- nataliemG4610KN0 contributionsWorst Experience! This was terrible. Unhygienic and the chocolate was awful. No choice just dark chocolate. We had to tell the instructor to get off his phone to go to the next step whole class waiting. Was unfortunate as we were really excited to have a good experience, was simply awful.Written December 26, 2023

- ddschur0 contributionsWonderful time!We had an excellent instructor in Ike! He showed us and helped us in the process of making chocolate. As fun as this experience was, and I DO RECOMMEND this tour, for me it is much easier and less messy to buy the local chocolate from the shops...you can't go wrong! LOLWritten May 9, 2023

The workshop gave an insight into the skill required to making chocolates with filling.
We worked in pairs undertaking the process from start to the finish product under instruction.
The instructor was insightful, funny and we managed to create 20 plus handmade chocolates. A box was supplied with a label.
At the end of the process we were able to consume the remaining chocolate sauce in the bowl. Yummy!
And drink the hot chocolate made by our instructor .
Divine.
I highly recommend experience even if you don’t know how to bake and the 2+ hours flew by.
Well organised, good value and a highlight of our visit to Bruges.
Thank you ☺️

When in Rome... we learnt how to make pasta, so on our first ever trip to Belgium, there was only one choice... chocolate!
We read the reviews for various experiences on TA and plumbed for this one, about 15 minutes from the city centre, although I did panic when we arrived that I'd got the wrong address as it was a quiet road and no obvious signs of any chocolate class! Fortunately we were met at the door by Ami and she found our booking and sent us to put on our aprons!
For the next two hours, we mixed, stirred, poured and dipped our fingers in melted Belgian chocolate as Ami talked us through the various steps needed to become master chocolatiers (well, maybe semi pros!).
Each step was special, but the mixing of the ganache and then choosing the various fillings (nuts, sprinkles, strawberry syrup, honey etc) was the best and the whole experience flew-by.
Ami was great, super-helpful and patient and we had an absolute blast!
This was a seriously special day and we would recommend this to anyone coming to Brussels.

Nour was our chocolate champion and was great at explaining each process on how to prepare the chocolate, mixing flavours, making ganache and being a very welcoming and fun chocolatier.
We had a great time making pralines, mini chocolates with fruit and nuts and also delicious hot chocolate…. A chocoholics dream!
We had all the equipment, aprons and everything we needed to make this experience and great success and lots of fun. There was also tap water available if needed.
Would definitely recommend to all.

We were in Bruges as an extension of a Viking River Cruise. We were glad to give our tired joints a break from walking the cobblestone streets.
Our teacher was Anna, who was knowledgeable and friendly. Chocolate melting pots and equipment were set around large work tables. We used Caillebaut chocolate chips as the basis for all the chocolates made. We tempered the chocolate, and went through the process of creating what they refer to as pralines—filled chocolates. Listen to Anna and don’t overfill the chocolate shells! I felt she could have used an extra set of hands to carry the components down a set of stairs to the freezers or chillers and back up again as well as the water she brought for us to drink and to help with instruction and cleanup. Restrooms and sinks were up another set of stairs, recently constructed since the lumber was new and the area was not closed in. As others have noted, boxes were provided for the finished candies.
Four stars for two reasons: First, it was a full house, with two sets of three sharing their respective chocolate pot/station and the remaining couples making up around 20 or so participants so it was crowded. I also didn’t feel there were enough bottles of fillings for the candies to go around. Secondly, the steps leading upstairs were painted black and difficult to see and get up and down. There was a smaller area on the first floor for a smaller group; as seniors, we would have preferred that. I’d appreciate stone steps being painted a lighter color for safety reasons.

It was the best activity we did in Bruges during our weekend (along with the horse and carriage). It was wonderful fun, and we loved the chocolate. The entire activity was engaging, funny, and the atmosphere was awesome.
A massive thanks to Harry who lead the class. He was great fun, and made sure everyone enjoyed the experience, gave individual attention where necessary, and ensured we all ended up making our own wonderful chocolates. He was awesome!

The Belgian Chocolate Workshop in Bruges was ok but didn't meet our expectations. Tom tried his best but I was really expecting an expert in chocolate making and Tom seemed like a student who had just been told how to run the workshop. I was expecting some history about chocolate making and this was only given after prompting and I don't think he really knew if what he was saying was true. I have done a chocolate workshop in Edinburgh and the one in Edinburgh was much better. The person running that was much more knowledgeable about the history of chocolate and the whole set up was more professional. However, as I say Tom tried his best.

I went to this class with family including two teens. We all had a great time. It was interesting learning all that goes into making chocolate candy. We gained a new appreciation for the time and artistry involved. Henry our instructor was informative and patient. We all came home with at least 30 chocolates that we personally made and class ended with the best cup of hot chocolate I have ever had. The 2 1-2 hours ent by fast even for our teens. I would highly recommend this workshop.

Miranda was our chocolatier, and she could not have been more engaging. A wonderful, educational, hands-on experience. I recommend this workshop to everyone who loves chocolate or is curious about why Belgium chocolate is so renown. The pralines we made in class were as special as those you will find at the many chocolate shops within Brugge's historic center. (And, we each made 35+ chocolates to take home!) A lovely education and memory of Brugge.

This was good fun and a great way to spend a cold afternoon in Bruge. Our host was informative and friendly with great English, and the chocolates we made were surprisingly professional looking! He only thing holding me back from 5 stars is the facilities, which were ok but not amazing. I’d have loved to be able to get a drink on arrival (we did get hot chocolate at the end) and the bathroom facilities were kinda basic. But don’t let that put you off if you want to have a go at making chocolates as overall this was still good value for money.

A great afternoon spent making Belgian chocolate. Rose was exceptional and takes the time with each person ensuring everything is taken care of. You get to take home a lot of chocolate and is great value for money.
