    Great museum
A very good chocolate museum - starts with the mayans and aztecs, goes through the conquistadors and through to the present day. Chocolate making demonstration included and plenty of chocolate to sample

Great entertaining adventure with a taste outcome
Very enjoyable and educational. Learnt a great deal about the history of chocolate and how it is made. Ended the tour with a chocolate surprise

    Very boring
This was probably the most boring museum I have ever been to. Walking around endless flights of stairs listening to a horrible audio description and looking at really dull ‘artefacts’ very loosely related to chocolate. We did the whole thing in under 30 minutes. Only slightly salvaged by the interesting demonstration at the end (5 minutes max). I really wish we hadn’t bothered, for 13 euro each this did not represent good value for money. Almost nothing was interactive, way too much boring and pointless information and we pretty much wanted to leave the whole time. Avoid

    Well worth a visit.
An interesting and informative place, well worth a visit. Definitely use the commentary to get the best out of the visit. Lots of stairs so not a place for the infirm. Delicious chocolate.

Once you get the hang of the audio tour, you'll realise it's the future...
Great for kids and adults alike with a well constructed narrative that affords visitors the opportunity to connect the high level story while dwelling on the detail (if they wish). Took a few minutes to get used to the audio tour, which initially feels a little gimmicky, but you quickly realise that the content is well structured and thought out. It leads young and old through an interesting history of chocolate and its significance to Belgium. Really brings to life the story, significance, and 'relative recency' of various chocolate innovations (in the grand scheme of time). Would certainly recommended as a highlight of our visit to Bruges

Great for families, “best museum ever” said the 4 year old.
Brilliant! We booked this as a rainy day activity, it was ideal for our 4 and 10 year olds. We were impressed by the audio guides which meant we could go at our own pace. Helpful coat storage at the start meant we didn’t have to carry bulky winter coats around. Quite fast paced with lots of different rooms and interactive exhibits (the 4 year old liked the smelly ones!) Chocolate tasting at the end was also a hit! Well worth a visit for families, but do book in advance as it can get busy.

Very interesting audio tour, free chocolate and a demonstration. Would recommend for adults and children alike.

Brilliant Museum - Avoid the busy periods
The staff were great. The history and journey of chocolate and the exhibition were really interesting. Brilliant it was in so many languages. Fascinating with whipping the chocolate. The chocolate demonstration was great. But there were far too many people; which spoilt it for us. We were queuing and struggling to get to the listening points. Then couldn’t see half of the writings and videos. It needs to be staggered much more and / or less people. I wouldn’t recommend it because of that. But if there were less people, it would have had a 4/5 star.

    Not worth the money
Disappointing trip that failed to represent good value for money. The chocolate was tasty I must say, the tour did not involve as much freebies as I expected and it was quite boring. Even though we got chocolate, by the time we got there there was not much left. I did not think it was worth the money paid for a family of 4; Cadbury world was a superior experience

Not worth the money or time
This is an over-hyped, over-priced museum. In a nation known for its quality chocolate I expected more from this museum, especially when they charge 13 Euros per adult. The museum tells the story of how Europeans discovered the existence of chocolate in a painstakingly slow process that I have to believe losses the attention of most who wander through. Kids will have no patience for this museum. The highlight of the museum is likely the meager "free" samples provided at the end. A better and more enjoyable experience would be to visit a local chocolate shop and buy 13 Euros of fine Belgium chocolate

This was interesting and informative with a little demo on chocolate making at the end. Interesting hot chocolate paraphernalia, like the cup designed for those with moustaches

    Everything Chocolate
Learn the complete story of chocolate – from discovery to evolution into today’s products - at your own speed using headphones. Museum also houses production equipment, serving items (chocolate pots) and related marketing pieces (posters, ads.) Your visit ends with a demonstration of chocolate production with delicious samples.

An interesting insight into the history of chocolate production
A comprehensive and interesting insight into the history of chocolate production with many artefacts to see. The audio guides are easy to use and contain just the right amount of information. Rooms can get a little crowded which can lead to slight delays in some areas. Overall would highly recommend especially the 'eat all you can' chocolate at the end of the visit!

    Fascinating Visit
A fascinating tour through the history of the chocolate that we all love. The online booking was very easy and efficient. It was good value for a family of 4. The only criticism would be that we still had to queue with non ticket holders to enter which made us worry that we would miss the time slot for our tickets, a very British thing I know. In the end It didn't seem to be a problem that we were late. The audio tour was a great idea meaning we could wonder around in our own time. The exhibits are well set out and well maintained. The tour flows well and there is chocolate to taste at the end while you watch the demonstrations. A must visit attraction whilst in the city.

    Fabulous experience
We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. It was larger and more interesting than we had imagined. My 15 and 17 year old sons loved it. And the delicious chocolate at the end was such a bonus!!

It was a lot of fun! We made our own chocolate with white, milk and dark chocolate. The instructor was friendly and her instructions were easy and fun. The museum was good and some of it was interactive which was very cool. I recommend booking the workshop in advance online.

Really good fun and great little chocolates to take home. Definitely worth taking a look round the museum as well whilst you are there. You can get there early and do the museum first or go after the workshop.

Chocolate workshop with 15 and 9 year old. It was well organised with an experienced teacher! We felt it could have been a little longer as we were just getting the hang of things and it was time to wrap up! I suppose if longer it might not be suitable for younger kids. Thomas, our teacher was lovely. My 9 year old particularly liked the print outs that could be copied through the paper

We had a fab workshop with Louisa. She taught us so much about chocolate and showed us how to make our own praline filled chocolates. She let us try as much chocolate as we could manage and we got to take all our chocolates we made home with us. Was so much fun and was great to taste a raw cocoa bean! Thanks Louisa!! :)
