Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- mattmE2113MR0 contributionsExcellent guide! My wife and I had a private guided tour with Artur. Artur is knowledgeable, charming, and accommodating. His wry sense of humor will leave you smiling. Highly recommend. Matt and MarieWritten September 6, 2024

- Adrienne T0 contributionsGreat day in Brugge with Artur!I booked a private tour with Artur. He customized it to provide what we needed and for the time we needed. Artur is very attentive and thoughtful. We all appreciated his storytelling skills. He was enthusiastic and engaging. We appreciated everything he prepared for us!Written July 14, 2024
- mlineback0 contributionsBiking Bruge with Philippe.Philippe was very personable, knowledgeable, with a great passion for his country. He met us on time, provided bikes, and gave a great tour of Bruge. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Philippe to anyone. He does limited tours as a hobby at this point, since he is a retired teacher, and wants to stay fresh while he does them. Simply outstanding!Written July 12, 2024
- T7525IXkellys0 contributionsAn amazing introduction to BrugesWe had the best experience with Philippe. After messaging Philipe to see if he did a version of his incredible sounding tour non-cycling (as I can't ride a bike!), we booked his tour for our first morning in Bruges, and he was so accommodating. It was just me, my partner, and Philippe, and it was an incredible personalised experience. He showed us all the main sites, hidden gems, avoiding the big crowds, and lots of great stories too. It was so much fun getting to know him, and his city. We could not fault our experience at all - 100% recommend.Written July 8, 2024
- beatricecJ8309MP0 contributionswonderful tour of Bruges! We really enjoyed our tour with Tom. He was friendly and sincere from the moment we met him. We left the tour with so much interesting information about Bruges that left us wanting to return for a visit! The pace of the tour was perfect. The sights were varied and interesting. We can highly recommend Tom as a local guide. He is kind and very good at what he does. Thank you!Written June 26, 2024
- sallydB5534QW0 contributionsOccupy Wall St meets BrugesMost reviews of this tour are very positive, naming particular guides. But we got a former Occupy Wall Street protester - an American (Mike?) - who gave as the most bizarre “history” of Bruges. He saw Masonic symbols in all the churches, built long before Freemasons came to Belgium, railed at the “mafia” figures he alleged were behind Bruges’ decline (naming as chief villain Louis de Gruuthuse, a fascinating figure of whom he told us nothing). He gave a totally false account of the legend of the city swans and missed pointing out things like the tomb of the wife of Maximilian even when we were in the church in which she lay. Also missed: the significance to the city of the relic of the Holy Blood. Nor did we get an explanation for the astonishing rise of Bruges, or much else, including its art. We were not offered the advertised sample of food or drink, and Mike (?) did not accompany me to the Michelangelo statue because he had forgotten his wallet and presumably free pass. In fact, we even paid for a small gift he wanted for his son. We did get a lengthy account of his own history, which was not what we paid for, and he was a couple of minutes late besides. All that said, Bruges is so lovely that nothing can spoil it and Mike showed us some nice things and was perfectly pleasant. In fact, he googled for answers to questions we asked about what we saw, and adopted the tour to our wishes as we went. My tip: I’d you take this tour, see if you can get one of he guides who gets the rave reviews.Written June 21, 2024
- Safari274005503710 contributionsBeautiful Bruges by BicycleWe enjoyed a fantastic ride with Philippe from Withlocals. We shared with him our main areas of interests and he met every objective for what we wanted to do and see. He knows hidden treasures and unknown places that he shared with us including gorgeous secret gardens and stunning street art we would have never found on our own. His obvious love for his city and his wealth of knowledge, both personal and historical, made for a wonderful experience for us. The ride was fun, easy and the perfect way to see the city. You see things from the seat of a bicycle you just can't see by car, boat or on foot. We highly recommend Philippe and his tour. He's interesting, pleasant, easy going an excellent ride leader. We will always remember our time with him and be grateful for the time he spent with us.Written June 17, 2024
- kellya08270 contributionsPhenomenal!Jay was a great guide for me. I wanted to see what a local felt were the best things about Brugge. Jay was born and raised there so not only did he show me incredible sights of the area, he seems to know everyone! I wanted to get a piece of jewelry from a local artist and Jay had friends with a shop. I bought a one-of-a-kind ring and it's a treasured keepsake. Jay goes above and beyond for his guests, shares the history of the beautiful city and shows areas that you might miss with other guides. He walks fast so have your walking shoes on but he also stopped for every picture I wanted to take so just let him know what you want to do. Great guide and a new friend.Written May 25, 2024
- florenciap8080 contributionsBest way to visit Brugge!Philippe was an incredible guide, taking us through the secret places, explaining the history with dynamic and interesting details. Both my kids and us enjoyed it very much! The bicycle ride was amazing!Written May 21, 2024

- lisabW2882NG0 contributionsFantastic tour!Nathan was wonderful. He catered the tour to our preference, but also told us so many interesting facts about the history of the city and its people. We feel in love with Bruges by watching the movie “In Bruges” so we came from the United States to see it firsthand. Nathan showed us where scenes from the movie were filmed and also told us things about the filming of the movie. He surpassed our expectations! Thank you, Nathan!!Written May 7, 2024

- Fiona L0 contributionsHidden Gems IndeedArtur was friendly and his enthusiastic delivery of the history of Brugge was a pleasure to behold. Artur made us welcome and we had a great time. I'd been to Brugge a couple of times before but he took us places and gave us the history of areas I had never explored. He was happy to answer any questions and a change to his timetable was accommodated by Artur contacting me well in advance and offering to pick us up at the station if necessary. To top it all off he took us to a fantastic waffle house as a result I've had my mind changed about this Belgian delicacy. Thank you Artur and if we are ever here again we'll certainly book another of your tours.Written April 24, 2024
- LukeD20000 contributionsPhilippee is the best!!Philippee is the best! We are a family of 6 - two parents and 4 children (all adults). We wanted to see everything Bruges has to offer, and Philippee delivered fantastically! We went to Churches, hidden gems, the lot! The bikes were very modern and easy to use, and the knowledge, patience and humour was brilliant from Philippe. We even ended at a Brewery (at our request) and enjoyed some local stories - linking with our home in London. We also made a mistaken on arrival time and Philippee was VERY accommodating with the change - thank you Philippee, we had a fantastic time.Written March 30, 2024

I was in Bruges with my family, most of us were vegetarian, however our guide was very accommodating. He was easy going and went with our pace. He had lots of good insights and stories about the area and its history. We had a great time touring the city with him and learning about Belgian gastronomy. I highly recommend this tour if you want to get a feel for the city and eat delicious local food.

Patrick was a wonderful host and it felt like he went out of his way to make our stay special. We enjoyed all his insights into the city and the food. He seemed genuinely excited to share his hometown with us as well as make sure we felt welcomed. Thank you very much. We will happily recommend this experience to our friends.

Jay took us on a wonderful trip through Bruges showing us both the highlights of the city and some lesser known spots off the beaten path. We tasted local meats and cheeses, chocolates, the local Cuberdon jelly candies, waffles, frites, ice cream and of course, beer. It was Monday so a few places were closed, but Jay was ready with an excellent plan B!
Seriously great guy, gave us lots of suggestions for places to go and an excellent restaurant recommendation. I highly recommend that you do this tour at the beginning of your visit because he gives you the highlights so you understand a bit of the history and have a better idea of what you’d like to do next.

My husband and I had a wonderful day with Patrick. We enjoyed two kinds of waffles, cheese, chocolate candy, the most amazing hot chocolate, another kind of candy made only in Bruges, beer, cookies, and last but not least, freshly made fries with mustard flavored mayonnaise. But this was so much more than a food tour. Patrick was born and raised in Bruges and shared his knowledge of the city and its important monuments and attractions with us as we walked from tasting to tasting. We learned as much about the city and its history as we did about local cuisine. It was like having two tours for the price of one. If you’re visiting Bruges, this is the tour to take.

We really enjoyed our tour with Patrick.
Being Belgian we know most of our food, but it was nice to chat, reminisce and still learn a few novelties.
Patrick was also very knowledgeable about the city of Bruges, and interaction with our 10year old was nice. Trying to find out what she already knew was fun.
It was nice to do the tour with a local, seeying and hearing his love for the culture and city. Also being in a small private group made the interaction more personal and pleasant.
Would defenitely recommend.

What an incredible day we had with Martin (self, wife and 2 daughters). I would strongly recommend this taste of Bruge tour on foot at the beginning of anyone’s Bruge experience as you get so much information about the city and history all while gaining a good sense for the area. Martins “insiders guide” to the best local food and drink spots as well as hidden alleyways and recommendations for things to do the remainder of our trip were so helpful. You wouldn’t have difficulty finding fantastic beers, waffles, (Belgian) fries, and chocolate on your own, but you also likely wouldn’t stumble upon the special gems that he brought us to. Martin is an amazing storyteller with a passion for this amazing city he calls home. 11 stars out of 10!!!

Our private tour was with Patrick, and he was PHENOMENAL. He listened to us as we walked along the streets of Bruges and customized the tour to our liking. We tasted amazing foods and drinks along the way including the small grey shrimp, beer, chocolate milk, waffles and even an assortment of chocolates from The Chocolate Line. It was clear he had a personal relationship with the owners and staff in each place, and it made the tour even more fun to watch their interactions. Patrick was able to give great details about the buildings and the history of Bruges, and we spent a bit of time within a walled community called a Béguinages. It was a place where holy women would live and serve the community around them. It was off the normal tour path but was a great addition. He also made two dinner suggestions for the evening and so we tried 'T Gezelleke. It was fantastic! Finally, because we enjoyed the waffles so much, Patrick was true to his word and sent us his family recipe for Belgian Waffles. I can't wait to make them and relive our wonderful experience in Brugge.

We booked the food tour with Patrick for my 30th birthday celebration in Brugge. Patrick was accommodating to our request and was kindly able to fit 5 of us into a private tour at a relatively short notice. Our ages ranged from 18 years old to 87 years old, and we all enjoyed the conversation, the views of the city, and mainly, the FOOD! Patrick was a great conversationalist, and seemed genuinely interested in learning about our group. He took us to several local restaurants, a brewery, and some local shops for nibbles of Belgian chocolate, candies, and cheeses. We left the tour highly satisfied and full, grateful for a fun experience with a local from Brugge. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city!

We went on this tour with Lavigna and she was great. You could tell that she was a Bruge local as she was passionate about the city and gave us so much interesting information. It was very different from other tours which can be a bit ‘formulated’. The food and beers were delicious. We also got some great recommendations for the remainder of our stay where to eat and drink. Would thoroughly recommend.
