- timsJ2274SL0 contributionsGet some great shots of this incredibly picturesque city!I was the only one who showed up for the tour, but Andy still ran it just for me, which was awesome! He was super nice and really knowledgeable about Bruges, sharing interesting facts about the city while taking me to some incredible spots. His tips on using my camera were super helpful, and I learned a ton. I came away with some great photos. Highly recommend if you want to improve your photography and explore Bruges from a unique perspective!Written September 26, 2024
- jhessdvm0 contributionsBeautiful Bruges made even more beautiful. One of the best ways to see and learn about Bruges. Andy’s photographer’s eye helps one see Bruges from perspectives that bring so much life to already beautiful venues. If you’re learning photography, you will find a wealth of information in the time that flies by and you will find you’ve taken some great photos. This was our second excursion with Andy and we hope it won’t be our last.Written September 18, 2024
- Z7870ITerika0 contributionsExcellent guide and variety of a beautiful cityAs a semi-pro photographer, I questioned whether I needed to do a tour in a city like Bruges, but after corresponding with Andy, I decided to go for it and I'm so glad I did. From the start, he was very prompt in responses and my questions. I ended up doing the private Edges of Brugge, which is the one I'd recommend as it gets you away from the busiest canals of the city center. What I always like about a good, well-organized photo tour is that they're such an efficient way of maximizing your chances to get good shots. A place like Bruges that is fairly small and beautiful everywhere might seem super easy photograph well, but its sometimes hard to get unique shots that don't look like the same ones most others get. Andy was great about getting me to spots that had unique compositional opportunities and the potential for things to develop, like places where a boat could come through a great spot of the frame and add another dimension to it. I also appreciated that it was a good cross-section of the city, from the canals, to architecture, to some quiet streets, to little details that I would probably not have noticed. He also encouraged me to try some different compositions that I wouldn't have normally, and I ended up with some unique angles that showed the streets and buildings from a perspective I wouldn't usually think to try. Andy has real passion and energy for this work and it shows. One tip I would give is that the private tour is very reasonably-priced and the way to go. You can have a flexible start time and I'd suggest starting early, like maybe 8-9 am or so, so you can get out ahead of the boats and crowds. It's much quieter and you can get some great reflections in the water as it's very still before the boats start out. Really great experience all the way!Written July 27, 2024
- E2958LKmonikas0 contributionsAny time again!!!I booked the tour for a friend and myself. We both like to take photos but are anything else than experienced! :) So we thought, maybe we learn something new and see spots we would not discover on our own. And our expectation got exciedet by miles!!! Not only was Andy our guide an absolut pro behind the camera but as well super friendly, organized and absolutly well informed about historical information and interesting storys. He took us to so many amazing places, showed us example pictures with different angels, different focus and lightning. Explained from which position he took the picture and than gave us plenty of time to either recreate his shot or experiment on our own. Is was absolutly amazing how much a detail can influence the outcome! He really opend our eyes to see things differently, be creative and try out new things. When you traveling to Brügge, defenetely plan one of Andys tours! We would book again anny time again! Thank you so much Andy, we really had an amazing time!Written June 15, 2024
- 305colleenk0 contributionsPhoto Tours Brugge—Great Photo OpportunitiesI took two of Andy’s tours. Got a little history of the city + great photo ops that I wouldn’t have found on my own. If you want to capture some good shots, Andy’s tours are well worth the time and effort.Written May 27, 2024
- Peter W0 contributionsA great experience with stunning shots of Bruges as a bonus.Booded a two hour session with Andy after spotting his brochure in our hotel. Best 60 Euros I spent in my 6 weeks in Europe. Thoroughly enjoyable, Andy was very helpful, made wonderful suggestions and thoughtful critique, as well as providing great locations in the quieter part of town. Helped me explore wide angle photography which I had previously tended to avoid.Written May 12, 2024
- alco110 contributionsHighlight of our trip!I thoroughly enjoyed this photo tour of the lesser known parts of Brugge with Andy. He is a great photographer and freely offered many creative ideas to capture unique images, including showing us examples of his own work at each site he took us to. He encourages you to play with different ideas and offers tips on your specific camera or phone. If you enjoy photography on any level, do t hesitate to take this tour. You’ll learn a lot about photography and some history of Rugge as well.Written May 2, 2024
- Global185911865510 contributionsTwo hours well spent!Andy is a great host - we visited lots of locations and were shown detail we might have otherwise overlooked. Info was illustrative and anecdotal, useful and thought provoking. If you are not sure about this tour - just do it, you won't be disappointed!Written March 16, 2024
- Howard8080 contributionsGreat photo workshop and a terrific way to see the cityEnjoyed it so much, I booked a second tour the following morning. Great way to see the city with a long-time resident AND come away with some wonderful photos. As an extra bonus, Andy brought a folding bike for my wife, who is not a photographer, to come along on the workshop and share in the experience.Written September 17, 2023
- StephenL8900 contributionsExcellent photgraphy experienceMy wife and I booked a two hour lesson July 2023. It was excellent. Andy is bright, cheerful, positive and engaging, and doesn't care how good your camera is. We were at different skill levels, but he adapted to that easily. Pre meeting communication was complete, meeting up was straightforward, and his main teaching method was to take us to photogenic sites, show us what he had taken on a tablet, and why, then we had a go and we discussed our results – framing, foreground etc. - he focussed on what we requested. We ended up with more knowledge and good photos. He also advised on camera settings (and also mentioned he teaches smartphone photography skills). However, he mixes his teaching skills with tourist information when asked – the oldest pub, good restaurants, cultural components of population and city growth, so the end result for us was a significant increase in the quality of our stay. I commend his skills and his teaching sessions.Written July 27, 2023

I did a night photo shoot with Andy. It was the highlight of my trip. I scheduled for a couple reasons: help in finding best shots since I didn’t have three weeks to explore and to improve my skills in night photography. My expectations were exceeded in both! I just edited my pictures and have a couple dozen spectacular shots I would have never gotten on my own. Andy was helpful in settling up the shots, getting the best lighting, using my equipment, creative ideas, and giving helpful evaluation of each shot. Besides that he made the whole experience pleasurable. I left a better photographer. If you’re serious about your photography or just want a casual walk about I can’t recommend him highly enough. I’ll schedule another session anytime I’m in Bruges.

My wife and I went with Andy on a 3 hour evening photo tour. Andy was very professional, knowledgeable, and fun to be with. Andy first asked about our photography experience and what our expectations were. I do photography as a hobby and am always interested in learning from others and seeing how others create their compositions. Andy was very informative. He shared his technical knowledge as well as photos showing examples of his compositions at some of the locations we visited.
Andy knows the history of Brugge. As we walked around town he told us the history of locations and people that influenced the town. We really enjoyed his sharing of the local history. He also gave us suggestions of other areas of town to visit and photograph during the day.
Andy and I use the same camera systems. He let me try out one of his lenses, which in my opinion is going way above and beyond our expectations.
Andy is a polite and kind individual. We truly enjoyed our tour with him.

My husband book an evening photo tour with Andy - it was wonderful! I'm not a photographer but came along as the "plus 1" as I knew it would also be informative and interesting. Andy took us to some key photo spots as the light changed through the evening. My husband enjoyed learning from Andy's experience and his "tips" to improve the photos. It was a fun evening that we both enjoyed. Andy was very pleasant, interesting and entertaining. He also provided suggestions for places to visit / eat / drink over the next few days.

Unfortunately with the current Covid-19 pandemic I could not go on the photo tour. That is too bad as I was looking forward to it. Andy's pictures on his website are great.
Working with Andy to set up the tour was a pleasure. He was very accommodating. Even when I had to cancel, he was easy to work with. Only wish I was able to go on the tour. Perhaps next year after the pandemic has passed, ...

I had a great private tour with Andy in May 2024. His easy-going manner and great location & composition advice helped jump-start my photography of not only Brugge but the other towns I visited on my trip. I also learned a lot about the history of the town and the local culture as well as getting some great tips on local restaurants and beer!

I enjoyed every single minute of this tour. It was a perfect mix of photography skills, exploring the local culture. Additionally Andy gave me loads of useful tips.
When my husband saw my photos (he couldn’t travel with me) he thought I stole Andy‘s photos.
Thank you Andy!

Very lovely guy who adapted the tour well to our needs (my sister's operated leg) and was able to go into enthusiastic detail whenever we had particular interests or further questions. The way he presented photography was very inspirational and gave me new ideas in what ways to improve the way I choose my motives. He was very positive and encouraging about reviewing my takes on realizing the discussed techniques. I am a very amateur photographer which was no problem at all and he's definitely not snobby about 'only' using smartphones.
Thank you very much, Andy!
