their day. Also were open to answering questions about Lisbon and Portugese cultures and cuisines. They helped in locating and took a small de-tour to McDonalds for the kids. Told us about best pastry and cakes shops around the place. Had a wonderful experience at Cascais and Sintra.
