I was the only one who showed up for the tour, but Andy still ran it just for me, which was awesome! He was super nice and really knowledgeable about Bruges, sharing interesting facts about the city while taking me to some incredible spots. His tips on using my camera were super helpful, and I learned a ton. I came away with some great photos. Highly recommend if you want to improve your photography and explore Bruges from a unique perspective!

One of the best ways to see and learn about Bruges. Andy’s photographer’s eye helps one see Bruges from perspectives that bring so much life to already beautiful venues. If you’re learning photography, you will find a wealth of information in the time that flies by and you will find you’ve taken some great photos. This was our second excursion with Andy and we hope it won’t be our last.

As a semi-pro photographer, I questioned whether I needed to do a tour in a city like Bruges, but after corresponding with Andy, I decided to go for it and I'm so glad I did. From the start, he was very prompt in responses and my questions. I ended up doing the private Edges of Brugge, which is the one I'd recommend as it gets you away from the busiest canals of the city center. What I always like about a good, well-organized photo tour is that they're such an efficient way of maximizing your chances to get good shots. A place like Bruges that is fairly small and beautiful everywhere might seem super easy photograph well, but its sometimes hard to get unique shots that don't look like the same ones most others get. Andy was great about getting me to spots that had unique compositional opportunities and the potential for things to develop, like places where a boat could come through a great spot of the frame and add another dimension to it. I also appreciated that it was a good cross-section of the city, from the canals, to architecture, to some quiet streets, to little details that I would probably not have noticed. He also encouraged me to try some different compositions that I wouldn't have normally, and I ended up with some unique angles that showed the streets and buildings from a perspective I wouldn't usually think to try. Andy has real passion and energy for this work and it shows. One tip I would give is that the private tour is very reasonably-priced and the way to go. You can have a flexible start time and I'd suggest starting early, like maybe 8-9 am or so, so you can get out ahead of the boats and crowds. It's much quieter and you can get some great reflections in the water as it's very still before the boats start out. Really great experience all the way!

I booked the tour for a friend and myself. We both like to take photos but are anything else than experienced! :) So we thought, maybe we learn something new and see spots we would not discover on our own. And our expectation got exciedet by miles!!! Not only was Andy our guide an absolut pro behind the camera but as well super friendly, organized and absolutly well informed about historical information and interesting storys. He took us to so many amazing places, showed us example pictures with different angels, different focus and lightning. Explained from which position he took the picture and than gave us plenty of time to either recreate his shot or experiment on our own. Is was absolutly amazing how much a detail can influence the outcome! He really opend our eyes to see things differently, be creative and try out new things. When you traveling to Brügge, defenetely plan one of Andys tours! We would book again anny time again! Thank you so much Andy, we really had an amazing time!

I took two of Andy’s tours. Got a little history of the city + great photo ops that I wouldn’t have found on my own. If you want to capture some good shots, Andy’s tours are well worth the time and effort.

Booded a two hour session with Andy after spotting his brochure in our hotel. Best 60 Euros I spent in my 6 weeks in Europe. Thoroughly enjoyable, Andy was very helpful, made wonderful suggestions and thoughtful critique, as well as providing great locations in the quieter part of town. Helped me explore wide angle photography which I had previously tended to avoid.

I thoroughly enjoyed this photo tour of the lesser known parts of Brugge with Andy. He is a great photographer and freely offered many creative ideas to capture unique images, including showing us examples of his own work at each site he took us to. He encourages you to play with different ideas and offers tips on your specific camera or phone. If you enjoy photography on any level, do t hesitate to take this tour. You’ll learn a lot about photography and some history of Rugge as well.

Andy is a great host - we visited lots of locations and were shown detail we might have otherwise overlooked. Info was illustrative and anecdotal, useful and thought provoking. If you are not sure about this tour - just do it, you won't be disappointed!

Enjoyed it so much, I booked a second tour the following morning. Great way to see the city with a long-time resident AND come away with some wonderful photos. As an extra bonus, Andy brought a folding bike for my wife, who is not a photographer, to come along on the workshop and share in the experience.

My wife and I booked a two hour lesson July 2023. It was excellent. Andy is bright, cheerful, positive and engaging, and doesn't care how good your camera is. We were at different skill levels, but he adapted to that easily. Pre meeting communication was complete, meeting up was straightforward, and his main teaching method was to take us to photogenic sites, show us what he had taken on a tablet, and why, then we had a go and we discussed our results – framing, foreground etc. - he focussed on what we requested. We ended up with more knowledge and good photos. He also advised on camera settings (and also mentioned he teaches smartphone photography skills). However, he mixes his teaching skills with tourist information when asked – the oldest pub, good restaurants, cultural components of population and city growth, so the end result for us was a significant increase in the quality of our stay. I commend his skills and his teaching sessions.

This was the best photo tour I’ve ever experienced! Andy is a pro and he shares his amazing photos and helps you get the creative angles and gives you the proper settings and i informative tips about photography and history. BEST PHOTO TOUR EVER!

Had a photo tour with Andy last Saturday. March 11. We saw a lot and were able to take great photos. Andy told a lot and we got enough time to capture beautiful memories of Bruges. I had a fantastic time with Andy. Walking thru Brugge under his guidance was an experience I heartily recommend to anyone. He is very knowledgeable, had great photography tips, and has an excellent knowledge of Brugge itself. He is patient, funny, and a great photographer, could not have asked for a better guide.
