Best tour yet, thank you Vasco!
A beautiful day, getting out of Lisbon, to some small towns with fantastic Portuguese wines. Our first stop was to a large, international winery, where we saw some of the areas where the wine was aged, and the processes in creating the unique (and delicious) taste. Our second stop was to a local vineyard, where the wine produced was only sold at their own shop, much to the world's dismay. The wine was excellent and we got to sit outside and see the countryside. Our final stop was to a processor vintner, where smaller grape growers combine harvests. We were led to a subterranean vault where the wine was aged in the casks, and observed how the barrels were tapped and moved as necessary. We were fed from a beautiful plate of chorizo, breads, cheese, butter, and jams of local origin that were very tasty, and we had several tastings of whites, reds, and dessert wines. Our guide, Vasco, although one of the youngest guides with his company, was the best that we have had in Lisbon. We spoke about the city as we were leaving, and what made each stop special, aside from the wineries. We stopped at a Roman/Gothic church and monastery with magnificent views of the river and countryside

      Highly recommend this tour
My wife and I had an incredible time and highly recommend this tour. Rodrigo, our guide, did a great job explaining the various wines and the region. He was funny, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a good time.

      Unique and Personalized Experience
We had the pleasure of Ricardo as our guide. He created a personal and unique experience for us that included wine tastings geared to our tastes and lunch of a fabulous meal in a small, authentic Portuguese family owned restaurant. This was by far the best tour experience we had in Portugal.

      Fun wine tour!
Joaon was our guide and he was fantastic. He felt very comfortable with him. We did the three wine stops and tastings. He heard that we like tiles so he made a stop off the tour at a tile manufacturer which we really liked. A definite pro of a private tour and a flexible guide. Would highly recommend.

      A magical Experience
An amazing and enjoyable day being taken to 3 wineries and a local restaurant. Our guide Paulo soon discovered we were visiting from Scotland and enjoying Portugal for the first time focused the whole day ensuring that we experienced not only wonderful wine, but also introducing us to authentic local cuisine at its best. Not only did Paulo provide historical and cultural commentary, but, offered great insights in to the various wines we tasted. Paulo was a true gentleman who made sure the day was really enjoyable.

      It’s up to you.
This was one of our favorite activities during our stay in Lisbon. It is a private tour, so we had flexibility with what we did without having to consider what a group would have wanted to do. The tour is designed to visit 3 wineries, but we were given the option to visit only 2 and replace the 3rd with a traditional Portuguese lunch in a neighboring village. My advice, take that option. The lunch ended up being one of our favorite meals of our entire vacation. This was a small, family-owned restaurant where everything was FRESH and Mama did the cooking! Our guide Vasco was great! The wine was great! The meal was spectacular! Spend the money and take this tour - you won’t regret it!

      Wine tasting in Setubal
Our guide Rodrigo really went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. He picked us up at our hotel (Memmo Alfama is a fantastic hotel in Lisbon if you’re looking for a place to stay) and drove us to Setubal, where we visited a couple of wineries for tours and tastings. Highly recommend Rodrigo! We learned a lot and had heaps of fun.

      Great into to Portuguese wine
First we have to acknowledge Ricardo, he was so sweet, knowledgeable and pleasure to be around. We visited two wineries and opted for lunch versus a third winery. We are so glad we did! Lunch was delicious, fresh and just amazing. Ricardo curated our tasting at the second winery/wine shop and everything was pleasing to our palate. We appreciate him accommodating our preferences (red vs white). I highly recommend this tour. There is definitely a sense of family/friendship between the tour operators, as we merged with other groups at the various stops. Everyone was so friendly and engaging. It’s our first full day in Lisbon and definitely a great start to our holiday.

Perfect guide for the Lisbon area.
We did a driving tour with Our guide Paulo Levy. He was such a pleasure to spend the day with. It was like having a relative here that showed us around for the day. If you are interested in the Jewish history of Portugal he is very interesting and knowledgeable for this as well. We really felt submerged into the local culture and went beyond just being standard tourists.

Now this ia the name of the game on the Ocean I guess, but if you are prone to motion sickness, dont go! we saw dolphins, but for the duration of this trip it was a short sighting. the staff were very friendly nothing to complain about there and the trip back along the coast was breathtaking. would I go again? No I would not.

Haha. You are right, motion sickness can be part of the tour. A rare happening, but it might happen... Regarding the "short sighting", as it´s explained in the tour description, we can only be near the dolphins for 30 minutes (by law). And this is a very good rule, because we are "invading" the dolphins territory. This allows us to be with them, but giving them their freedom. Also there is no guaranty that we will even see the dolphins. We can also not feed them, nobody can touch them, not swim with them and only three ships at any given time can be near them (for a maximum of 30 minutes). We hoped that travellers would actually appreciate that, as we are respecting nature as much as possible. For this reason we have the biggest resident dolphin family in Europe. See them, appreciate them, but leave them to their lives in nature. Sometimes it takes 30 minutes for us to find them; sometimes 2 hours... We don´t know... You go with nature. We obviously accept your feedback, but we are not able to change anything in our tour/program regarding the "time spend near the dolphins" issue. Warmest Regards and thank you anyway, Joao Dickmann
