Ali was our guide. He was very informative on all our stops. This tour was a great way to see all the significant highlights in brussels on our one day visit.
I have some suggestions on how to make the tour better:
The guide should wear an official company shirt from Groovy Tours to be easily spotted at meeting point.
Our snack spot- we spent too long here and guests did not have cash to pay for beer/fries so we had to wait while a few found bank machines.
Justice building- guide shud inform guests how to enter thru security and leave through a different exit with difficult doors to navigate one person at a time.
Would be nice to add option of riding the Ferris wheel to gain a beautiful city view.

Hi Nicole thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're happy to learn you enjoyed the visit. Regarding your suggestions, the fries place at our halfway stop has been accepting card payments for at least a month now, there is an ATM a few steps away as well should you prefer using cash. The courthouse visit is pretty straightforward but as you say the rotating exit door is made for one person at a time. It is not possible to ride the Ferris wheel unfortunately but you're welcome to do so after the tour since it is not far from our bike garage. Cheers!

Finished the Brussels Bike Tour a few days ago and it was amazing! I learned a ton about Brussels' history and got some exercise doing it. The ride wasn't challenging at all and would be good for everyone. I would definitely recommend doing this the first full day you arrive to get familiar with the area.

I'm glad I was able to sign up for this tour, it was a great way to see the larger Brussels besides the immediate Central historic area. Tour guide Hong kept order although it was a larger than expected group. The tour was over 3.5 hours, but first 40+ minutes were standing in the Grand Place, then walk to train station to get the bikes. There was a 30 minute lunch break in the middle.

Hi Elizabeth, thank you for your review. Cycling allows you to get away from the touristic downtown area and get to see a lot of beautiful sights you would have otherwise missed. Cheers!

The tour guide was very sweet and kind but not at all lively or personable. Several of the things she told us were false, and she seemed disinterested in the tour or in being a tour guide. The bikes were good and the route was great. Felt like we hired a bike leader and not a tour guide.

Hi Abby, so it seems like the main problem was the guide's personality you didn't like since you liked the route and enjoyed the bikes.
I'm surprised that you are so well informed about Brussels. I think it would have been a good idea to share your knowledge and correct the guide on the spot, even more so considering that it just you and your travelling partner on the tour. We more than welcome any comments regarding incorrect information we might have given you. Please send is an email at info@groovybrussels.com
Thank you for your review.
Cheers!

We had a superb bike tour with Ali. He was extremely nice and friendly, very informative, and handled the tour with much care and responsibility. His explanations were detailed enough but not too tiring, and he was able to respond to all our questions. Highly recommended.

My wife and I didn't expect to get a private tour when we showed up for this tour but the whole holiday had been pretty quiet due to Covid. Rather than cancel the tour was still run with only 2 of us attending. The tour guide was knowledgeable, entertaining and helpful. She was easy to understand and be around. The tour itself was good, covering most of the main sites of Brussels with some good recommendations from the host. It is not comprehensive as Brussels is so large but covers a good amount to get your bearings on the city. My only gripe would be the price, for what turned out to be a private your 35 euros each is pretty good value but under normal circumstances 35 euro for a group bike tour is fairly steep in Europe. That said so is Belgium in general.

We really enjoyed this bike tour. Our guide Zoe was interesting and informative, the bikes were comfortable and the cycling quite easy, important for me as i have knee replacements and was a bit concerned that i might hold the group up but the pace was gentle and the landmarks and historical information were really interesting. Plenty of stops for photos and we were lucky with the most lovely weather even in late November. Highly recommend this tour.

Ali, our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the sites we visited. The bikes were well maintained. There was some riding up hill on cobble stones where we chose to walk our bikes, but it was a short distance. The tour included a stop midway through where we were able to buy food and drink before we finished.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We try to keep our bikes in top shape and it seems like you've noticed that. Downtown Brussels still has a few cobblestone streets but we believe it is part of its charm. Our guests are welcome to walk the 2 short (300 meters in total) uphill streets in the tour if they prefer. Cheers!

It was an ok tour. Our tour guide was sweet but seemed a little over whelmed with a large group. She would stop at the Corning to count people but it wasn’t enough room to get everyone’s off the road. She was knowledgeable and kind but not much personality, we loss interest .

The tour was so much fun! My partner and I were the only ones joining that day, so we basically had a private tour! We are from Holland, so exploring a city by bike really sounded like a great idea. Our guide James was great and he knew all fun little details about the city. After the tour we really felt like we had explored Brussels. The fries and beers during lunch were also delicious!

There are lots of bikes in their little office area but I too saw no e-bikes. As pfreher1 writes, it's basically a flat/downhill route except for one bit where you and the bikes go up via lift. Beautiful route, very glad I went.
