Awesome food and history with Pedro!
The food and guidance from Pedro were amazing! Pedro was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Portugal. I wasn’t expecting to learn as much as I ate!

Good enough for a half day trip.
From Lisbon, we took an Uber. It's about a 40 minute drive. Getting to Sintra was quite easy and fast. You must buy the palace tickets prior to getting there. It's very convenient and time saving. Once there though, it's a winding uphill drive. It starts to get crowded with tourist buses, long lines, and hundreds of tourists waiting in line to get into the palace. In our case, even though the place is beautiful, it was like a "been there, done that" feeling. Maybe having a tour guide could've made things more interesting and engaging. We went on our own. All in all, from the top of the mountain we took a city bus to the city (cause taxis aren't allowed), and from there we Ubered to Cascais, nice little town by the water where we walked around and had some nice lunch. Then another Uber back to Lisbon.

    Great trip
We had a great trip with George who was very informative, even about non-trip related things. Pena palace was beautiful, and so were the other two stops.

Great mix of history, scenery, and shopping!
Inez was a fantastic guide who provided just the right amount of information during the tour, while giving time and space to explore independently. She was friendly, flexible, and impressively switch languages between English and Spanish (her native tongue is Portuguese). The tour itself is a great mix of history and scenery. I really wanted to visit the lighthouse in Nazaré but the road was closed. Inez allowed me to split from the rest of the group to explore the lighthouse independently and circled back to pick me up without disrupting the experience of others.

Walking tour of Lisbon. Loved our walking tour with Filipe. Pleasantly surprised with the elevators!
We were very pleased with our walking tour of Lisbon. Our tour guide, Filipe, was very knowledgeable of the history of Lisbon which peaked our interest in their culture. Filipe was very congenial and pleasant throughout the tour (as well as his assistant in training, Jon). We highly recommend this walking tour especially with Filipe!

Getting quickly to the heart and history of Lisbon!
We saw a lot, learned a lot but most importantly got a rich insight to what makes Lisbon tick. Totally absorbing - definitely coming back to Lisbon as a result. Our guide Guilherme made the experience so much richer. He's passionate about his city and the history of his country. The 'walking' trip went so quickly. Make the effort and you'll get your Lisbon bearings much quicker PS if you're not a hardcore walker don't be put off by the 3-4 hour trip - we cut out most of the hills with escalators !!

    Amazing tour
An amazing experience. Filipa was an amazing guide full of knowledge of Portugal, history and food. We couldn't believe the serving sizes and the heavy pours on alcohol. A great experience.

Good food, great drinks and new friends!
Best way to try different foods and wines in Lisbon. Our host Leslie was such a joy to walk us around and teach us about Lisbon. Such a great deal for all of the food and drinks that are included. We even stayed afterward with part of our group and continued with drinks because we were just having so much fun. Thanks so much for all the good food, wine and new friends we made!

Our guide Daniel met us at the meeting place promptly and told us what to expect for the tour. Since we have a slight mobility problem, we adjusted the walking tour. We went through the old Moorish part of the city and went up to a scenic spot that gave us a panoramic view. Daniel pointed out many points of interest and explained the historical significance. He introduced us to a very charming man who has opened a small tavern since 1974 and served us a wonderful sour cherry liquor, ginghua, and told us some stories regarding Sr. Antonio. We then continued our tour to the Alfama district and showed us the area where Fado was born in the early 1800s. He told us about the origin and some of the godfathers and divas of Fado. The music has a rich history rooted in the pain and passion of the people in Alfama, and Daniel expressed it in his narrative. We then proceeded to a small restaurant that serves typical Portuguese food and drinks and features performances by leading Fdo artists, including one of the co-owners. We were fortunate to be there on a night when the artist playing the Portuguese guitar who happened to be a godfather of Fado who had accompanied the "second Diva" of Fado. During the entire dinner and performances, Daniel discussed the pieces being performed and why he had the tour company allow him to select this restaurant, and Fado show over "touristy" spots. Daniel is truly a gem of a guide, and we highly recommend his Fado and Dinner walk excursion when in Lisbon.

We had a great sunset tour of Alfama area with Madalena - she was very informative, kind and patient. It was wonderful to know the history of the area better and learn and understand Fado. Would recommend this tour to those who want to know and understand Fado!

Madalene was out amazing tour guide for our walk to the dinner with a fado performance. Well Madalene was so knowledgeable of the history of Fado and so passionate to share all this with us it was just fantastic.

We were in a small group who were all interested to hear and learn about Fado. We had a great evening and I would recommend doing a walking tour. One of the highlights for me in Lisbon.

Thank you Madalene.

Interesting walk with lots of information about fado singers and at the end a delicious meal with a fado performance. Recommended. Daniël our guide was enthusiastic and knows a lot about the history of fado and Lisbon. This tour also provided us with extra information about activities for the following days. A great start to our holiday in Lisbon.
