- linfeis20210 contributionsWonderful historical guided tourI absolutely enjoyed the guided tour with Sancar! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and gave recommendations after the tour. I could really tell that he loves what he does and is very personable. He remembered everyone’s names and asked where everyone is from and remembered it during the entirety of the tour. This stood out as I’ve been on many guided tours where the guide doesn’t really get to know you on a personable level. Thank you for all the recommendations and highly highly recommend him! We ended up trying the food he recommended and it was delicious! Wishing we had booked him earlier so we could have gotten to enjoy the city of Brussels more. Also enjoyed the waffles and chocolate provided! Thank you Sancar and can’t wait to be back!Written December 12, 2022
- heddaz20180 contributionsAn informative tour to BrusselsA very informative 2-3 hours to walk around Brussels’ main landmarks and at the same time with the brief history and cultural background provided.our tour guide Sancar is very passionate about getting us to understand the culture and the architecture, at the end of the tour Sancar followed up with an email to us for all the recommendations on beers, cuisine, places and neighbourhood to visit, which is very helpful for us to plan the rest of the day’s activities! Great tour!Written December 9, 2022
- jenfE2450SX0 contributionsAmazing tour with unbelievable sights! Our tour guide, Sancar, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He had all the guests introduce themselves at the beginning and proceeded to remember everyone’s name throughout the tour. He was entertaining, encouraged questions, and went above and beyond to explain everything about the city and the history behind it.Written December 8, 2022
- jackieud0 contributionsGoing back to the Middle AgesWe traveled to Ghent and Bruge for the day. Our driver was Bernardo who everyone liked, friendly good driver. Our tour guide was Andreas I think that was her name. She was amazing. Gave tour in Spanish and English and unlike what other reviewers said said the exact thing in both languages and switched which language went first gave us informative walking tours in both Ghent and Bruge, and helped us with the restaurant menu suggestions when we had lunch. The thing that made our tour guide so special is that she tried to get to know each person on the tour spending a few moments with different people. I found that the personalization made this tour special even though it was a large group tour. The boat ride in the canal at Bruge is a must. Great way to end the day.Written August 26, 2022

My mother and I did the afternoon tour with Sancar and it was a very informative and great tour of Brussels. He was easy to find and very friendly to all of the participants. He went into great detail about the buildings architecture and the many statues meanings which was great as we would not have noticed on our own. Throughout the tour Sancar gave us plenty of time at the stops to take photos and he made room for our group to gather and hear his stories at even the more popular sites, like Manneken Pis and other statues.
I would give a warning that because of the cobblestones and hilly city area, this tour is not for those who are mobile-challenged. We had mostly good weather for the tour, but even with the little rain at the end, Sancar found dry spots/cover to do the explanations so it was bearable. The tour took a little longer than 2 hours because Sancar was giving a lot of information but I appreciated his full explanations.
It was also a great addition to have both a hot Belgian waffle and some fine Belgian chocolate at two different points in the tour. The tour was well organized and very informative. Would highly recommend!

My tour guide was Sancar. He is incredibly knowledgable about the history of Brussels and Europe, and genuinely curious about the world, making him a joy to speak to. Despite it being only a 3 hour tour, he made the effort to remember everyone’s names and where they were from. He engages each person individually and has this deadpan sense of humour.
At the end of a tour, he even gave us a list of recommended restaurants and places to visit. He didn’t ask for tips, surprisingly. Just a good review if you appreciate his work. Highly recommend the tour only if it’s with Sancar.

I highly recommend this tour, and suggest you take it your first day if you will be in Brussels for more than a day. The guide provided an excellent overview of the city, its history, architecture, and culture, in just the right amount of detail, and with time throughout and at the end for questions. The waffles and chocolate tasting were a pleasant touch, but take this tour even if you’re not hungry! The pace is brisk; be prepared to negotiate some steps and cobblestone streets. The guide was friendly, engaging, and attentive to everyone’s safety and comfort. No negatives.

The tour with Sancar has been wonderful. In two and a half hours (well, to be honest, he stayed longer with the group answering questions and helping us how to go places), he has given us a very broad perspective about the city. He knows a lot of history and tells you anecdotes that only people from Brussels know. In addition, his sense of humor as well as his approach to people makes the visit more personal. If you want to know something about the city and not get too tired, this is the right one.
Things to consider:
1) weather: it may rain intermittently, recommendation for an umbrella or raincoat
2) bathrooms: there is only one stop where you can use it, so take advantage
3) food: there are only 2 stops. It is not a food tour. It's more historical.
4) questions: at the end of the visit, give a series of traditional places to eat.

Planners and airlines*
You book a flight six months in advance and pay for it on the spot (which contributes to the company's cash flow). But very often in the months that follow you receive an email “times have changed”. However, we do not offer you the 250 or 300 euros that we will require if you are the one who wants to change the ticket.
So if the planning specialists are not capable of producing correct forecasts, they must be changed because this causes, among passengers, chain incidents for subsequent reservations.

It’s good - it’s all the main places covered that are central - the pissing boy, the great market square, the royal palace, an old fashioned luxury shopping plaza that used to be only for the rich and so on. But it means you’re definitely not going to miss any of the highlights. It’s nice to share that with others from other countries, and at each stop you get a very well rehearsed and delivered historical anecdote with great English but also a hint of emotion and passion and sincerity. You’re going to get the right waffle and the right chocolate this way too ie from the right places. They were where they said they’d be and on time, and the tour ran to time. All good.

This tour was amazing. Our group of 6 got there a little late but our tour guide has great communication. He did an amazing job of explaining the history of Brussel and the food. The waffle was honestly the best I have ever tasted. The chocolate was so good that I went back and spent $60 on more. At the end the tour guide was even more helpful and actually took us to the train station, showed us where to buy tickets and told us what platform to be on. I couldn't have asked a nice tour or guide. A+++

This tour was FANTASTIC! We would recommend to anyone with an interest in Brussels and it's stories. Sancar was the ultimate host. He learnt our names immediately. He was highly informative and interesting. His journey through Brussels was fabulous. He got to know something about each guest and gave us a surprise gift of a fresh, hot waffle each after explaining their history and details. He also have us a gift of 2 chocolates for tasting, recommending a savouring of each small bite to appreciate the two historically interesting flavours.
Sancar was flexible and arranged the tour to suit the circumstances. Thank you Sancar- Highly Recommend!

A fascinating historical background to Brussels and Belgium was given by Sancar in a friendly, paced manner. My husband and I were part of a small group of adults and hardly noticed that 2 and a half hours had gone by when the tour finished! It was so interesting!
We experienced Mannekin Pis, dressed up for St. Patrick's Day, the Cathedral, the Royal Park and Palace and learned all about Grande Place and many, many other landmarks and statues. We sampled delicious waffles on the street and chocolates from 'Mary's' in the Royal Galleries - the oldest covered "Mall" in the world.
Sancar's approach is very customer friendly. He knew our names within minutes and once the tour was finished, gave participants customised advice for the rest of our stays. He recommended films with historical themes and even booked a table for my husband and I at a restaurant! This completely met our desire to experience simple but good Belgian cuisine at 7pm (in C'est Bon C'est Belge) before attending an 8.30pm concert at the Palais de Beaux Artes that evening! I am writing this review from a lovely vegetarian restaurant that he also recommended for lunch (Yummy Bowl). The walking tour was excellent value. We both heartily recommend it. Thank you Sancar!

Sancar is an excellent communicator! Book this tour upon arrival! He is full of incredible details about Brussels and very fun to walk around the city and ask questions. He knows everything! I especially loved his explanation of the Grand Place! After the tour I felt like I had a good overview of the city and was not afraid to venture out myself. At the end of the trip he emailed us places to eat, shop and fun facts of places to go. He is a wealth of information. Highly recommend!

We would like to book this tour but the dates we are visiting say ‘tour in French’ we would like an English speaking tour guide so does this mean it will only be in French or both? Thank you
Written November 28, 2023
I booked the tour in English and the guide only spoke in English! I would imagine that if it says French the tour will only be in French. It's a very good tour with the English speaker.

The one I went on was in English only. It might be available in German, but if it doesn't say so then it probably isn't.

I understand that many of the points of interest are closed on Monday. Will that impact the tour as conducted on Mondays.
Written August 28, 2019
Hi Dave,
I don't believe it will have an impact due to much of the places of interest didn't involve going inside. The only place I remember going inside was the grand Cathedral (that's what I referred to it as).
The remaining places of interest are places you may wish to visit at a later time or date. Ample information is provided for you o make a informed choice.
Hope this helps.

The name of the town center is the Grand Place and that can be confusing as there is a Grand Palace: if my memory serves me well.
