About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Dee W0 contributionsDont do Grayline for Lisbon city.Poorly organised. Poor information. No service. No acceptance of responsibilty to customers. My headphone plug in didnt work. Bus stops poorly marked. The English commentary was condescending. Go with the other red bus group..more buses regularly.Written September 15, 2024
- yano4740 contributionsInteresting tour without guidance & informationThe places visited are good but the tour guide was very average. She merely dropped us off at the tour site without following us and giving us much information. It is just like a public transportation.Written September 14, 2024
- victordA4644RO0 contributionsGreat experience! Our historic Douro wine tour was a great experience , for my wife and I. It was a full day but worth it in the Douro Valley with lunch included. The Grayline agents Romeu and Salvador recommend it and they were right thanks guys for doing a great job for tourists coming into Porto.Written September 13, 2024
- hadarh6010 contributionsBasic tour - don't expect and you won't get disappointedOk-ish tour and nothing more. This tour is basically auto-tour, you won't get really in depth information from the guide. 99% of the things she mentioned were written on Wikipedia almost word by word. I signed an English tour, but it seemed to be a multi - language tour. The guide did the tour in 4 languages, which is amazing to her but exhausting to the rest of the people. I also speak more than just English so I could also understand the things she explained in Spanish and Portuguese.. the explanations were inconsistent in every language and sometimes the guide just dropped full parts (by accident I suppose). Anyway, the language thing was really annoying.Written September 11, 2024
- mikedQ4482WL0 contributionsSintra!Pick up arranged by the Corinthia Hotel Lisbon but the Gray Line service dropped us back to the hotel (no taxi ride)! Sintra was beautiful, the visit to the Atlantic Ocean was incredible and the Estoril Coast was spectacular! Our guide was professional, knowledgeable and friendly!Written September 5, 2024
- Gerald S0 contributionsDon't go!Crowded bis with poor air conditioning. Our bilingual guide was limited in what she knew, and mumbled when speaking, so we couldn't tell the Spanish from the English. The lunch was mediocre, we could have done better picking our own restaurant. Sintra castle was crowded, I felt like a hamster being herded through a maze. To be dropped at our hotel after the tour, we spent an additional hour on the bus. Overall, the worst touristic experience in 60 years of travel.Written August 27, 2024
- Hawaiiantraveler660 contributionsWas fine. Service provided was goodThe pick up at our hotel was very convenient and our driver was friendly. The ride was uneventful which was nice. Fatima was meh, shocked at the commercialism surrounding the site but read my review on that listing. The only (not really an issue) I had was trying to pay attention to while the guide was talking in the bus. Way too many languages. I speak fluent Parisian French and English. Couldn’t follow the speeches trying to figure out when French or English was going to start.Written August 26, 2024
- Adventurer7642010 contributionsHistorical monuments and sites in Lisbon! Our grayline cityrama tour was exceptional! Many historical and cultural sites and our guide was extremely knowledgeable and provided the tour in at least 4 languages. She was excellent!Written August 25, 2024
- D5629UPemmaf0 contributionsCompletely unhelpfulWe bought tickets for all the family for the red line in Lisbon, we stopped at the second stop of the track meaning to get the bus at the same spot. We reached the stop, and found the bus there, we asked the staff if we could get in but we were told to wait ten minutes and then we could have. While waiting, another bus of the same company passed through, honking but didn’t stop and continued its way to other stops. So we asked again the staff when the bus would be leaving and the answer was: this bus is only meant to sell tickets you have to wait for another one and wasn’t able to inform us on the time of the arrival of the next bus, mind you they didn’t even notice the first bus stopping buy and honking. We had to wait for more than half an hour in total and wasted lots of time, all under august heat. The only solution they were able to provide us was to walk all the way back to the starting point of the tour and ask for a refund.Written August 24, 2024
- B5591QSbiancal0 contributionsBus hop on hop offJulia was very patient and helpful answering all of our questions, offering us a variety of options and discounts. In terms of experience regarding the staff, she was wonderful. In terms of the bus experience (hop on hop off) it was nice but perhaps too hot in the upper deck. Everyone seemed a bit disappointed by that but in the future it could use some shade, overall, it was a good tour throughout the city.Written August 22, 2024
- 751barryb0 contributionsVery Bad TourDo NOT take this tour!! We did the Red (Belem/Lisboa) tour. We have done many hop on hop off tours in other cities and enjoyed them…this was awful, a complete waste of time! With the rich history of both Lisbon and Portugal, there is plenty to talk about. There was really no significant information about the history of the city or Portugal. However the audio consisted largely of bad elevator music as we drove by apartment houses. When we did go by an actual point of interest almost no information was given other than the name of the POI and perhaps the year it was built. As an example, we came past a point on the river where it was stated many of the famous Portuguese explorers departed from….wow, very interesting tell me more…which ones? Maybe some information about some of those explorers? Maybe an interesting anecdote from their adventures….NO! Nothing more! The only thing worse than one of these Lisbon tours is 2! (ie do not get the 2 tour “deal” !!)Written August 18, 2024
- patkenntex0 contributionsA fun day trip to another countryThis was a great trip with a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. Lunch in Santiago was first class. Visit to Valença on return journey was fun.Written August 17, 2024
- 715sportsfan0 contributionsIf you want to learn about Lisbon this is a complete waste of money .Terrible tour . No information about the stops or what you could see at them. No commentary as we passed statues and palaces etc. Next to no commentary at all , just lots of music playing in the earphones and the only comments there were could have be been written by an 8 yr old . ‘ museums are a great way to learn new things’ - what museum ??? would not recommend. Learnt nothing about Lisbon. Really disappointed.Written July 24, 2024
- Roving230730732390 contributionsa rather boring tripNot recommended for families with young kids. Although Evora is a nice quite old city, but highly recommend Coimbra (2 hrs by train) over it if you need a day trip out from Lisbon. The purple wines are not my cup of tea.Written July 24, 2024
- cyrushfernandes0 contributionsFull day trip PortoTour guide arrived 30 minutes late .. bad start The tour covers a lot of Porto and if you have 2 days it’s worth doing . Best aspect of the trip was the knowledge of the guide and the boat trip . Lunch included made the trip economical.Written July 18, 2024

The sanctuary was stunning. Regarding the tour operator , we have left from Lisbon 30mins late so we had 30mins less in Fátima . The bus had issues with the air conditioning, so the return was hard as the temperature was 30 degrees.

How many total hours for this day trip, including bus trip to and from Fatima?
Written August 12, 2019
We stayed at the Corinthia Hotel in Lisbon and were referred by staff to use the bus service from the main Lisbon bus station which was a short walk from our hotel. These are very comfortable, first class coaches. Nothing like a Greyhound bus.
We went over a day or two before to buy our tickets. They do not take credit cards so be prepared to pay cash. It was a little less than 2 hours each way by nonstop coach. We spent about 2-3 hours in Fatima and returned that afternoon to Lisbon.
If you have a rental car it would be relatively the same actual drive time but this made for a relaxed trip with no worries of directions, etc. enjoy ! dmj
