This is my third time going on a trip with Pedro and it was for my partners birthday. We had a wonderful time and learnt so much from his knowledgable storytelling en route. It truly was one of the best parts of the birthday weekend. Thank you Pedro!

This was my favorite experience in Lagos. The hike is one of the most scenic hikes I have ever done. Michael is very knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable and was helpful. If you want an unforgettable experience in nature and have fun, then this tour is for you.

The driver was very friendly and allowed time for the group to explore a beautiful area in Albufeira. After arriving to the top of the mountain to watch the sunset, we were pleasantly surprised to be given a glass of wine to enjoy with our view. A great opportunity to socialise with people with similar interest. We even managed to make friends with another couple who we still remain friendly with.

There was lots of really interesting tactile activities throughout the trip and gave you a very inspiring insight into the culture and nature of the Algarve. Absolutely loved it.

We absolutely loved this trip! Pedro, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the rural areas of the Algarve, and you could tell he really enjoyed showing us around. The highlights of the tour were just finding treasures along the way, such as medronho fruit straight from the tree, local wild herbs and plants, and even gem hunting! The trip was a great sensory experience - taste, touch, smell and wonderful sights. The section where we learnt about the Cork plantations and how it is harvested was fascinating to listen to, I'll never look at Cork the same way again! The 4x4 drive was great fun and even though I get travel sick I didn't feel poorly at all, it was just fun! There is opportunity for buying souvenirs but absolutely no pressure. Lunch was lovely too and had a great view. Very accommodating for vegetarians. Honestly we just loved this interesting, calm, beautiful trip. Great to see what the Algarve has to offer other than the coast. Thank you!

Booked a personal tour with Backland tours, just 2 of us and the guide Pedro. We asked for the history and culture of Portugal, and wow we got that in lorry loads. Up the mountains, stops across off road terrain to view plants, wildlife, tasting berries, view vista's you just don't get from the road. Stopped in villages to view churches, meet a local producer of 'firewater', honey, fruit etc. Lunch in a local cafe, friendly and welcoming, food tasty and plenty of it. Off road safari experience, up to the highest peak to view the Mediterranean and Atlantic coastlines. Throughout the day, Pedro was friendly, helpful, really keen to pass on his knowledge of his country and the local environment. Pickup and drop off from our front door. Well worth the money paid, actually honestly believe it was worth alot more. If you get the chance take it.

Having been to the Algarve many times we have missed the last 3 years (Covid etc etc) and asked locally about anything new. The excursion office on our site recommended this. It was brilliant!! We were picked up at 8.45 by Pedro in a Land Rover. During the drive to the next pickup (one more person so only 3 in total for the trip) Pedro explained what we would be doing during the trip. We told him about things we had done previously so he spent a few minutes working out what we liked, what we were happy to go back to and what could be new for us. So we got a good amount of off road tracks, an excellent visit to Monchique which is one of our favourite places, a call to a farm distillery to sample fire water, up to Foia for the best views on the Algarve and lunch at a local restaurant. Good simple food well cooked and well presented. Pedro was passionate about the Algarve and spent the whole day educating us (in the nicest possible way) about its wonders and attractions - which are plentiful. We really like people who are passionate about their homeland and are happy to pass that knowledge on to others. We speak no Portuguese, the other passenger spoke no English. But Pedro moved between the two languages seamlessly and was a font of knowledge (both from practised presentations and off the cuff stuff) so that we ended the day feeing that we had learned, been entertained and certainly had value for money. As I said at the beginning, we have been here many times and we honestly feel this is our joint number 1 experience on the Algarve. We would seriously recommend the trip to anyone wanting to do more than lie on a sunbed and soak up the rays. That is a worthwhile thing to do but this will add so much more to your holiday.

We are world travellers and have experienced many, many tours. This one is up there with the best. Pedro was committed to giving us an outstanding tour, taking us to see both local and historical sights as well as the exciting adventure in his 4 wheel drive over hills, valleys and twisting trails. We experienced the smell in our hand of wild herbs. He advised on pastries to try and his advice was spot on. We visited a distillery where we tried not only the outstanding wine but jams, honey, oils and eucalyptus oil, without any pressure to buy. Our day was topped off with a delicious lunch in a restaurant with exceptional views. Pedro knowledge was superb, taking time to explain and discuss everything. If you’re only able to book one trip, then book this one….it was fabulous.

Everything well arranged and organised considering our booking was last minute. Our tour guide and driver Pedro Fantastic exceeds our expectations !!!!! He is absolutely brilliant knowledgeable, friendly our half day tour was packed with fun, thrill, adventure and culture we feel we got real glimpse of the algarve and loved the whole experience thank you Pedro 💙💙🧡🧡🧡😊👍

Had a lovely tour around Algarve. The tour guide was very friendly and informative. We were able to see different landscapes, a village in which we had lovely Portuguese pastries and learned interesting history facts of the area. We enjoyed every bit of the tour and would happily do it again. Thank you very much for the experience.

This was by far the highlight of my trip, I spent 7 days in Albufeira and the highlight was this 4 hour trip. From the moment we stepped in the jeep, it was filled with laughter and educational facts of the land. The tour guide was fantastic at making us feel comfortable and safe. We had a great laugh. To people wanting to do this make sure you take loads of photos, I wish I did

Really good experience and a great way to learn about the history and culture of the algarve. Our host was very knowledgeable and kept us well engaged. Overall a fun and adventurous day out! Would definitely recommend.

Its hard to describe but it was fantastic from the moment we stepped into the jeep and the amount of information and fun activities along the way. I'm 27 years old and was sceptical at first but from the local area, to the distillery, the the mountains I loved it all.

We did the half day Jeep Safari to Monchique and had a fantastic time. Pedro our guide was very informative and knowledgeable and was obviously extremely passionate about the Portuguese traditions etc. We saw some stunning scenery with fantastic views for photo opportunities (Pedro took a fair few photos-many unbeknown to us-and sent them to us the same evening!). Overall a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this trip. Next time we’ll do the full day tour. Thanks Pedro.
