Excellent scaled recreation of Dutch culture
The Madurodam was a great place to visit and provided so many wonderful and different recreations in the miniature size. The attention to detail and innovative ways they allowed for interaction with the displays was excellent

    All superb...except food experience
I was there at least 5 times already. It is very nice park. Especially with kids. All excellent except food. I purchased a food that was supposed to be vegetarian, in the Taste of Holland (or a similar-name restaurant near the exit) but it tasted like meat. So much that I did not eat it and even that one bite I had in my mouth had to go. The staff told me that was vegetarian, but if it was true, I should be warned about the strong meat taste of it. As I am the kind of vegetarian who actually doesn't like meat, I would like to see more plant-based food like spinach and broccoli or something like it. I also didn't like that something that was supposed to be vegetarian was stored so close to meat products. This food was the only wasted money I regret because I was still hungry and disappointed. The other restaurant on the other side of the park was a bit better, but I will definitely bring my own food next time.

    Great park
Bought tickets online. Visited the park as a day trip from Amsterdam. About 45 min by train. From The Hague train station we took a tram to the park, it stopped right in front of the park. We bought the day passes for the trams at the train station. The day passes for all of us were €17 (3 adults and 2 kids 10 And 13 years old). The park is compact, there are some interactive activities that our kids loved. We visited on a weekday during summer, it was raining a bit, the park wasn’t busy at all. We spent maybe 3 hours total (that’s including the lunch), it was a perfect amount for our family.

    Do not miss this park.
This place is fantastic. Even my wife liked it! Both my son and daughter aged 14 also really enjoyed it. I love model villages, and this is the best I've ever visited. We were inside for hours. It'd just so good. I recommend not bypassing the DC3 plane ride. It's worth the wait in the line.

    Honey, I shrunk the Netherlands
Learn about the Netherlands in miniature. Great park. We spent around 3 hours there. Parking is at a cost. The park is nice to visit for anyone that is interested in what the Netherlands has to offer. There was a plane where you can queue up for an experience. Definitely worth doing. Overall the park was super well maintained, clean, fun and the sun helped make it a perfect day out for all the family.

    Our dream came true
Madurodam is what brought us to the Netherlands! A year ago my daughter showed me a youtube video of Madurodam. I was fascinated--just my kind of thing. Then she showed me Keukenhof. I said "let's go!" So a year in the making, in time for her 31st birthday, we arrived in Amsterdam. We loved this place. The scale & detail of the buildings was amazing. Even though we didn't recognize most of the buildings, it didn't matter. It was fun looking at the little figures of people set up amongst the buildings--look closely, someone has a sense of humor. The interactive elements were fun for both of us; I was unexpectedly delighted by the 3 coin-operated features where an item would be "made" for you & then delivered by a small truck. We got a small pair of clogs; a tulip pin; & a tiny Mars bar. From looking at photos I thought that this was a rather large place with different areas spread out over the park. When we entered I could see that it was one large "bowl". But it still took 4 hours for us to go through everything, and even then, we were too tired to do any of the indoor stuff. A fantastic day out, despite a cold & windy "Dutch weather" day!

More suited for families with children
Nice park to spend 2-3 hours. More suited for families with children. Has a lot of miniature buildings and models of the major monuments in Holland.

Still a great day out with the kids
My parents took me to Madurodam over 35 years ago and I still have very fond memories of the day! Fast forward to the present and it still does not disappoint - a great day out with the kids and the models have aged/been maintained really well. The grounds and play parks are also well maintained. Its easy to get to from the Hague by bus/tram and marked on all the maps. You can drive if you want as well as there is plenty of car parking on site. You get to tour Holland in miniature and there is loads of interactivity as you go around and opportunities for kids to play/learn/explore. I recommend downloading the park app - it is a good interactive map apart from anything else and will ensure that you don't miss any of the interactive exhibits. Make sure you collect a smart card with your ticket as this will activate the video screens with historical details as you go round. Its more geared for slightly older children so if you have toddlers there's not much point - its also takes a bit of a colonialist view which might not be to a UK taste either. Make sure you have a few odd 20c and 50c euro coins or a contactless debit card - some of the interactive models require payment - you do get to make the factories work and produce you 'goods' for your money - its a fun thing, fairly priced and what I felt was particularly nice is that none of the items were available in the gift shop so you had to interact with the model if you wanted anything - so you can't have a 'never mind dear, we'll pick one up in the shop later' attitude. There's also a good ol' fashioned pen and paper trail as well to keep younger kids amused. You can picnic or get food at the cafe or restaurant - again, very fairly priced and definitely not out to rip-off the captive audience which again added to the nice feel of the park. If too many kids is getting to you, don't worry! They serve beer too!

    Good for kids
It'd be good for kids, but probably not very interesting for adults. I spend less than two hours here, and that's enough. You can find cheaper tickets on their website.

    A Masterful Illusion
The scope of this miniature land is very impressive, with lots of thought applied to capturing the smallest details to faithfully recreate some of the most famous landmarks in The Netherlands. As a foreign visitor, I was left scratching my head at some of the models - due to being completely unfamiliar with the source material. We thoroughly enjoyed the automated boats & planes, the walkable bridges and of course the birds ruining the illusion of scale!

    A Miniature Netherlands
It was really interesting walking around and seeing areas that you recognised. It was well kept. It's definitely suitable for all ages. It's not all model village either because some of it tells the history of The Netherlands.

    Recommended visit
Went here with my girlfriend who is an expat. Exploring Netherlands as a 'tourist'. Madurodam doesn't disappoint. It's a great getaway so see (and recognize) the top sights the Netherlands have to offer. The detail of Madurodam is really cool. There are some interactive attraction for kids and never seems too busy. Recommended!

    Netherlands in miniature
We dropped by Madurodam on the way to Scheveningen Beach. The models were great and it was really fun spotting places we’d visited in real life and being able to see places we hadn’t. The entrance fee is a little pricey at around £19 per person, especially as we managed to see everything in under an hour. I’d imagine you’d be able to spend a good amount of time here though if you had kids, as there are a lot of interactive elements.

Madurodam is a charming place, with many town squares and significant buildings of the Netherlands in a miniature scale. There are playgrounds for the kids and some live attractions, plus some of the areas have interactive elements (for example, putting in 1 Euro at the tiny clog factory will result in a tiny pair of ceramic clogs popping out of the factory and into a tiny truck which drives by so you can collect them as a souvenir). That is the charming part. On a critical note, the entrance fee is quite high, and refreshments are extremely expensive (which they can get away with, as there is nothing else around and you can't come in and out). The queues for the live performances are very long, stretching to well over 45 minutes, so prepare for some very boring waiting around in the hot sun for a 6 minute show. Social distancing is difficult to enforce and the park running at lower capacity doesn't seem to have had much of an impact on crowding/queueing. Some of the displays are showing signs of wear. Overall, it was fun for a couple of hours but both the tickets and refreshments were very expensive and I would not highly recommend it. Perhaps worth it if you book online through Tiqets or with a discount code, and bring your own drinks and snacks.

Came here on a multi City trip and thought it seemed bit expensnive but wow so many models, of buildings from towns like the Hague,Amsterdam, rotterdam.etc
Some of the models were moving , some you could pay 20 cents to get moving and a few experiences like one was football history and games, sit in a normal sized old plane and have a flight and light experience.
The place is well worth a visit but a lot of models are out doors so just keep and eye on weather.
Glad I went

This has memories for me as a child. My parents are Dutch and migrated to Australia. When I was still in primary school my parents took me to The Netherlands and I have photos of visiting Maduradam. So I decided when my wife and I visited that we must return.

We stayed in Haarlem and caught a train to The Hague then a tram to Madurodam. It was very easy.

For those who havent been here this is a miniature city and replicas of various parts of The Netherlands.

We spent many hours looking at the various exhibits and taking photos. The detail is actually quite amazing. Many moving exhibits such as boats moving down canals, a ship catches fire and is put out, trains moving, planes moving from Schipol Airport and lots more.

We went for a flight on KLM on an actual plane with a simulated ride. Kids would love this.

There is a cafe which is self serve and you pay at the counter. You can get favourites like kroketten beer etc.

This is a great place to visit whether you are a child or an adult.

Very nice place with 1:25 mockups of famous buildings, mansions airports and railway stations of Amsterdam and everything works! The planes taxi, the trains pull out of stations and go around the park, the ferries shuttle between stops and children can play with steam boats and fire-engine ships! There is a food court and souvenir shop in the corner and dotted with benches to sit under leafy trees. Would def recommend spending an hour here easily. Also watch out for the Little Dutch boy with finger in the dam at the entrance!

The attraction is quite dated and they do not seem to have bothered to refresh it. Almost all of the interactive attractions were not working. The models also looked like they had seen better days. More signs need to be installed to explain what some models represented as it was not clear and the placement of signs that did exist needs to be improved - some were placed so far away from where you stand that you would need a pair of binoculars to read them.

If they put in some effort to clean up the models and ensure the displays were properly working, this would have been a 5* experience.

This is an absolutely lovely place, and created in memory of a Dutch War Hero. We spent around 3 hours here, and found it delightful. Everything is so cleverly made, with moving model trains etc. I especially loved the fun KLM plane ride. I think it did help that the sun was shining, and we went midweek, so not so crowded. 11 Euros to park , as well as the entrance ticket.

This place is actually kinda cool with their miniature models of historical and fun landmarks in Holland. Tickets are affordable and we spent a good amount of time here. The eateries are okay but we were hungry so we had a burger. It gives ideas of places to see if you haven't been there yet and it also made me happy when we did see places that we had already been to. Friendly to families, I recommend if you have time in The Hague.

Very detailed miniatures and some other stuff on the side (there was an interactive story where you go in a room, or a soccer exhibition). As a foreign tourist, some of the expositions might not necessarily be that interesting to you. I would have liked a few more facts about the harbor/refinery miniatures they had.
What also makes it shy of five stars is that it's confusing to figure out where to go; as far as we could tell there was no suggested parkour so we had to figure on our own how we could best see everything.

I wasn’t fully sure how much I would enjoy this but it the end I really loved it. There are a number of small indoor exhibitions but the star attraction is the mini exhibitions of some of the main sights in the Netherlands. The whole park is very well laid out.

Just to note that entrance fee is €23.50

This place is brilliant, especially if you know some of the places depicted, we found the Binnenhof especially interesting as our hotel was opposite so we’ve been there. The shows were excellent, we especially liked the Water Wolf and Niuw Amsterdam shows. A little disappointed that the 3D selfie was not available and also the signage was a bit haphazard with several exhibits unmarked. Overall we spent several hours here and had a very reasonable lunch too.
