Old City Cemetery in Galveston is over 200 years old and is said to be one of the most unnerving sites in Texas. In that time, the cemetery has become the resting place for a menagerie of souls who bring a touch of mischief, mystique and the macabre to the island’s haunted history. You will meet “The Lady In Black” who will uncover the mysteries at the heart of Texas’ more unsettling stories.

      Thomas was a great host.
Even though I was the only one on the tour that night, my man Thomas handled it in a very professional manner. He told me all the stories and made the entire tour entertaining. Usually there are more people on the tour, but due to Hurricane Francine I'm sure most people avoided booking such entertainment that particular night. But, if you have a chance to book the Strand tour, make sure you do so. Thomas will make it worth your while.

      Historic Ghost Tour
Took the Historic Galveston Ghost Tour with Dave. He was very personable and a great storyteller with stories that I hadn't heard before. The tour itself was a decent amount of walking, so be prepared for that.

      Ghosts of the Strand tour
Thomas was an awesome storyteller with great energy (and dad jokes). The tour itself isn't physically over a very long distance, but with Galveston's history it didn't need to be.

Thomas is an amazing storyteller. He gives all the details (good and bad) while also inserting some humor into the history of Galveston.

Highly recommend this tour! Our tour guide Thomas was extremely informative, very social and open to questions and knows the city better than most locals! I highly recommend taking the tours at night and bring some water! You wont walk super far, but it is Texas after all!

      Loved it!
Loved how he told us about the history/stories. Really enjoyed our time. Went for a friend’s birthday and the tour guide made a joke about one of our other friend’s mullets. Our safe word was “banana”, we had a blast.

Thomas was a 10/10 tour guide! Set the tone and informed me of sooo many things I had no idea about before. It was only me and my girlfriend looking to have some fun and Thomas definitely made that happen! Thank you again :)

      Awesome History Tour!
This tour was very interesting, informative, and entertaining. It was just me and my partner on the tour. Our tour guide, Mike, was funny and very good at story telling.

This was a fun and informative cemetery tour. We learned a lot about the history and a little about the current state of things. I wasn’t aware of many of the changes to the cemetery over the last century and that was neat to see - especially its impact on those who couldn’t afford to the upkeep when those changes were implemented.

To start, we met Annette outside of the cemetery. NOT the address on the listing, but directly across Broadway from there. Most of the group figured this out, but she called to help those who went to the address on the booking.

Then she showed us pictures on her phone of what we could expect to see and what those things might mean. I must admit to being a bit of a skeptic, but I definitely captured some of these things in my photos, so that was a neat addition to the tour.

We toured the Old City Cemetery and saw different sections, including the Episcopalian and Catholic sections. Along the way, Annette showed us the impact of the raising of the island at different points, told us about specific gravestones, and told us about general trends about death in Victorian and Edwardian times. I found the history to be quite insightful - and I’m glad I live today!

Great job to Annette and thank you for one of the most information cemetery tours I’ve been on.

The cemetery was beautiful and the tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable on the history. However, the surrounding area is actually quite unsafe, there were several verbally aggressive homless people circling us and making us feel uncomfortable. Annette, while knowledgeable, was crass and was more of a strict school teacher than a friendly guide, and we felt we couldnt ask questions out of turn, which considering it was a paid tour and not a school class, was very offputting. If you plan on going, bring something to protect yourself, or go during the day.

Great experience. Galveston has quite a bit off interesting history. We took our family of 6, kids ranging in age 8-14 and they thought it was interesting. Our 10 year old talked about the stories when we left and is saving this information to discuss with his classmates. Wish we would have brought big spray as the mosquitoes were out. Good experience, would do again, but with bug spray!

We left in the middle. Don’t spend your time or money. I’d like a refund, frankly. The tour guide spent more time verbally disparaging the homeless people around the cemetery than she did talking about the history. She was also bossy and rude.

Unfortunately you have the wrong take on Annette. Not only does she take care of the cemetery but she helps the homeless people who live there every day. Every day! Your criticism is not only unfounded but unfair I spoke to the other people on your tour and they all agreed that you were outrageous and rude . I stand by the five star that our tour guide consistently receives.

Ms. Annette was our tour guide. She was magnificent and knew the history of Galveston which she shared. She was very knowledgeable of the inhabitants in the cemetery as well. The only thing I would recommend is to give the group at least 20 minutes to walk around the cemetery alone towards the end of the tour and then meet back at the gate to end 😊😊. Very pleased with the tour

During my recent Galveston escape, we booked a Cemetery Tour that we enjoyed. Guided by an insightful narrator, we delved into the city's rich history in the setting of the cemetery. The stories shared were both intriguing and thought-provoking, offering a deeper appreciation for Galveston's past. It's the kind of experience that should be added to a vacation agenda. Highly recommended for those seeking a unique and enriching adventure.

The tour was very interesting! Annette was our tour guide and you could tell she was quite knowledgeable on the history of this town and it’s past. She also had a sense of humor which added on to the experience. Although we toured around 10:00 pm, Annette made us feel very safe and intrigued throughout the entire experience. We also got to take tons and tons of pictures of “orbs” and the cemetery. I would definitely recommend taking this tour next time you visit!

This was a great tour filled with a lot of interesting stories and history. Our guide took us through a couple of Galveston's cemeteries pointing out interesting headstones and mausoleums. We had plenty of time to take pictures and she ended the tour with suggestions on other haunted spots to check out on the island.

Well, I wasn’t going to leave a review, because I didn’t have anything nice to say, but after seeing The owner comment on Darrell’s review thinking it was my group, I had to. We showed up on time, 2 women and 3 children, it is not the nicest neighborhood with a liquor store across the street.

8:03 I called tour company because guide was not there. Owner told me guide was there talking to 5 people on tour. The 5 people were in my car. So lied to me. Told me it only works if I get out of my car. 2 women and 3 children in shady area. No thanks

Guide finally did show up and was very angry because owner sent him numerous angry texts to get to the F***ing tour spot. Guide showed us these

Guide was new to area, 2 months, and made comment that he was suppose to be in strand tonight because that is where he makes his money. These are things that shouldn’t be said on a tour like this

Tour could be good it they work out kinks and make people feel secure in unsecured surroundings

Unfortunately, it was a very difficult night all around. the tour guide who you mentioned is been fired. I'm very sorry that you did not have the experience that you expected. I did speak with you about returning your money before the tour began because I couldn't get him on the phone. apparently he showed up and was angry that I was trying to reach him. Frantically. again. I apologize if the tour wasn't up to your expectations.
