Our base is located in Charneca, a village inserted in Sintra-Cascais Natural Park and very close to Guincho beach. - FROM LISBON TO CASCAIS TRAIN STATION Get to Cais do Sodré train (and metro) station and take the train that connects Lisbon to Cascais. Get off at Cascais Station (last stop). *Tip: Sit on the side of the train with ocean views. The approximate journey time is 40 minutes and the ticket price is 2.25 EUR. Trains Lisboa-Cascais and vice-versa run every 20-30min and from 5:30 am to 1:30 am every day of the week. - FROM CASCAIS TRAIN STATION TO CASCAIS ROUTES BASE Once at Cascais train station take and uber (around 6€) or a taxi to our base. Cascais bus station is just 2min walking from train station. You could also take a bus to get to our base (Bus company name: Scotturb. Buses nr 414 and 402, stop name: Charneca. Bus nr 403 is faster, ask bus driver where to stop).

- 1The total duration of the activity is around 2hr. We will meet at Cascais Routes Base for a little introduction before we start our adventure! ( If needed, we will drive you from the Base to the place where the hike starts). We will show you the nature of Cascais and Sintra with a relaxing stroll or a vigorous trot. We will head green majestic hills and hike through the unknown in search of the best kept secrets of Sintra forest or we will find small paths (some of them dating back to Roman times!) taking us along the blue coast and to the most beautiful and inspiring bays found on the coastal rim of the Park. **For the most adventurous kids and adults: You might be able to experience some scrambling over the granite boulders hidden in Sintra Forest!! Though routes will vary depending on weather and participants physical conditions, here is a list of places you might be able to admire: Guincho beach, Peninha, Pena Palace, Moorish Castle, Cabo da Roca (the most western point of Continental Europe), Ursa beach, Praia da Adraga and Praia Grande. - WHAT TO BRING: Water, sun protector, comfortable clothes and footwear, hat/cap. Don´t forget your camera, you will want to have it with you!:) If you are in Lisbon area you cannot miss visiting Cascais. To make the most out of your day you can combine the hiking experience with visiting the charming historical center of Cascais and swimming in its great beaches. We are locals and we will be very happy to share tips on where to go or eat with you. Cascais area is an outdoor lovers paradise! Duarte our guide made a great tour for us anyway. Not too challenging for a group of four relatively fit people, albeit older, and certainly not experienced mountain bikers. The route had a perfect mix of tough trails and beautiful views. The team was very professional. The coaches were skilled, friendly, and made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. The electric bikes were new and had the latest technology, making the ride smooth and fun. - 986amandad0 contributionsClimbing and surfing tripI did the rock climbing half day tour in Cascais and the half day surf trip in Praia do Guincho. The climbing portion was excellent, beautiful views and enough challenging routes to keep yourself busy. The surfing half day was fun as well, the currents were strong but João and Bernard made us feel safe the entire time. They were very patient and had a great sense of humor. I was a first time / beginner and absolutely had the best time. Also, met two others whom were international, and solo travelers, which is always a bonus. Joao was very trusting and experienced and this allowed us to explore and improve our climbing skills under his clear instruction. Joao also clearly communicated with us via WhatsApp before the trip to make sure we were in the right place at the right time. There were so many things that stood out such as the ease of communication, the combinations of functional movement and progressions to build up to the actual activity, understanding the skill level and adapting accordingly, the incredible locations, as well as going above and beyond to help with tips around the area. We did this as a team-building event with a group of colleagues and it was hands down, one of the best experiences I have been on. The team were very flexible and helpful throughout the booking process. We used a full service including pick up and drop off at the hotel, I would definitely recommend doing this if you're a group. The hiking route was breathtaking. Our guides were true natives who truly love Cascais and that was evident in how they spoke of their town and in the beautiful places they showed us. would highly recommend!

My little one (5 year old) went for a morning hike and climbing with the team at Cascais. He felt so big and happy when he got back. We will definitely register him again. It was a great nature experience for him

The views were amazing. Our guides had a lot of patience with us and taking photos..lol. We had a great time on this hike. My favorite part was the walk down hill from the forest. That breeze was just amazing!

We went on a wonderful hike with Joao. The scenery was beautiful and we ended it with a picnic up on a rock that Joao somehow coaxed my reluctant wife to scramble up. A wonderful and unique experience!

Cascais Routes offered us a wonderful experience in nature. João is a real local that knows the secret spots and great hiking trails. He is a guy of nature and shares that feeling with passion. His trips are a real adventure without losing safety out of sight. We will definitely join him again! He also offers great birthday parties for kids in nature..

We went on a guided hike with João and it was amazing! It was relaxing, challenging in a good way, and we got to see amazing views to the incredible Cascais coastline. João is an awesome guide and always making sure if you are ok. Highly recommended :)
